Amidst this chaos, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) swift advances are now intensifying fears of a potential state collapse, one that would likely plunge the region into chaos. With a fragmented government and military embroiled in enforcing their contentious autocratic rule, Sudan's path to peace appears increasingly precarious. If the rumour is true, Russia has been flying planes full of gold to various countries (Iran, the Stans and perhaps others) to avoid sanctions. Besides no one wants to get stuck with useless Rubles. So while Russia may be a large producer of gold, I suspect it isn't enough and that may also be a reason for which side they've taken. It also explains their eagerness to build gold smelting facilities in Niger, out of the goodness of their own hearts of course.
I was anticipating this video. Does it address the operation of Ukranian military assets within Sudan to combat Wagner forces?
