She's better than a bunch of guys I work with haha nice work
Thank you 😊 🙏🏼😊
Thank you I’m so impressed with the door archway, I’ve been walking around for about the last two years trying to figure out how I myself was going to do that, so yeah thanks great job
Aw yay! Glad I could help! Thank you so much for watching
What a great video. It was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for getting right to the point instead of beating around the bush like every other video. OMG!! Also, it was awesome that you added you falling in here. hahaha. I'm glad you weren't hurt. The best people in the world are the ones that can laugh at themselves. I was ill and aggravated trying to find a video on building an arch and after 100 videos of "BLAH BLAH BLAH" I found this. Not only did I find exactly what I needed, but it changed my mood. Thanks Again
Aw Yayy that makes me so happy. That really means a lot. Such a nice comment. Really I appreciate it 😍❤️😊🙏
Nicely done! You are like me, I don't overthink it and just go ahead and do it. If it doesn't come out the 1st time, I try again. I rebuilt a 1924 house by myself (of course friends helped). I picked it up really cheap with a couple acres of land, gutted it and rebuilt it all the way I wanted it. I lived 20 happy years there and remodeled as I lived there over the years, super cheap to do it yourself. Then I sold it for a very hefty profit.
That’s so cool! That’s a dream! So impressive
Your video inspired me to add an arch to our home!!

I loveeeeeee arches like this! You did an amazing job! Thank you for sharing this tutorial.

Fantastic job. I want to transform a general squared doorway into an arch and started looking for best way to do it and your tuition ticked all the boxes for me and now I’m raring to go. Thank you.

Was thinking about changing a square door into an arched door, and came to this video. You are very skilled! Me, I would hire someone to do this! glad to know the 'how to's' and you did a lovely job. I'm all about the Spanish look; I live in AZ and love love love the whole southwest-y vibe, and arched doorways are a favorite. Thank you!!
Thank you so much. Same. I love the look
Thank you. Excellent presentation. What I planned doing starting tomorrow.
No problem! Glad I could help. That’s super exciting. Have fun! 😃
Looks really good!

5:43...😂😂😂 You two are hilarious.
This is really similar to the arch I want to create so I’m glad I found this! Also you had me laughing in the beginning, glad I found your channel! 🧡

Wonderful! Wife and I are closing on another home and will definitely try this! Awesome videos!
That’s awesome! I’d love to see it
Excellent! I took down a door between my living room and hallway and I’m planning on putting an arch in that space. I have an arch over the bar by the kitchen so having the second arch would tie it together. Thanks for the great tips and inspiration! Great video! And I love your puppy too ;).
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it. 😊😊 yeah I’m gonna add a second arch too
@@ShannonElizabethDIY Great! Are you going to make another video? I hope so! Have a great weekend!
@@MovieMakingMan thank you so much. Hope you have a great weekend too. I think I’ll make a shirt on it. But I did forget to record a lot of it unfortunately
I have a giant open doorway between my kitchen and living room and I want to have an arched pocket door instead, this was so helpful. Thank you for the straight forward info!!
That will be so cool. I’d love to see that
GREAT JOB. Thank you for sharing...

You so can! I believe in you 😍😍
Good job and good video

saludos a mi gente de la piedad de parte de adan y rocio desde el area de al bahia en san francisco
Just an fyi , if it's a wide doorway , usually 6 feet or longer , it will have a "header , and you don't wanna Remove that .
Thank you for sharing
Hello, great job. I've seen where they wet the back of the sheetrock to soften it then put it against the wall & screw it in. I'm not sure if along the way, some years from now, will your frame eventually show cracks.
Didn’t think about that. Smart. Next time will definitely do that
Great video! I noticed you removed a wall heater unit. We have one of those that we would like to get rid of and upgrade - can you share some info on what you did to remove/replace that!?
I agree - they are awful. If I had one it'd be gone within the first week!
Thank you so much. I really just unscrewed everything that needed to be unscrewed and then asked our electrician to deal with the wires
This turned out really nice! I want to do one for my entryway but not sure if the entryway is too short. How tall is your archway?
Thank you so much!! 80" I think. I would think you could
You did great to be your first time. #ALREADY
Thank you so much 😊❤️
Okay, kind of a crazy question but my hallway is a MAJOR focal point of my apartment… do you think this would be renter friendly in the sense that I can probably remove it before moving out? I’ll have to repaint before I leave anyway…
I guess I won’t title it renter friendly but it’s definitely possible. I have seen people do it with styrofoam that would definitely be more temporary. It would definitely need paint touch ups once you leave and maybe even some drywall and mud work depending on how you set it up. But if you want to you definitely should. As long as you want to do the work to do or pay someone to do it
@@ShannonElizabethDIY I did not think about styrofoam!!! I’ll definitely look into that… I don’t mind mudding and repainting before I leave! Thanks for the suggestion!
Random question but how tall are your ceilings??
There's in concurrencies from an aesthetic perspective ... In the creating of an archway in this structure. it's like putting antlers on a rabbit and making it into a jackalope
That is not what our house looks like now. If you can’t tell the house house is demoed
I think you mean inconsistencies.
What was the tool that was used to cut the dry wall?
I used a drywall saw
Random question - how tall are your ceilings??
They are 99”
Do you have a list of all the materials?
I think this is everything: - plywood (1/2” or 3/4”) - a 2x4 ( or any scrap wood to cut into small blocks) - drywall -drywall screws - Paper corner bead - joint compound - primer -pain
How many days does it take you to do this? I know you applied extra layers too so if you only did 2 layers, could this project be complete in 2 days? Tight space with a move and I'd like to add arches before painters come in!
Yeah you could if you you had one longer day and get joint compound in on the first day. It took me longer than two days but I was taking my time.
U should ask a man
@3:06 It is better to use an oscillating multi-tool for cutting drywall like that. But I'm guessing she didn't have one.
Good to know. Thank you for sharing!
My reciprocating saw is my favorite tool of all time because it’s so useful but the oscillating tool is a very close second. You’re right about it being great for cutting. All the best!
What door i can install here ?
We don't want a door there
I have a concern. It doesn't look safe to wear a drill on your belt without removing the drill bit first.
this is the type of guy that rides a 3 wheel motorcycle and never swims after eating too
Hahahah
Ah this is not an Arch to a doorway! It's an opening to an archway or Installing a curved arch in a standard doorway
The title is saying “How to (add an): Arch to a Doorway”. It’s worded/punctuated awkwardly.
the upspeak is really annoying. YOU ARE SHOWING US.... YOU ARE THE TEACHER . SO STOP WITH THE 'I DONT REALLY KNOW S#!T' UP SPEAK. thanks
Haha you are right. Thank you 😊 🙏
Random question but how tall are your ceilings??
I’m pretty sure they are 99”
