This gasket is a common replacement on n52 engine. You should replace this gasket if there is an oil leak or if you are replacing your oil pan.
I also replaced the engine mounts, as I had vibration at idle in a traffic jam.
In this video, you will see how to remove the oil pan. In the second part, you will see how to install the oil pan with a new gasket.

  • Great movie. Will the subframe go down if I don't disconnect control arms, sway bar links and don't remove wheels ? I am thinking to do that on car ramp with the wheels on because I don't have a lift.

  • Perfect movie. Are oil pan bolts aluminium ? I managed to stick them to the magnet. Why they should be changed ? What if I use high temperature silicon instead of changing them ?

    @BmwFix@BmwFix2 жыл бұрын
    • Thank you! Yes, this is aluminum bolts and they must be replaced. Otherwise, you are going to break them while tightening. I was following repair manual. If you want to try to do this job your way, you can do it. But if something go wrong.... this is a big job to redo.

  • Hello , i have a problem with my e60, the climate controll only blows air through the vents in the middle of the car, on the middle of the dashboard, and in the back of center consoll towards the backseats) not on the sides on the dash or in front of the dash. Do you know what can be the problem?

    @keemoify@keemoify2 жыл бұрын
    • This is could be controller it self not working. Sometimes this problem caused by bad heat valve controller. You need good shop to check all this. If your location some where in BC Canada you can come to shop where I working.

    @iteshnand1492@iteshnand14922 жыл бұрын
    • You need to scan the codes with scanner for BMW, because it could be so many reasons. Is it not even turn on? Or headlight not adjusting to right level?

    • @@mikes.garage sorry, i thought i deleted the comment. I fast forwarded the video to point of removing the subframe without realizing i did just that which lead me to think what’s holding all that weight once you removed the subframe because i was so certain that the transmission bolts and transmission bracket can’t supports all that weight then i watched the video again but starting from the beginning i realized what I’ve missed. Good video! My N52 has 222,500 miles and is still on the original gasket but there is barely any leak but the S85 engine has more oil leak seeping from the oil pan with only 150,000 miles. I enjoyed the video. Thank you
