One of the most feared and misunderstood apex predators on the planet is making a remarkable return to the ocean, including the Gulf of Mexico.
Great white sharks have rebounded after a dramatic decline from overfishing, Ocearch has found. Marine biologists believe about half of the tens of thousands of great white sharks on the East Coast spend their winters in the Gulf of Mexico. They are the snowbirds of sharks.
"And then they’ll leave, about the same time after Easter, and start heading north," Sarasota shark researcher Dr. Bob Hueter said.

I am so fascinated by animals. They are all so smart and clever in their own way. From ants to orcas and everything in between! Sharks are by far one of my favorites. Great work! I hope we can all learn to respect all animals and take care of them! We cannot live without them!

That must be the Gulf in /around Florida, because the Gulf water off the Louisiana coast looks like a puddle of muddy rainwater in comparison! No wonder New Orleaneans head to places like Destin every chance we get!! 😂 Beautiful video! Thank you!

I saw that. There were several caught and released this past winter. For 48 years I was told they weren’t out there and they mostly weren’t. Glad they are now. Beautiful fish. Healthy for our oceans.
It’s not lost on me that mainstream ecologists clamor that they’re fewer than 3500 great whites left in the world. Yet we know and track migrations of tens of thousands on both coasts.
Lol now they are on all Areas costs 😅😅😅😅😅😅 i remember my Biological Teacher gives me a 4 because i said they can live everywhere also near Lousiana Alabama Texas etc.or in Canada Main Cold waters
Didn’t I just hear yesterday about how sharks are disappearing in the ocean. Yet this says they know where they are
Fools sharks live in the ocean so of course they will be around and its not dramatic is good because it shows they are still around which is good, many are endangered species.
