It’s heavyweight - as long as you aren’t lower than the lower limit and aren’t heavier than the upper limit you can fight. So you can see a 220lbs guy fighting someone more like 250lbs without any trickery having happened

I was thinking the same. I think MMA is more popular because of the American and Brazilian influence, huge countries with wrestling and Ju Jitsu at the forefront of their fighting styles. Americans love wrestling for some reason.
