  • I was in Baghdad from 09 to 10 while in the army and a large majority of people were still hospitable to us. Despite invading their country for what turned out to be no reason they still treated me with kindness and were quick to pass on drinks, snacks and trade cigarettes. It really changed my perspective about everything and was a contributing factor to leaving the army

It brings a tear to my eye that the most beautiful people on this planet are treated with such inhumanity and can bounce back and remain what humanity should all be about. My last trip was to Myanmar in 2017 and once again absolutely beautiful people put through the wringer by way too much internal and external Govt. corruption and self interest. Very sad but anyway keep sharing and rocking dude, it's these experiences that will really change your perspective on humanity...

  • It's really strange how they spend money to welcome you, even knowing that perhaps they won't see ever again. It's like hospitality from their heart. I guess that's why those people withstand all the wars and suffering and still finding hope. I guess Islam is not an evil religion as the media portrays it.
