1:05:21 Conclusion / Advice / Summary of benefits of reading aloud
In reply to a couple of comments, reading aloud might be problematic for learners of English who don’t yet pronounce all their words correctly. In that case, reading along (or shadowing) while someone else reads aloud, could be a good idea.
I thank you for this wonderful lesson, Sir!
Hello from Thailand Luke! I do agree with you that shadowing is a good method for practicing pronouciation. It would be nice if you could make a special episode that you read a story for us as an orinal story as you normally do in your short story episode and then you have another section that you pause after each sentence (or a bit of sentence) so we can repeat after you. As I listen to your podcast while driving, it is impossible to press the pause botton by myself. Thank you in advance for your consideration.😊 Ps. You are my first (and favourite) youtuber I left my comment!
@@nina_nj3965 that’s coming in the next episode!
It’ll be perfect if every episode is provided with PDF transcript. Then I can read aloud with Luke every day.😊
Hello Luke, I am a spanish speaker. Before internet, there was difficult to hear a foreing language, so I studied written English by myself. Today I have a very hard problem: when any English speaker talks to me I've problem because I have never heard many words even I know it in written mode. Now I have to beging to study from zero.
I learn English and Germany. And I read it out loud whenever possible. My pronunciation improved much.
Du hast damit recht❤
wow, I can imagine how it's difficult. I tried learning German and English but it wasn't for me. My primary goal a superb English level.
Hi Luke I am a doctor from India and i have been suffering from depression and Ocd for the past 25 years. For people suffering from OCD and depression concentration can be a very big issue .They are never in the present moment. I can definitely vouch that reading out loud helps you stay in the moment and helps form memories .
I wish your good health.
Thank you. You are right, that was the way that helped me a lot to study Russian in Odessa, USSR. ❤
Hi Does having OCD affect your job as a doctor? And how do you cope with it? I can imagine that your OCD becomes worse when you are stressful.
@soemoe5087 True bro I have been suffering from OCD from high school days with depression Bullying in High school ,parental separation and stressful medical profession has only compounded the matter But I believe in persisting and hanging in there I believe in karma if I remain honest and things will change one day

@@englishwithbolat7495 Do you still looking for someone to talk?
When we read out loud😊😊😊 all we read stick to our brain memory stronger and will never vanish despite of the fact that we aren't conscious of that but it still in our memory. Reading is the most important aspect of learning English and generally languages, listening and speaking face to face also come in handy but reading first, then the rest. From my own experience reading out loud is essential and it works. Best of luck 🙂
I’m really into this kind of podcast. I’m strengthening my vocabulary and my speaking skill thanks to this. Hope that you will have more episodes like this in the future!

Brilliant way to improve the language! Thanks a lot, Luke
Hi Luke, Firstly, thank you so much for making these high quality episodes for English learners around the world! Answer to your questions at the end: 1. I did read the article aloud at the end and it took 15 minutes to do so. Felt more confident and relaxed towards the end. The words came out easier. 2. What you discussed/ the article you shared was so inspiring that I decided to read out loud an English article everyday (10-15 minutes). Apart from enhancing memory, I believe this is also a good exercise for muscles around the mouth :-) so when it comes to real conversations, I might have better/ quicker reaction and can speak out long sentences more natural. Thanks again and have a good day/ night.

Your voice is so good. Thanks for this video
Greg, great, great lesson Luke👏👏👏👏. I’m reading in this days The Medicis which is a story of the Medici’s Family of Florence. Two days ago I started to read the book aloud because I thought that in this way I will pay more attention to my pronunciation. And I succeed. So it’s absolutely through what the article says……. What the article doesn’t say is that if you are reading in that way, you need to have next to you a glass of water because your mouths, particularly your tongue, will get dried 😊, but the experience is absolutely positive.
