Lea Salonga and Bamboo Manalac were heartbroken when none of the coaches of "The Voice of the Philippines" turned their chairs for former Imago vocalist Aia de Leon on Sunday's episode of the hit talent search.

It was really a mistake allowing professionals to join a singing contest. Different leagues. Chito Miranda and Ely Buendia can never win a singing contest. But we all know how good and successful they are in their musical careers.

The song didn't really give justice to Aia amazing voice. It's sad. I dugged the old albums, and man.. the memories flowed in.. her songs with Imago are so precious.

Maybe she "failed" making any judge turn around for her. But she definitely didn't fail by pushing her limits and going out of her comfort zone.. And by doing that, she's gonna grow more and come back a better than ever performer. Cheers to Aia!
Hindi kasi ako nanonood ng tv then while throwing back song mood ako i went to this video... its so sad to see her na mag audition dito because way back then theyre so admirable i mean i really love her and the band kasi bibihira sa music artist ang may original at unique na song... through Imago I can bravely say Im proud pinoy.... and this is OPM sounds like... hindi puro revive! Hindi puro gaya!!

I like the old Imago. the first album has full of mysteries. I wish she will go back to that style. That is the original Aia de Leon. Songs like idlip, Hiwaga, Bathala. Those are the songs that you could not hear in a mediocre radio station. They are almost like Sugar Hiccup genre. Something like Cocteu Twins.
Their music in “Probably Not But Most Definitely” album, the poetry in the lyrics and how she sang every song still brings me feels to this day. Sinusundan ko ang mga gigs nila back when I was still in college. Pang-Diyosa ang level ng boses ni Aia, and she’s so brave to take that humble pie to further her dreams kaya walang nasayang. Good luck, I hope you find yourself writing songs from your heart again and sing them like you’ve always did before. 😊🍸

I remember I had an Imago playlist from my laptop (I have the CD), one of my students in 2006 saw it on my laptop screen, he asked me if he could copy it. "Of course," I said. He's also a fan.
I like her angelic voice so much... iba lang talaga ang timpla ng voice niya as compare sa inaasahan nila ng mga judges... sarah just got wrong interpretation it's not that she's talking about but its really the way what her voice dance and it's good, but i respect those judges, but this time we all watcher are also a judges.. and for me she has just amazing voice...

Wag mo masyado palakihin or isipin na nag “fail” as a whole. The voice to, ang goal is for you to get the coaches’ approval to get to the next level ng competition. Kung walang nag turn kahit isang coach eh di nagfail ka. Duhhh 🙄
There's nothing wrong with the title. She did fail to make it in the voice ph. Simple as that. Nowhere in the title did it say she failed in life.

This is the beauty of blind auditions. If the judges knew at first that it was Aia of Imago they would've let her in. :)

Felt bad that she didn't make it cause Im a huge fan of Imago. But still, Im happy to see and hear Aia sing once again, its been awhile since I heard her perform live, and that was way back 3 years ago during Imago's album launch.

Naiyak ako when I saw this. I saw Imago once, chubby pa siya nun, kulot ang hair pero maangas sa stage. Superb. She's an equivalent of Cynthia Alexander for me.

i miss aia on her comfort zone. with all due respect, May gusto kong vocalist ng Imago si Aiacand not Mayumi, but Mayumi is a good sub.. but Im remembering Imago as Aia until now.

I love AIA... galing nya... invited ung Imago sa PINANGAT FESTIVAL sa Camalig Albay. I was there watching them... grabe galing ng Lead singer AIA de Leon. Da best...
Waaa ang ganda ng bises niya saka ang ganda niya kakauwi ko lng ngayon haha galing ako sa concert nila dito saamin sila kasi yung guest na banda samin sobrang na enjoy ko yung performance nila haha grabe ubusan mg boses na miss ko kaagad siya haha saka ang jolly niyang tao and super friendly

For this one, I agree. In any franchise of The Voice, there is always a couple of regrets the coaches have to go through. Voice PH is no exception. There are a lot of factors why a coach won't turn. The number of similar sounding voice they already have in their team can be a factor too.
I admire her more for not many people would come off their comfort zones like she did..this may not be an avenue for her talent but that doesnt mean shes less of an artirst,its the opposite actually..she wants to learn a different angle of music platform..thats willingness to learn that we all should emulate in whatever field.

This only proves how fair The Voice is when it comes to judging the contestants.Kahit sino ka pa, kahit malayo na naabot mo or kahit na amateur ka pa lang, hindi basehan un ng talent sa pagkanta.Pantay ang laban sa blind auditions kasi hindi nakikita ng judges kung sino ung kumakanta.Everything is based dun sa performance mo.Hindi naman nila sinabing hindi magaling si Aia, may kulang lang talaga kaya hindi sila umikot. Dont take it against the judges.
Hearing or listening lang naman babasehan dyan. So, ibig sabihin di sya magaling kasi di napili? Nagpapakita lang na hindi pa ganun kagaling kumilatis mga judges

sometimes pushing yourself to the limit is not a good idea because you'll never know you are already in the edge if you push too hard you gonna be fall you should have extra careful

I worked with Aia de Leon about a decadeago in a traffic update provider company for radio, and just like a composer/song writer myself, I have to admire her confidence. Truth is, she and the band Imago is already an institution in Philippine Music, why let yourself be judged in an entirely different realm? You are far better of an artist as compared to these judges...please continue with new compositions and never make the same mistake again little sister. Godspeed!

She got a great voice. Wrong choice of song talaga! Hay, sayang... She had attempts to change the attack of the song but it didn't work for her. Sayang!
Wag ka po mag alala .. alam ng buong Filipino people kung gaano kaganda ang boses mu. Lahat ng mga kanta mu sumikat. Napapakingan ng lahat. Sa videoke, sa bar, sa radio station, sa mga tambay jan sa kanto na kinakanta mga songs mu or maging sa mga battle of the bands.. I admire you kasi nagawa mu ipush yung limit mo. Kasi dapat naman talaga sa mga filipino artist yan eh.. na wag lang mag focus sa kung anu yung nakasanayan na nilang genre. Na dapat din nilang hamunin ang sarili nila or mag try ng panibagong janra . Dun mu malalaman kung isa ka ngang tunay na music artist.

Because if you notice, Bamboo's style isn't all about how "big" the voice is or kung gano kadami siya magbirit. Its always about the feeling. That's really his style and that's what he will most probably look for. Judges don't base just on how good the singer is, but also if they feel they can work with the signer. Yun.

yung kanta kaseng pinili nya di ganon talaga ka especial, tsaka sobrang common nung kantang the way you make me feel, dapat pinili nya medyo malapit sa genre nya noon, siguro dapat pumili sya either queen or radiohead or eraserheads na kanta kase yung the way you make me feel ata kinanta na ng ilang beses sa mga singing contest, alam mo yun di na sya ganon ka dating. mas maganda nga kung kinanta nya bamboo or rivermaya during bamboo times na kanta eh... sayang. walang power eh. eh rakista yan ang isang hinahanap mo sa mga rakista is yung power nung song, yung the way you make me feel kase more on pop so kung gusto mong mapansin dapat talaga sasayaw ka gagalaw ka unlike rock sa rock kase is more like power ng voice combined dun sa instruments dapat pag tumugtog makakaramdam ka ng wave na talagang mapapa talon ka kung alam mo yung pretender ng foo fighters ma iintindihan mo sinasabe ko yun bang malalabas yung emotions mo, yun ang nag kamali sya tryouts yan eh dapat di sya nag experiment sa try outs dapat sa tryouts ang dala nya agad yung kung san sya magaling which is rock... sayang.

Common? Really? The way you make me feel is a hard song to sing. Lots of falsettos and should be sung with power and life. Her already good voice doesn't fit the song. That's all.

The irony is mas sikat pa si Aia kaysa dun sa nanalo ng The Voice Season 1 in terms of music. Kapag tinanong mo sa masa kung sino yung Imago? Syempre isasagot nila, Taralets, tara lets!. Bale tumatak na si Aia sa tenga ng mga tao. Eh kapag tinanong mo sa masa kung sino si Mitoy? "AHh yung nanalo sa The Voice na nagsisitcom na ngayon"

sorry pero wrong move sa kanya. Sikat sya bakit kailangan nya pang pumasok dito? Pangalawa paano yung hindi sikat kung nakapasok sya. Isang pwesto ang nawala kung sakaling makapasok sya. Pangatlo nasa music industry na sya imposible wala syang kilalang music producer na mag produce ng album nya. Dami nyqng sikat na kanta para sumali sya dito. Ang point ng contest eh pasikatin ang hindi mabigyan ng chance at yung hindi kilala.

The upbeat version of Rainsong is the best. They sang it at UP Fair 2005. I wish I was able to record their performance (I joined in the mosh pit hehe), none of those uploaded here on youtube gave that same epic feel. I wish one day Imago would have a reunion and they would sing Rainsong again the way it's meant to be played.

I think you joined a wrong competition or write some better songs, and have the courage to do it again. you are one of my favorite band and I don't like other band artist would exist right now. I still love your style. no this would not be the end of your career. life has begun now and you will suceed just only believed on your self. Imago is one of the best band.

At least Sarah was brave enough to tell her why she did not turn. There is nothing wrong about criticizing an established singer most especially na sumali sya ng singing contest. Hindi naman sguro sa hindi sya nirespeto ni Sarah. For the others kasi, I mean they did not turn so at least tell her why because you clearly did not turn as you were not impressed or there is something missing sa pagkanta nya.

Sa palagay ko, ibinigay ni Sir Bamboo kay Ma'am Sarah at Ma'am Leah ang pagkakataon na pindutin ang buton at paikutin ang upuan. Siguro dahil sa piniling song ni Miss Aia kaya inisip ni Sir Bamboo na ibigay ang pagpapasya sa dalawang female co-judges nya. Dahil dun nagulat sya at nanghinayang ng makita kung sino yung kumanta. On my own observation, palagay ko pinipili ni Sir Bamboo yung mga contestants na ang kinakanta eh yung pasok sa genre ng tugtugan nya.
