Is it worth visiting Eden Project, Cornwall? Our top tips for a great day out
In our video we share our experience as we take a tour around the Eden Project, Cornwall, and give you some top tips for an enjoyable day.
The Eden Project is a visitor attraction located in a reclaimed china clay pit, 3 miles from St Austell. There are two large enclosures, dome-like shapes housing 100s of plant species, emulating a natural environment or biome. One is a rain forest - the largest indoor rain forest in the world - and the other emulates the Mediterranean climate.
The project opened in 2001 and aims to build relationships between people and the natural world.
As locals we have visited Eden many times and know a few tips to get ahead of the crowd. In this video we share our knowledge and experience of visiting over the years.

The standard description bit…
We are Sarah and Andrew and we film our walks around Cornwall and publish on KZhead, usually weekly. Sometimes we stay in accommodation in Cornwall and upload our vlog. Sarah is fascinated by sea glass and likes to collect it so there may be the occasional sea glass video too. The channel is a hobby and we both have normal day jobs!

Flowering gingers looked fabulous
Excellent commentary and photography…and tips as well!
What an amazing place! Lush summer blossoms of every shape & hue & that heavenly lavender - I can almost smell it from here. Some obvious-but-important tips: sunscreen, comfy shoes & lightweight, wide-brimmed hat to protect yr melon! Thanks so much for introducing us to the wonders of Cornwall! Your fine work is much appreciated, esp by those of us who long to visit but haven't yet made it there. When we finally do, we'll be well-prepared with a host of sensory-drenched choices in itinerary.
You 2 should be paid for showing Cornwall off, what a cracking film, very well made and presented, a joy to watch.
Oh! I wish we could be paid! Thank you for your lovely comment and appreciation, Sarah :)

I used to live in Snozzel when Eden was being built, so good to see how it has developed. Now stuck on a real tropical island!

I love Eden at Christmas with the ice rink and the snow machine. Birds and insects in the Rainforest Biome sound good. Thanks for the lovely video.
Very very nice guys...
Thanks! 😃
Well done video! Concise, practically informative and shows every aspect of the inner dome environments and lovely outdoor gardens! Thank you, Sarah and Andrew.
Thank you very much! Sarah :)
You two are so lovely
Perfect video as always, we’re visiting in April having not been for many years, so the top tips were very useful, thank you x

Very nice project, a great place to explore! 👌❤️😍
When I went it poured with rain as always.
I went when it first opened. It has grown enormously. Would live to visit again. Beautiful place.
Luv eden project st austell
Hi Sarah & Andrew. I enjoyed your Eden project vlog. Making me want to see it myself. Marie
"We make little videos"...😆😅 What you really do is bringing Cornwall to the people, showing its beautiful nature and hidden places, giving historical infomations, making baking videos, filming spectacular views, also some humor and fun, re-filming Film places...and....and. LITTLE =😆😅🤣 Thank you a little for all this ❣
Glad you like them! And thank you!! Sarah :)
Hello from Italy. I support you my friend 👍+🔔🔔
Stunning flowers🌺🌼💐🏵️ and plantation🌴🌵🌿🌱Thank so much for the helpful tips👏
My pleasure 😊Sarah :)
Thank you for the lovely visual walk though Eden. I could almost smell all the flowers, especially the sweet peas. Very special video.🐝🐞🐜🌷🌼🌻
All of the fragrances and colours were a delight! Sarah :)
Another great video!! We love visiting the Eden Project, not able to get down this year so glad we do not get to miss out as you have visited for us. Xx
Thank you. Beautiful. We loved Eden when we visited Cornwall. Shame the flowers weren’t quite out but we still loved it.
Glad you enjoyed it, Sarah :)
We visited Eden when it was a year old. We loved the tropical biome as we were due to move to Malaysia and ended up living there for seventeen years.
Love, Eden, fascinating place. Has it captured a tiny slice of Malaysia? Sarah :)
Hi Guys, great to see you at Eden..my home town 👌👍😁. I must admit that I haven't been for ages, so must make an effort to go more. The lavenders are definitely my favourite I think 💝. Have you been to Heligan gardens... couldn't see it in your video list but I might have missed it...if not I think it would be a great one for you 👍. I'm still catching up on your fab videos and enjoying every minute...you guys are so lovely, funny and informative...a pleasure to watch 😁. Keep up the great work 😊👏😘
We have not filmed Heligan, although we have visited but not for several years. Not sure if we will make a trip there as garden videos don't tend to do well for us, Sarah :)
My one regret in life was not getting to see the ‘Eden Project’ it just never happened, and of cause it never will now, but thanks to you Sarah and Your wonderful sidekick Andrew I am enjoying every minute of your visit and commentary, and filming to, the Lavender is my favourite plant 🪴 the smell must be delicious, I used to grow it and make lavender bags for the home, your tips will be invaluable to the lucky visitors who are able to make the trip, one thing I noticed not many people wearing face coverings to say so many people in close proximity in a humid environment! thank you both for another wonderful experience, I am now going to watch it again and again I think, there is so much to take in! 👌💐🌴🥀🍀🌻🌾🌿👏
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and glad you have too! Sarah :)
You must go to the Gardens Of Heligan.
Heligan is my favourite location….Eden project looked quite tatty on our last visit..in need of some TLC now
Looks a great place....nice relaxing video 👍
It's an incredible place, even just the engineering involved is fascinating! Sarah :)
Good Heavens you two, what a superb video, a real treat for the eyes. So much color and beauty all around, hope all is well your way , and of course, Lyla and Milo send a great big hello to your fur babies 😁 much health and happiness your way , Lori
Cheers, Lori! Sarah :)
Wonderful video as expected ❤ And very beautiful filming. If all goes as planned, I'll be there in 2023 👍😄 And the zip wire is on my list. Thank you for sharing! Torunn 🥰
Oh yes! Enjoy the zip wire!! Sarah :)
I've been to Heligan but somehow never managed to get to Eden. I watched your Christmas visit which was lovely. It was a beautiful day when you visited but I know you are having a bit of a time with Storm Evert at the mo....a friend, on holiday there, sent us a dashcam vid of her trip to Padstow yesterday and you couldn't see the road for rain & mist!! Extremes of weather. The lavender looked wonderful...we have a huge lavender farm near us down here and fields look fab at this time of year. Hope the storm has passed now. J x
We luckily escaped with no damage, we were worried because we have several large trees near our house in full leaf so very relieved no harm! Eden is amazing! Not been to Heligan for a while, I think about 20 years so probably changed a lot since our last visit. We tried a couple of years ago but the overflow car park was a rather wet, muddy field and with so many cars slipping, we abandoned it and went to Meva! Sarah :)
Lovely video, as always! You are both so 'normal'!!...so good to get practical top tips from 'ordinary' people - meant in a good way! It's like recommendations from friends. Can't believe Andrew wasn't on the zip-wire!! Thanks both, will try to get back there soon.
Yes! Thank you! Andrew has a touch of vertigo so maybe not for him! Perhaps when we were younger!! Sarah :)
Lovely,. Me and my son went around 10 yrs ago, we had a pasty and a cream tea and it was expensive,, to be expected ,, But, TOP TIP !!---- When we went there, there was a sign, "FREE JAM AND CLOTTED CREAM" so pile your plates full of the stuff !!!!!!!🍓🥟😁👍, everyone else followed ,ha
Sounds great!
Great review and thanks for the tips, we're holidaying in Devon this year and my wife has wanted to visit Eden for a few years now. As a photographer I'm pleased to see I'll have fun too!
Plenty to see and do! Sarah :)
I went in1986 Eden project
Had a lovely visit there several years ago. However whilst we were there there was a cloudburst and one of the car parks flooded! We were in one of the biomes and the noise was incredible, never heard anything like it - you could hardly be heard shouting! When it eased iff i went outside and paddles in several inches of water around the biomes. Must go revisit
Oh wow! Sounds like quite an experience! Sarah :)
This on my doorstep, you missed best bit the poppy and wild flower fields in the Eden Estate. Hope you both had a great day out . You need to come back at Christmas and visit at night to see the Christmas lights.
They have visited at Christmas.
Good video with some good tips. We haven't visited for a number of years, it still looks good. If you have a dog with you, is there anywhere you can safely leave it if you want to go into the domes?
Not that we noticed! I think someone would have to wait outside. Sarah :)
I remember the Christmas video that you shared it was awesome❤💚 I wanted to mention a word about how important ants are to some plant's I collect rare plant's and there actually is a plant that has ants living inside the hollow chambers of it's caudex( the base of the plant)it is genus myrmmecodia commonly called the ant plant 🐜the ants actually fertilize these plant's💚
Thanks for sharing!! Very interesting! Sarah :)
My first tip is make sure you’ve got loads of money it’s very very expensive and that’s just the entry fee, take a packed lunch too I’m a local so know what I’m talking about
Did John Steinbeck write his book 'East of Eden' very close by? ....... maybe a little to the east? Lol.
I don't get it. Why do you go?
tip 16 - if you see me at this place buy me an ice cream
Waste of money. Avoid.
