Trying to get into drifting without spending a small fortune, starting with the redcat RDS chassis, and some yokomo electronics.

That 300z body looks like a typical Street drift beater 😂😂 it's perfect 😂
4wd is still drifting! I love my 4wd drift cars!!!
Also rwd without gyro is still really fun and u can still get real percise with it!
Great video !......I just turned 55 and just bought my first drift car. never done it before. The guys at the club have been great and I think I'm gonna like this . i hope you do too. Good luck and keep us all posted !
Awesome man that's is nice looking car very awesome
Old school Josh?. Then you know using the throttle to control the slide is called power sliding. Drifting is a uncontrolled lateral motion.😜 The project looks interesting, the 300 is the right vibe. Stay qualified for your "I collect projects" mug by building a drift rod. 😄
I love the vulva I mean Volvo, and tge 300z is perfect for a drifter body.
Gorilla mounts are by far the best magnet mount I’ve used. I used other magnet mounts and when sliding into things it would pop the body out of whack. I miss RC drifting for sure.
Congrats Josh, I have a feeling you're going to fall down the drifting rabbit hole after this lol. 👍👍
Watch that Volvo around SBG!😂
I think a few too many people over look the fun part, if you enjoy it that's really all that matters.
That Volvo 745 is cool i have one my self but have not put any paint on it
My first time drifting was frustrating, like all things takes practice.
I got hooked back in April and now have 2 completely different high-end chassis. Definitely servo/gyro, and throttle control.
I dunno about the roller kit but my buddy Troy over at roadside RC says this is the best out of the box drifter there is, and he has a bunch of high end ones from yokomo and I don’t even know what. I don’t know much about drifting, we’ve got a hobby upgraded Walmart drift car but these rds cars look legit
Shock pliers are the greatest thing ever for building shocks and turnbuckles
Those ABC hobbies bodies are actually pretty nice.
I just got into drifting myself! Got the mst and I’m so hyped on it. And now I’m like yeaaahhh I want the yokomo gyro advance up the Wazzoo hahahaha it’s just neat I love it I keep practicing all the time! Can’t wait to see all you do with this! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
The Nissan be a good drift missile shell. That Volvo shell is awesome I would have gone with red but still love it!
I wanna get a rwd drift kit but even this "cheap" redcat kit is a little over 500 bucks cad shipped without electronics or body, transmitter ect. Which doesn't make much sense to me, I got a mst xxxr kit with body electronics transmitter gyro all that for 435 cad all in shipped just had to build paint rip. Ended up converting to rwd with some Sakura d4 front arms and made some carbon steering arm extensions (maybe cost 24 bucks for the d4 arms and extensions where free) its been working great at my local track.
😱🤩💥💯👍🌟🎉
I used to have an MST RMX 2.0 and I'd highly suggest you move the motor to its lowest position. Idk why the rc drifting scene wants to have the weight up high to force the body to roll because in real life, most drifters have extremely high spring rates which prevent body roll. I had my motor set to the lowest in my RMX and it was fantastic even straight out of the box exactly like MST intended.
I just like the added realism body roll gives
I know this redcat shell mounts/locks are locked at the front and rear. Do you have a video on how to mount your other shell outside the Redcat brand? Did you buy a post kit or magnetic kit?
I did get a cheap magnetic kit on amazon and I absolutely hate it. Have to redo it, no video on it yet.
any update on this, how did this chassis do? i had a mst 2.0 few years back and im looking into doing another "mid" budget build
I talk more about it in the video from my trip to the hobby shop. The car did excellent out there, my driving needs a lot of attention. Lol. I let some skilled folks drive it, and it did fantastic
Isn't there an adjustable wheel base?
It has a little room for adjustment, Im just sticking to the setup I was given. Its suppose to be perfectly dialed for the surface Ill be on. Plus the volvo has pretty small wheel openings, didnt want to hack it up. Shiny cars make me get weird, lol
@@RCeveryday I can feel that, just wondering..thanks 😊
maybe someday people recognize your good videos
