    • Over 75,000... many people forget all the tarps the marlins had in that stadium.. with the tarps they could sit 42,000.. without them.. 75k... 2-3k tickets were sold with "obstructed views" and still sold out in seconds... they did it again in 2003.

    • Stadium was designed to host baseball and football. By the late 1980s, Miami was already trying to make themselves a target for expansion. Baseball was part of the plan from the beginning. Calling it a “football stadium” was part of the rhetoric used to get taxpayers to build them a new ballpark.

Manny Ramirez said of the fans - “I couldn’t believe the noise. I have never seen fans so loud, and I’ve been to Manchester United games. We have never seen anything quite like this. • As a DBacks fan I feel the Marlins are partly to thank for our eventual 2001 title by showing that an expansion team could quickly become a serious contender. Even after our mediocre inaugural season in 98, we were able to land a bunch of quality veterans who were still chasing their first ring. Randy Johnson, Curt Schilling, Mark Grace, Steve Finley, Tony Womack, Reggie Sanders, etc. Wonder whether those guys would've taken AZ seriously if Florida hadn't won it all a few years earlier.

    @drewdrewski4188@drewdrewski41882 жыл бұрын
    • As a Dodgers fan, I went to the Chase Field from May 26-29 for 4 game series and I was shocked how weak dbacks fan base is. Despite winning the World Series, making several playoffs, with latest being 2017, fan base is very weak and low in numbers. Dodgers fans outnumbered Dbacks fans by roughly 3:1 to 4:1. It's a team that has more accomplishments than the Mariners, Rockies, Rays, Rangers, Astros, and the Padres but yet, number of fans are low. Dbacks really need more number of fans. But from my trip, as I talked to dback fans, I developed respect for dbacks fans and learned what loyalty was about. Despite team slumping and having bad management in their organization, dback fans still stand by their team. Even when team was losing 14-1, they stayed till end of the game. I hope dbacks get their team straight very soon and make the playoffs so we can have our playoff rival series again.

  • Through 6 games this was one of the worst World Series of all time - bad pitching, tons of errors, blowout games, games dragging on for four hours, etc. It was so bad that the head of NBC even said that he wished it was a sweep so they could get back to their regular programming. Not sure this one game redeemed the entire series, but if a game ever could, this one came close.
