  • book: The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine Renowned Israeli historian, Ilan Pappe's groundbreaking book revisits the formation of the State of Israel. Between 1947 and 1949, over 400 Palestinian villages were deliberately destroyed, civilians were massacred and around a million men, women, and children were expelled from their homes at gunpoint. Denied for almost six decades, had it happened today it could only have been called "ethnic cleansing". Decisively debunking the myth that the Palestinian population left of their own accord in the course of this war, llan Pappe offers impressive archival evidence to demonstrate that, from its very inception, a central plank in Israel's founding ideology was the forcible removal of the indigenous population. Indispensable for anyone interested in the current crisis in the Middle East.

    • I disagree about who benefitted from their meddling in our finances, because they married their way into royal power, from tax collectors and bankers to members of all the royal courts, and later even councils of ministers and lords after having brought down the uncooperative few into the age of constitutional monarchism. It seems to have been of benefit to a precious few, those Apostles of refined culture. Had it been so beneficial to all, then they needn’t have bought and built the western media empire, daily regurgitating hasbara talking points like so many preprogrammed robots to convince us of the marvelous stench we live in. The days of tin foil tv dinners with smiling family faces around the dim light of the nightly news is long gone, and they can’t catch up to the algorithm’s capitalist interests in democratizing the news. One needs only notice that our US VP’s daughter raises funds in solidarity with the oppressed while her mother pleads the case for the opposing offender to recognize that the end of this parasitic relationship is drawing near.

Roberta is correct in that over the last few centuries several governments have gone cap in hand to the Rothschilds because they wanted finance for various ventures. As for individuals marrying into XY and Z - that's how the rich and powerful of all nationalities and religions play their games. When you start using 'our', 'they' and 'parasitic' when discussing Jewish-identified business interests you risk perpetuating anti-Semitic stereotypes. As to the 'our' - not all YT watchers are USA citizens and some USA citizens like Roberta are Jewish. You must surely be aware that the Rothschilds in the USA and UK have contributed to charitable organisations which have benefitted disadvantaged people. USA society has effed up due to its own internal affairs - you didn't need Jewish 'outsiders' to assist you.

The fact that Israel is a small country is irrelevant to this. A small oligarchy can control a large country; this is far from new or unprededented, especially when supported by a large global web of other oligarchies which all mutually benefit from the byproducts of their actions.

  • 🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 *🌍 Israel as a Strategic US Military Base* - Israel serves as a giant military base and an extension of US power and global domination. - Israel has been used by the US to support and arm other repressive regimes, such as the Guatemalan military during the genocide against the Mayan people and the apartheid regime in South Africa. - Israel's presence in the heart of the Arab world has distorted development in the Middle East to the benefit of US imperialism. 00:55 *🤝 The US-Israel Relationship and the Israel Lobby* - There are various mainstream narratives that attempt to explain the US-Israel relationship, including shared values, sympathy for Jewish persecution, and the influence of the Israel Lobby. - The Israel Lobby is an extension of the US military-industrial complex that keeps elected officials in line, but this doesn't change the fundamental nature of Israel as a strategic US investment and proxy. - The struggle for justice in Palestine is a struggle against US imperialism itself. 02:16 *🇵🇸 Israel's Role as a Colonial Outpost for the West* - Israel was founded with the support of the British Empire, which had made promises to both the Arab nationalist movement and the Zionist movement during World War I. - The Sykes-Picot agreement and the Balfour Declaration were part of the imperialist carving up of the Middle East by European powers, leading to the creation of Israel as a European colony in the heart of the Arab world. - The anti-Semitism and indifference of Western powers, including the US, towards the plight of European Jews during the Holocaust was a factor in the establishment of Israel, but the primary motivation was to create a colonial outpost for Western interests in the region. 24:44 *📢 Awareness of the Holocaust and Lack of Intervention* - There were appeals made to bomb the rail lines leading to the Nazi concentration camps, but the military commanders refused, claiming it was not strategic. - Before the war, some of the leading American families, such as the Kennedys, Fords, and Bushes, were pro-Nazi and anti-Semitic. - In 1943, the only Jewish member of the US cabinet, Henry Morgenthau, had his department write a report attacking the State Department for not helping to relieve the genocide against Jewish and other people. - After the war, the US leaders invoked sympathy for the Holocaust to justify the creation of the state of Israel, even though they had been indifferent or obstructive to efforts to save European Jews during the war. 26:59 *🇮🇱 Israel's Role in Serving US Imperial Interests* - During the Cold War, Israel colluded with France and Britain in 1956 to attempt to overthrow the government in Egypt and seize territory. - The 1967 Six-Day War, presented as a defensive war, was actually an offensive to conquer the Golan Heights, West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem, which was viewed favorably by the US. - Israel assisted repressive regimes in Latin America, such as the Guatemalan military during the genocide against the Mayan people, and provided the apartheid regime in South Africa with nuclear weapons. 32:18 *🌍 Israel's Continued Usefulness to US Imperialism* - Israel's role has not diminished, as the US is shifting its focus to the Asia-Pacific region, making Israel's strategic location and military capabilities still valuable to US interests in the Middle East. - Israel serves as a "high-paid security guard" for US interests in the region, carrying out covert operations like assassinations of Iranian scientists that the US is unwilling to do directly. - The US continues to support Israel's war against the Palestinians in Gaza, as it aims to crush all resistance movements to US imperialism in the region. 37:40 🇵🇸 Israel's Role in the US's Shifting Global Priorities While the US is shifting its foreign policy focus to the Asia-Pacific region with the "pivot to Asia," the Middle East and North Africa remain strategically important to US interests. The US sees Israel as an important asset in the region, as it serves as a large military base and allows the US to preposition vast quantities of material there. The US-Israel relationship is not one of true friendship, but rather Israel serving as a "high-paid security guard" for US imperial interests in the Middle East. 40:15 🇮🇷 Israel as the US's Proxy against Iran Israel carries out covert operations, like assassinating Iranian scientists, that the US is unwilling to do directly, in order to counter Iran, which the US sees as the major enemy in the region. The US supports Israel's actions against Iran, as it fears that without this support, Iran would gain influence in the region, which the US cannot allow. 41:25 🇵🇸 US Support for Israel's Genocide in Gaza The US is a partner in Israel's war against the people of Gaza, continuing to provide emergency resupplies of bombs and other military aid. The US wants to crush all resistance movements to imperialism, whether led by Communists or Islamists, in the region and globally, and sees Israel's brutal actions in Gaza as serving this goal. • On Israel's support and arming of fascist and apartheid regimes, leading to oppression and genocide: - Israel provided training, weapons, and other military support to the Guatemalan military during the 1980s, when they were committing genocide against the Mayan population. - Israel had excellent relations with the apartheid regime in South Africa, and in 1979, Israel and South Africa jointly detonated an atomic bomb in the South Atlantic, helping the apartheid regime acquire nuclear weapons. - Israel also supported other racist regimes like the Rhodesian (now Zimbabwe) government, providing them with weapons and military assistance. - This support for fascist and oppressive regimes by Israel served the interests of U.S. imperialism, as these regimes were assigned the role of protecting American and other imperialist interests in the region. - The U.S. was able to distance itself from directly supporting these regimes, while Israel acted as a proxy, carrying out the dirty work on behalf of U.S. imperial objectives. - This pattern of Israel aiding repressive, undemocratic governments has enabled and prolonged the oppression and genocide of indigenous and marginalized populations in various parts of the world.

  • The USA does not get very much from its unconditional support for Israel, quite the contrary actually. Individual US politicians, however, get ALOT from the Israel Lobby. This guy does not actually debunk any of the arguments put forward by Mearsheimer and Walt in their book, he just calls it “Antisemitic” because reality rhymes with some stupid Nazi conspiracy theories from the early 20th century. Thats not a good reason to dismiss the Lobbying argument. Mearsheimer and Walt present plenty of strong counter-evidence to the “Israel is a US military base/Geo-Political Strategic Asset” argument. If the best you have got in order to falsify that, is; “Sorry, but I can’t prescribe to that theory because it sounds Antisemitic” then you are not a serious person, and certainly not an ally to Palestinian Liberation, or the truth generally.

    • When asked to clarify how it is exactly that Israel is benefiting US Imperialism in the Modern day context, (that is, since 1989 to right now, in this ongoing Genocide) Beckner’s best argument seems to be “It’s a big US Military base, and the US will do anything to crush any opposition to it, but wants to do so in a plausibility deniable way if possible through letting the blame and demonisation fall upon the Israeli’s (notice btw that this argument still allows the Israeli’s to be framed as a political pawn of the US and henceforth a form of victim, instead of a powerful actor with agency, and a distinct political/religious ideology of it’s own). While certain facets of this explanation may be plausible, i find the evidence to support it to be flimsy and inadequate to justify the sheer level of sacrifice on the part of the US to give Israel whatever it wants, no matter the damage to US interests.

  • Humanitarian AID? The situation you have described is indeed critical and urgent. In response to such dire circumstances, here are some immediate actions that can be taken: 1. **Urgent Humanitarian Aid**: Immediate efforts should be mobilized to provide essential aid such as food, medicine, and shelter to the Palestinian people in need. 2. **Ceasefire**: Call for an immediate ceasefire from all parties involved to stop the violence and protect civilian lives. 3. **International Intervention**: Pressure should be exerted on international governing bodies, such as the United Nations, to intervene and mediate a resolution to the conflict. 4. **Human Rights Monitoring**: Ensure proper monitoring of human rights violations and hold perpetrators accountable for their actions. 5. **Global Solidarity**: Encourage global solidarity and support for the Palestinian people through peaceful demonstrations, advocacy campaigns, and diplomatic efforts. It is crucial for the international community to come together and take swift action to alleviate the suffering and protect the rights of the Palestinian people.

The US clearly supports Israel because it's in empire's best interests (so it believes) to do so, however from Israel's perspective it seems they must believe that controlling American politics still matters otherwise they wouldn't put so many resources into it.
