A month after preordering the dbrand Ghost Case for my iPhone 15 Pro Max, my case finally arrived. They claim that the case will never yellow, but there are other issues to worry about.

1 week update with the dbrand Ghost Case. The back is showing a LOT of micro scratches, especially around the elevated MagSafe magnet. This is just from daily use (inside pocket, on charging dock, on table, in hand). Phone was taken out/in of the case 2 times and a few more scuffs were added on the inside of the case as well. I can validate this baby scratches easy. The only reason I keep it on is it feels great while holding the phone. Not worth $50 tho.

Really hard to understand what went wrong in r&d. Did they not test using the case at all, taking the phone in and out? How it scratches so easily when $10 cases don’t makes no sense. (Unless they just used the cheapest material available).
It’s a really nice looking case too. Not sure if you read the review from Verge awhile back talking about the scuffs on their preproduction unit. You would think that they would have looked into this.

I preordered the Ghost case and screen protector for my 15 ProMax months ago and the screen protector came first and one had a big scratch. The case came about two weeks ago and it too had a scratch . This case is a scratch nightmare.
On the bright side, you got a matching set 😅. Seriously though, super disappointed as I’m sure a lot of people are with this case. Are you going to try to return yours?
I just unboxed mine for an S22 Ultra. It was on backorder for a couple of months. Maybe that's because they corrected the issues you have. I love it so far. It fits well, no scratches, it is tight all the way around and it feels more secure in my hand than my Spigen. I have had probably15-20 different Spigen cases over the years and the clear ones yellow way too soon. So yes they are cheaper, but they are junk in a couple of months. I will still use my Spigens for travelling because of the stand and another one with the card holder. But, I think the Ghost case will be my everyday one. Also, they get credit for not screwing me on the shipping. I live in the UAE, shipping was free and I received it 3 days after it was shipped. I couldn't have revceived it that fast within Canada.
Oh that’s interesting. Maybe they did correct the issue after they started making the iPhone version. They did say they’re going to correct the faulty cases once they get all the preorders out, so they probably did figure it out. Oh I know about the yellowing on the Spigen cases. My gf is using one on her 14 and it was so yellow, I thought that was the color of the case, until she told me it’s supposed to be all clear 🤣

I just unboxed mine today, it didn’t have any scratches or imperfections on it at all. Good to know I’ll have to take care of it though, so prevent it from getting scratched. Although the apple logo will bother the hell out of me, it’s a really good looking case overall so I’ll keep it on
Yeah, the Apple logo kind of triggers my OCD a little bit, I didn’t want to sound too picky about it though.
I got this case recently for my Pixel 8 Pro and had a similar experience. Packaging looks very well and sturdy box. Phone case not so much. Magnets aren't that strong compared to other MagSafe cases. Mine also came with scuffs on the inside of the case out the box as well but they were faded foggy scratches that I couldn't even clean off. The clear material also scratches very easily. Within one time of using the same Anker MagSafe charger that you have I can see a substantial amount of scratches on the raised MagSafe area of the case. On the hunt for a really good MagSafe case and this Ghost one for $50 definitely isn't worth it for the amount of cons!
It really is not a good case, especially for the price. All the scuffs and scratches on it, it shouldn’t look like we’ve been tossing the case around for months. And yeah, that magnet is really weak. If I don’t place this case perfectly on my desk charger, it’ll fall off. I really was hoping to love this case too
If they focused on the R&D on the case instead of packaging, they would have delivered.
The DBrand grip has improved a lot over time- I’ve even seen improvements in a later version for the same phone .im gonna guess they had a batch that was “good” enough and made corrections for the next batch
Dbrand has acknowledged that there has been a manufacturing issue with some of the Ghost Cases and have said they’ll correct the issues after they’ve handled all the preorders. dbrand, from my experience, has always been good with their customer service and I’m glad they’re addressing the issue with these pre-scratched cases.
So Spigen’s $18.99 case does a better job with MagSafe accessories than DBrand’s $50 case.
It definitely has a stronger hold than the Ghost Case. I also don’t like how the Ghost Case is raised off the case.
I use the Spigen case and I’m loving it it’s working really well nice grip MagSafe with strong hold
@@jenishpatel4241 yeah, I’m really thinking of going back to the Spigen case. This case has fallen off my desk dock a couple of times now when I try to rotate it, never had that issue with the Spigen
I got the Ghost case, and also got a dbrand skin. After applying the skin, it took a little extra effort to get the case on. It peeled back one of the corner side edges of my skin, so i'm guessing it'll get worse if I ever remove my phone from the case. Other than that, the case does a good job of hiding the seams of my skin. I'm happy with it so far, and even dropped it today, so it's got a scuff, but my phone is just fine. Case is doing what a case is supposed to do. The nature of clear cases is they have a gloss like finish to them, so in the right light I can see finger prints and smudges all over it. Compared to other clear cases I've tried, it's definitely a huge improvement. while it's the best clear case I've personally had so far, I don't know if clear cases are for me in the long run. Once this case has run it's course (because I drop kick it too much, or when I get a new phone in a couple years, whichever comes first) I'll probably go back to a non-clear case from another brand. All in all, I'm happy with it for what it is, and it lets me have a cool skin visible through the case, so it's a neat effect.
I normally don’t do clear cases either but I wanted to give it a try with the 15. I liked my “temporary “ Spigen case so much on the 15 that I ended up getting it for my 12 too. I think I’m in the same boat as you though. Once it’s time to replace this Ghost Case, I don’t think I’ll stick with clear cases. Which skin did you get btw? I really like dbrand skins, I have the Damascus on my MacBook right now.
I had bought the Spigen Ultra Hybrid to hold me over while waiting for the Ghost case. It is an all around better case for like a third of the price. dbrand way overhyped the ghost and the QC was bad. Mine came in with scratches and then after a day worth of use... there are micro scratches all over the back just from my pocket. It may not yellow, but what is the point if it is scratched!
I really like the Spigen Ultra Hybrid case. Mine has been holding up pretty well. I know it’ll eventually yellow, but even if I replace it with another Ultra Hybrid, it’ll still be cheaper than the Ghost Case.
I like the grip on the edges of the case and also the black lip that runs around the perimeter of the screen- it gives the illusion of no case. I came from a clear apple case and definitely like the dbrand case more- it feels much thinner. I don’t use MagSafe accessories other than the wallet, seems like the magnet is about as strong as the apple cases which is good enough for me. I have a matte skin under my case and maybe the pattern has distracted me from micro scratches? It’s honestly something I haven’t paid attention to. I’d rather the case get scratches over my phone so it doesn’t really bother me. It’s a good case imo
Yeah, I’m thinking with a skin underneath all the micro scratches won’t look as obvious. I really do like the feel of the case too and it still keeps the case thin. And dbrand has been handling this extremely well, looks like we’ll all be receiving their updated case around April at no extra charge. I’m sure my review of that case will come out much more positive than how this one came out 😅
Reminds me of their first release of the Grip when it was just a bumper. It was a cool idea, but was a pretty iffy execution and they iterated and refined it. Kind of expected this one to be more refined as a V1 because of that past experience, but I guess its a little deja vu. I like aspects of it, but I'll definitely be waiting to try it. Although have become more and more comfortable with going caseless so who knows.
My apple clear case is already 1 year. With no scratches and yellowing. I guess the price of it says it all. One thing I didn’t like about it is its grip. But overall it is really a good case comparing it to this and to casetify which are very easy to scratch. 😢
I have to check that one out. My gf has been using the OtterBox Symmetry clear on her 13 and it yellowed so bad, I thought it was a color accent of the case, but she told me it was supposed to be all clear 😂
The side of your apple case is yellow as hell, unless you never go outside in the sun
As dbrand claims. They are working on a better version of the ghost case with scratch resistant so people who are buying the ghost case right now are gonna receive a second case next year for free and for better experience.
Their customer service is amazing. They really didn’t have to do this too. Now we all get to use a case basically for free and then replace it with a brand new one. Not really much to complain about now (don’t mind that my video is basically all complaining 😅)

I really question when reputable case brand such as dbrand , spigen , rhinoshield or otterbox charging ridiculous prices for their clear cases . Most of them claims that their clear cases can prevent yellowing for a longer period but actually don’t . You can actually get cheaper case & that will give almost the same protection . From my experiences. The longest clear cases that can prevent yellowing was from torras ( 6 months) My current new case is from sanptoch ( diamond clear case ) . Rated to prevent fall from 1.2 M 😅. I am okay using this current case. Other cases which i used interchangeably is caudabe sheath.
This is the first clear case I’ve ever bought for any of my phones (not counting the Spigen that I got to temporarily use until this Ghost Case came in). So my only comparison would be against the Spigen case. I have read that all the “non yellowing” cases will all eventually yellow at some point. I went with this one because I liked how thin it was and of course the “anti-yellow” marketing. Been pretty disappointed with my experience so far. I’m already looking for other cases to replace this one. I’ll have to take a look at the Sanptoch case you’re using.
I bought many cases and they always got yellow pretty fast and now I only but the ones from apple because they don't get yellow for some reason.
Waited for mine for over a month, when it finally came it looked so pretty, no scratches whatsoever. When I put it on, I noticed there was a small mark on the corner so I tried to remove the case to try and give it a wipe and to my disappointment, I couldn’t remove it so I gave up and put my case back on. When I looked at it again, there was another scratch on a different corner this time… it was actually the phone’s corner itself that was scratching the freaking thing, what kind of case gets scratched by what it’s supposed to be protecting???
Right! I get that clear cases are going to scratch, but I don’t think my week old case should look like I’ve been tossing around for months now. It’s only been a week and mine has a bunch of micro scratches on the back. I’m not mistreating it or anything either. It’s a shame because I really wanted to like this case.

Glad I canceled my pre order. I contacted support wondering why the order had not shipped and the representatives (multiple I spoke to) were super rude and acted like children. I'll never be spending a penny with them again. Awful company.

Yeah, even if your case came in flawless, it’ll be scratched and scuffed up within minutes. I know the Spigen I was using will eventually yellow, but I kind of prefer that case over this one. Still sticking it out though to see this case holds up, but it hasn’t been looking good. I actually posted pictures in my community wall how it looks after a week. Tons of micro scratches which I can only assume came from putting it in and out of my pockets. Very disappointing case.
Does it show a lot of fingerprints on the back?
I’m not seeing it gather fingerprints too much. Definitely nowhere near as much as the Spigen case I was using.
I also got mine with scratches, and it feels cheap as hell. Very disappointed, especially for that price. I have no idea how people still defend dbrand after they basically scammed us with this case.
I’ve only bought one other product from them, a skin for my MacBook and I do like it (might be pricey for what it is though). But yeah, this case is very disappointing. Just got mine for the pixel 8 pro. Scratched before i even put it on. It also affected my dbrand skin when i pulled it off... dissapointed. Huge was of $.
Oof. It’s a pretty tight fit without a skin, so I can see how it could have pulled it off from the edges. Did you contact support about the skin? I had an issue with their skins before and they sent me a brand new one for free.

@@ROAMitRALPH, I am actually waiting on Phone Rebel to release their clear case. Have you ever tried that brand? The company was started by Everything Apple Pro (KZheadr, in case you didn’t know). His cases have gotten better and better with each year! I am waiting on his Gen 5 clear case to drop.
I use a insignia clear case on my 15 Pro Max, its been great.
I haven’t a chance to try that one out, but I can almost guarantee that it’s better than this Ghost Case 😅
Just received the Ghost case for my 15 Pro Max two days ago. I've always heard that the more resistant to yellowing a case is, the more easily it scratches. So since this case has a lifetime warranty against yellowing, it makes sense that it scratches easily. I received mine with no scratches and so far so good after two days. The magnet is average to slightly above average. My Spigen Ultra Hybrid case has slightly stronger magnets and my old Rebel Flex for my 13 PM had significantly stronger magnets. Absolutely love this case. The textured side grip is incredible (and contrasts with the very smooth backside) and I can't stop looking at this beautiful case. The buttons are very tactile and the best I've ever had on a case. The lower lip is loose as several reviewers have noted. No regrets.
I’m jealous you received a flawless case lol. I know I probably came off a little negative in this video, but I really do like the case. Sounds like you were using the Ultra Hybrid like I was until the Ghost Case arrived. I think if I didn’t have that case first, I wouldn’t be as bummed about the magnets. They hold strong enough for my needs.

Yeah, I’ve noticed a few micro scratches on the outside of my case and I haven’t dropped it or had it in any sketchy situations, mostly just in/out of my pocket or my desk stand. Pretty disappointed with this case.
I’ve rocked the Dbrand grip case for years. This one is indeed a huge disappointment, especially for the price. I’m currently rocking a 5 dollar Ali express clear case with a tempered glass back that does the same exact thing as the ghost but with a more premium feel because of the glass

I love dbrand products. My buddy has the grip case on his 14 and it’s a really nice case, definitely has a good ‘grip’ on it too. They definitely missed the mark on this one.

Yeah, I am disappointed. The raised magnet on the case is terrible for the Apple wallet. I noticed the magnet seemed weak compared to the Apple silicon case I’ve been using. I thought I’d try it anyway, and regret it. Sad to say, my first day using it today, I ended up losing my wallet. It really sucks because I fly out tomorrow morning. Good thing I have a passport. I’ll be writing dBrand and expressing my disappointment.
Oh sorry about your wallet. Yeah, having the magnet raised off the case seemed odd to me. The magnets aren’t very strong already and then being able to rock whatever was sitting on the magnet seems like an oversight. Safe travels wherever you’re heading to 🍻

My Ghost case for s23 ultra is same shit as your's. Everywhere scratches on hole case and magsafe is not compatible!!
I was wondering if it was just the iPhone cases, but I guess not. Yeah, it’s a terrible case. After a week of having it on, it’s scratched even more. Yeah, clear cases will scratch, but I don’t think my week old case should look like I’ve had it on for a few months already.

Brands i always go with.. 1. Spigen (GOD Tier) don’t mention it. 2. UAG (OG Rugged) u know it. 3. Casetify (i don’t care what they did, as long they keep making great cases) the clear case over a year still has no yellow sign.
Bruh I got mines today and it has some weird ass smudges on the back of the case and I can't wipe it off. I waited so long for mines to come and I'm so disappointed.
Yeah, it’s rare to find the people that have had no issues with their case. Dbrand has said that they’ll correct this, just contact them with pictures and a brief description, BUT they’re focused on getting all the preorders out first so it might be awhile until they get to the returns/exchanges.

I received mine on Friday. Flawless out of the box - no scuffs or scratches. Additionally, there’s no play at the bottom lip, clicky/tactile buttons, strong MagSafe magnet, feel good in the hand/great grip and thin. The Ghost lives up to the hype. This case is a looker too.

Same here. This case looks and feels amazing. Well, the bottom lip has some play, but it is negligible. I have the Ghost case for the 15 Pro. The case for the 15 Pro Max is bigger, thus more material at the bottom lip that is susceptible to have more play.

strong magnets? i wish mine was like yours....it holds but as the test on here shows a few shakes and its coming loose on mine as well....i have a 20$ amazon case that i have to pull very hard to get magsafe accessories off...this ghost case however is very lacking....at least mine is :(

I feel like I paid 45 bucks worth of packaging and 5 bucks for the case. I just got mine for the 14 pro max and it came out of the box with weird permanent smudges. Very disappointed in dbrand. Very good review by the way.

Yeah, it’s pretty bad that there’s so many people getting flawed cases right out of the box. dBrand did comment that they’ll correct this issue though, just contact them with pictures and a brief description. They said they’re shipping out all the preorders first before handling the damaged cases though.
Glad I resisted the hype and didn't buy this case. I have a Finewoven and really hate it but haven't found a worthy replacement yet. Sucks.

I was thinking of getting in touch with their customer service, but from what I’ve been reading, they’re getting slammed with requests. I’ll eventually reach out to them to see if I can get a replacement. I don’t blame you for returning yours.
This one only brand. Not good don't buy guys. I have this case 15pro max.This also came scratched. This case is prone to scratches. This should be yellow, it is very ugly. Also, the phone heats up a lot during wireless charging
Mine started cracking on the sides, near the camera frame, from taking it out and in so much. I know everyone that got the first case is getting the replacement for free, but I don’t want to get my hopes up on all these flaws being corrected

Not very impressed myself. The magnets are weak
They’re pretty weak, it doesn’t grab onto my nightstand charger very well like my other cases do. On the bright side, they will be sending everyone a second case to correct the scratch issue with this one, not sure if the magnets will be updated or not though
Bought a aliexpress ripoff and couldn’t be any happier all that for a mere 5$ 😂 same exact design too

So.. watched your video with some others before I bought this case for my pixel 8 pro... I was apprehensive but I still thought it looked good. Now that I have it, I don't get your review at all. This thing is sweet! It's minimal but still has the bumper for grip and protection and it looks beautiful on my phone. Most mag cases make my phone feel like a brick, hence why your other case doesn't have a gap...thick back. I'll take this ghost case design all day over that thick thing. Did a Dbrand employee piss in your Cheerios or something? We'll see about the scratches but they already owned up to that and are sending me and everyone else a new case. How many companies do that? I'm a new fan.

Kinda wish you had more points to your claim. Seems like you saw two flaws and called it a failure.
I get what you’re saying. It just seems to me that having a weak magnet and being able to scuff so easily as a protective case when compared to a $15 case is pretty bad. I definitely should have gone deeper into it. Might have helped if I referenced all the people online complaining about the same issues. I actually do like the case though and really will be using it as my daily case.

I actually do like the case, it’s just that a $50 case shouldn’t have issues like this and that these issues alone, regardless of the features of the case, should be enough to deter potential customers. I do understand what you’re saying though, definitely should have talked more about the good parts/features of the case. I just assumed people watching this already know about this case as I wasn’t intending for it to be a review.

Ya, for $50 the gap, scratches out the box and flimsy bottom is enough to put it in the negative space. Besides, hate seeing all these glowing sponsored reviews of products that have some pretty big flaws that get glossed over
