@@iannovak5223 Sorry ? there was Ant, Brunson, Haliburton... all of whom made it past the first round of the playoffs. and with that you lose against Lithuania, Canada and Germany in the same competition? 😂 wake up ! the players I spoke about are pre-retirees at the end of their lives except AD, but given that he is not on the floor very often following injuries...

Banchero, Brunson, Hart, Haliburton, Jackson Jr. Plenty recognisable but could be said that these are not best of the league.
America should bring their best team if they want to win, Imagine not including players like Curry, Durant, Lillard, Tatum, Lebron, Booker, Chris paul, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, Bam Adebayor etc.
I dont know much about basketball but can somebody tell me why no one of the really big names play for USA? (Westbrook, Curry...)

Because they dont really care about the FIBA World Cup. Maybe some of them will show up at the Olympic Games next year, because they deem it more important then the World Cup. Usually american players value a NBA championship higher then any other basketball competition.
a) the Olympics are the big thing prestigewise in the US, therefore some of the big names decline due to their long regular season and playoffs. For them it is more important to rest/heal and be ready for training camp for next season. b) NBA rules and FIBA rules are different, someone like Westbrook, whose main remaining strength is driving towards the basket isn't as effective in FIBA basketball, were big men can stay inside the lane on defense without restrictions, unlike in the US, where there is a defensive three second rule. c) Some of those younger player, who did play (Edwards, Brunson and others), do improve thanks to extra training, better competition, more minutes, more experience and break out in the next season! Hopefully Edwards, whose Timberwolves are in the lead in the west right now, gets better name recognition with a deep playoff run!
@@exilhamburger4802 Thanks for the clarification, much appreciate it. Edwards playing his best season yet. Atleast from what the stats offer. Sadly i can´t watch as much NBA Games as i want. But would prefer the Timberwolves to make a deep playoff run over some other teams in the west.

Well, actually 😊 USA played with second or even third team. I don't see any NBA star. If they've played USA would have won with at least 15 points . No European team has a chance against NBA stars. Of course they don't wanna play for no money so they don't go to such championships like that one :)
Team USA 12 NBA players VS. Team Germany 4 NBA role players European teams now are better. Team USA have to send NBA superstars just to beat them. Next Olympics Team USA even having superstars will have a hard time beating teams like Serbia, Canada, Greece, France...

@@ivantrankarov3185 While I agree with you that there were no Superstars (Curry, James, Durant and so on) on Team USA, there were certainly some (young) Stars in it. Ant Man: Best player of the currently best team in the West, Haliburton: Arguably one of the best guards of the NBA right now (Assist leader of the whole league even), Banchero: Best player of the Magic scoring 23 a game, Bridges: Best player of the Nets ... just a few examples. So the US can send whoever they want, they will always be favored to win a FIBA world cup, but as even James, Wade and Anthony f.e. have learned in 2006, when they were already Superstars in the NBA, FIBA Basketball is different sometimes and they lost in the Semifinals to Greece. I guess we will have to wait for the Olympics next year to determine if european Basketball has a chance against a Superstar-stacked US-Team ;) Germany is certainly the team to beat right now after their WC title.
So are Americans not patriotic enough to play for their country in a world championship? In every other country on earth it is a great honour to do so. Or is capitalism so bad in the USA that the top players are THAT greedy?
No nba star? Haliburton, brunson, edwards are all stars this year. Reaves is the starting point guard for the lakers and won a championship.
