never heard of PFL but all these new competitions and tournaments means that Fighters can leave and get better paying fights outside of the UFC - this is a good thing
Pettis now has his own organization, Showtime Fighting Championship. I just watched their first even in person; really fun, and a good show. You can watch it on UFCs FightPass. I'm wondering how that contract reads.
@@zf5656 I am happy to see fighters taking on roles they enjoy - DC, Bisping etc. especially in the big tournaments. Usually not much after a fighter is done and they fade away with a lot of damage.
You’re a mma fan but never heard of pfl?
@@zf5656 why isn't he fighting in his own one?
@@steprsonlyent1593 Who said he's a MMA fan?
Anthony Pettis is pure heart, almost finished twice and he came back
Came back?
pettis is a punching bag.
@@Teddy-se8qb lol
This is 145 lb million dollar tournament
He s a joke now. No defence. No guts no nothing. Just doing a lot of dumb shit now really.
Anthony Pettis is a beast. Any fighter who defeats Pettis is a beastmaster who enjoys war.
great fight! anthony seemed done at one point but then in the 3rd: showtime! clay got a chin and can bang, that slapkick to the face i think did much more than what it seemed, 5 rounds would have been very interesting!
Hi friend come my side see srilankan 🇱🇰 best boxing
Even in defeat, glad to see pettis looking like he is in pretty good shape and great cardio. Finished strong, the mans a dog
nah the man is.... A man... Could be wrong
@@tipoftheiceberg7034 only about 75 percent man.. rest is all 🐶
Man, this clay dude style have a really bar brawler feeling. But he deserves the win, defeating Pettis is no small feat and he did it
Yeah he reminds me of old school gaethje
Finally! PFL is uploading full fights!
One of the best fights I’ve ever seen. Entertaining every second!!!!
It was nice to see Anthony Pettis fight again
Great Fight !!!
Hi my friend come my side see srilankan 🇱🇰 best boxing
Love PFL format and it’s stats.
Thank you PFL
Did I see Sean O'Connell as a commentator? That's badass if it's the same O'Connell that was in the UFC.
It is. He was LHW champ in PFL
Hi friend come my side see srilankan 🇱🇰 best boxing
Thought Clay had too much momentum for Anthony to have pulled off that impactful kick followed by a knee in the third round, but that leg kick by Clay at the very end of the fight was perhaps the most fluent sweep I've ever seen in MMA.
Great performance from both fighters
Clay Collard! Sharply focused, good game plan, full scope striking anchored by those pressuring boxing hands and body punches. Anthony Pettis? Expected more, with a surprise absence of aggressive takedowns. The Pettis in the 3rd round is the Pettis I expected in the 1st round...but Collard recovered and started handling Pettis in the 3rd round, too. Collard is real. Pettis can still retool and rebound, but it'll take alot of work...and his window of opportunity is closing fast. It's time to show, Showtime. Good luck to both athletes.
I remember when clay was doing pro boxing snd pulling some back to back upsets against some of those padded up prospects. Props to him for sticking around and making big moves
Those kicks when Showtime was down were damaging! You find see that a lot! As soon as the first landed Showtime knew he made a mistake👊🏼🇨🇦
Good fight respect to both fighters takes real man to get in the ring/ cage
That's like saying it takes a real man to be a cop.
Clay was really hurt after that head kick and then flying knee. Don't know how he survived but damn Pettis is always trigger shy in these types of fights. He does so well when he's letting his hands go.
Why did Pettis follow him into the guard, he needed a knock out and a submission was unlikely at this stage.
Great fight and great to hear Randy Couture ringside.
Now you see why ufc let him go ! He dont have it no more but good job by clay !
They didn't let him go tho. They offered him a contract actually. He went for the 💰
Anthony needs to stop fighting and do something else with his life. His skills have diminished, and the money is not worth his life or his quality of future life.
@@ca-lt1fc who the heck are you to make decisions for him lol
@@kyles5997 😂😂😂
Or maybe Clay was also impressive?
Way to go IDAHO!!! I live about 20 miles away from Clay I've never met him but there are some bad boys around here
Never heard if him til now but WOW what a damn fighter Clay Collard
I’ve watched many of Clay’s fights he bangs every time and hits like a truck surprised Pettis took that many shots
This was a great fight, wow 😲!
Man collards got a chin on him, man really ate a high kick and a huge knee and still fought.
WOW Anthony was one of the best it’s amazing how he’s fallen. Hopefully he saved what little money they make in the UFC
Ikr
He made 3 mil from his ufc career alone
Making none he has own promotion and owns serious property in Milwaukee
@@user-lx6fj3kf3j Most of that went to his coaches and the bills
Pretty sure you make more outside the ufc if you have a name anyway. Ufc pay isn't that good honestly, unless you're part of the small upper echelon.
It's not the Pettis I saw against Anderson or others. But he still gots his heart.
Clay is a beast hands down this man can fight put some respect on his name give this man a bonus
Anthony Pettis Was The First Fighter I've Seen fought When I started watching UFC
Great fight.
I love the real-time stats
Clay Collard was also boxing professional too! For people who didn't know.
Damn it's always frustrating seeing them create a window of opportunity to win but miss it/just too fatigued to make something significant of it.
Someone please tell me how do they determine speed strikes?? 🤦♀️
2 minutes into the fight and Anthony's lack of ability/decision to threaten to take Collard down limits his abilities so much. This is MMA, not Glory Kickboxing. Story of Anthony's career. Not sure how the fight plays out, but I'm going to guess Collard gets the decision win.
Couldn't watch the whole thing before leaving a lame comment huh?
Pettis would do well in Glory
Pettit was champion in his prime and beat the best lol
You must be a good fighter to notice these things im amazed
I think his greatest weakness is not knowing what to do when a person bum rushes him. It’s like he waiting for the perfect counter and literally blocking or moving out of the way too much to be able to counter. Just rinse and repeat if you are his opponent.
Great fight
Good fight. ✌️👊
I was rooting for Pettis but it seems he’s lost that fire, good job Collard!
It's the curse of the readies box breakfast cereal cover
@@davidoconnor393 how if he defeated Gilbert Melendez he was sponsored still clay guida found out a game plan and everyone stole it from him and that's what sunk him
@@killakerve956 only in music can you still from competition at least in the court of law and I believe in science and business with copyrights and patents... Why isn't it had anyone have the brains to steal bazooka limones bolo punch which got in the world championship belt,, I know of two other fighters that patented moves got them championships but yet no one wants to recreate that move or perfected or even advance it cuz I'm drinking right now but thank you brother
No, it's just that clay was impressive. Anthony Pettis came to pfl right after he knocked out wonderboy
There are many elite fighters outside the ufc
Amazing fight ! Pettis good fighters 👍
It's like watching a fight on the back oval after school 🤣
If you pressure Pettis he just retreats and runs because his athleticism and speed has diminished. Anthony Is done.
That cartwheel kick attempt messed Pettis’ game plan up. If he wasn’t so obsessed with the showtime persona, he would’ve done much better imo
Pettis may be 24-10. But all his losses are against killers. Poirer, Ferguson, RDA, Holloway, Diaz, etc. But he has a win over Charles Oliviera the current champ. And the Wonderboy win was luck imo.
Collard is a killer?
@@RollinRocker Collard is good. But Pettis is well past his prime and fought the best in the UFC/WEC for 15 years.
@@too_sturdy Not really. He's still fairly young.
@@RollinRocker yeah but he has long mileage.. those wars he fought against all top tier fighters took its toll.
@@RollinRocker he's 35 bro. That's not young in mma years. Plus the mileage like my man said.
I love how how the ref was posing them guns!!😂
Fall from the top is a long one. I’ve always pushed boxing in mma and this clinic here is a good example why. Boxers suck at mma if they transition over but mma fighters that utilize boxing as an art form always do considerably well. Nick Diaz and Nate Diaz know this and they utilize the boxing in standup to its fullest potential with Jiujitsu as a foundation. Hats off to Collard. He’s an excellent striker boxer but can throw serious kicks as well. He gets is g&p and jujitsu on lockdown and he will be world class. Pettis is no joke either. He got that timed uppercut in on Michael Page which sent him back to the drawing board. After thirty or more years and a few years in the game myself , I appreciate mma more and more as an art form and Boxing is the oil on canvas.
Hi my friend come my side see srilankan 🇱🇰 best boxing
Anthony Pettis Showtime Pettis this was his debut fightI first saw him fight it was on UFC you’re a good fighter Anthony
Clay is a bad boy, Got to love Anthony's heart...respect to both men... 🙏👊💯
Clay looked so focused, I really thought in rd 2 he was going to finish him. Seemed like he held back from kneeing Pettis after he got knocked down.
Can someone please tell me how do they know the speed of the punches? Does it have something to do with the gloves?
likely
You can measure the speed of something on camera by using the framerate over a known distance. It's still pretty weird, though, 10 mph seems really slow, when pitchers throw 100 mph fastballs.
Great body and leg work by Collard, that just opened up Pettis and kept him guessing the whole time.
They should've stopped the fight in the 2nd to protect Pettis. He was taking way to many big shots from a boxer at that. That's the type of damage that catches up w u eventually. Respect to Pettis for showing alot of ❤ tho. Good fight!
Showtime ❣️✊
Impressive fight
Thought Clay was mentioned as the underdog between the two, but he successully had in tent to be the aggressor quite impressively for some time, then Anthony's two lower body strikes thrown in the third round, you could see and hear the impact right in front of you. It's a wonder if Clay had even two successful "sweep kicks" for lack of a better term, in the first and third rounds as best recalled.
Last round was sick!
That's some amazing restraint from Clay Collard to cancel that knee at 9:50! Pettis was just starting to go down so it was almost legal, but Collard may have spotted his hand touch the canvas and then pulled back as a result. The fight likely would have been over in ONE
Burley Idaho, representing. Nice. I'm from twin falls, born and raised, not far away at all. 40 miles or so. Used to work in Burley, that's a small town. Imagine clay with a real gym with elite striking, wrestling and jiu jitsu coaches. Also Pettis said in an interview this week that he doesn't like the cage mat in pfl, it's slippery he says.... Much more than UFC and other places he fought.
That collard "greens" kid is pretty good, tough young man !
I’ve always liked Anthony Pettis, but he needs to retire before he gets hurt. He looks timid, unsure of himself, and repeatedly backs up into the cage with his hands down. Reminds me a lot of how Tyron Woodley looked his last few fights- just unable to pull the trigger anymore.
First off this is mma not boxing if u fight with your hands up you're trash , literally Anthony has always fought like this , it's called rolling with the shot , if the fight was ,5 rounds clay was done he was completely gassed n Anthony was perfectly fine,. The problem was clay is 20lbs heavier than Anthony is so every shot that he catches them with doesn't do any damage and when clay hits him at the office there's nothing impressive about being away clay Howard is trash he literally just cuts and absurd amount of weight to fight people he's massively bigger than I shouldn't expect you to know that because your comment was maybe the most embarrassingly casual one I've ever seen satisfies nothing like Woodley at his backs up to the cage so he can spring off of it both in a metaphorical sense in an actual physical sense Woodley would back up to the cage and not throw anything Pettis was clipping counters like throwing check hugs every single time he was up against the cage and he was letting clay blow his wad because most of the shots weren't doing any damage to him and it was working at the end of that second round clay was completely gassed and eating front kicks over and over
@@vinceventura4453 You don't know shit. A lot of fighters keep their hands up lol.
@@vinceventura4453 lmao yeah Pettis was gonna own him in rounds 4 and 5 uk in a "metaphorical sense"🤡👈

Once Anthony Pettis gets hit really hard… He completely gives up. He doesn’t dig down deep. He just gives up
Former WEC lightweight Champion & Former UFC Lightweight Champion First MMA fighter to appear on the cover of Wheaties. They need to put some respect on his name during the fighter introduction yes it was years ago .ijs Big signing for your organization hype it up
Петтис ты просто отличный боец , твой бой с Тони Фергусоном это уже классика
Love to watch Showtime
what a fight
Sure doesn’t look like the Showtime I remember!!!
The 1 2 headkick to flying knee was so sick by pettis at the end, wish he got the finish
Gotta love the ref!
The self control on that knee!
Pettis still tuff as nails!!! What a war!
Showtime looks scared to throw it down. I’ve been a big fan of him when he used to fight for the UFC. Now. He needs to retire. I don’t like to see him get his ass beat.
Shortly before this fight he knocked out wonderboy
Props to the announcer 👌🏽
Anthony. Listen to your corner man. Literally the story of his career. Terrible decision making, he’s uncoachable, and he always ALWAYS gets backed up to the cage. So frustrating to watch because he is so talented.
It’s no surprise now that all fighters know to beat pettis is forward pressure. He has significantly slowed down been in too many wars and has that problematic hand that breaks a lot
Color saturation is to high. Hurts the eyes.
Yea me either never heard of it
Cassius Clay Collard was surprisingly a great watch. Great body work.
Miss Showtime Kick In UFC 🤔👀
Where is the LOUD CROWD???
Pettishly is the (Arturo "THUNDER" Gatti) of the M.M.A world!!! RIP ARTURO GATTI
Clay Guida was the first to show everybody pressure is the key to beating pettis.
Gday luv End of round one Anthony 's cardio weak Not the Anthony I know going backwards sideways Wanted to see the Anthony that showed. Up with Diaz Why not take him down??? What happened to the cereal guy..
great fight 👏🏽
I see Anthony doing his work he wanted the fight go this way he got him tired he risked it and it was right time
Pettis back on the juice he looking good
Anthony did not look as fit as he has before. Slow to start, I hope he didn't disrespect Collard by coming in unfit. Whatever it was, Collard had more than enough to work his plan. Anthony has a long way to go if he wants to get it all back. Good Win for Clay.
Referee looks like Brock Lesnar in 40 years
Pettis looks like he's in super good shape for his pfl fights lol 😆
Be real yall, Pettit doesn’t have it anymore. The fact that he’s STILL losing fights in PFL is sad. The UFC didn’t lose much.
Nope, it means there are many elite fighters outside the ufc. Ufc doesn't have all the best. Cope. Clay Colard beat Shane burgos who was 8-3 in the ufc and ranked. There are plenty elite fighters including fighters that have beaten former and current ufc champs and ranked ufc fighters in PFL/Bellator.
Thiago Santos was ranked in the ufc and came close to beating jon jones but has a losing PFL record, Shane burgos ranked in the ufc and left on a win streak has a losing record in the PFL, Mohammed Usman IS 3-1 in the ufc but got finishedby Brandon Sayles in the PFL, Wonderboy is a top ranked ufc fighter but got knocked out by PFL/Bellator Anthony Pettis right before he left ufc to get destroyed by PFL/Bellator Clay Colard and Stevie Ray, Philipe Lins is on a 4 fight ufc win streak and got knocked out by Bellator/PFL Vadim Nemkov. Chris Curtis lost multipletimesin PFLand got knockedout, but came to ufc and has a winningrecord and is ranked in the ufc, Petr yan has a lost to Bellato/PFL MagomedMagomedov, Manon fiorot is undefeated in the ufc and only has a career loss to Bellator/PFL Leah McCourt, Brandon Moreno lost to Bellato/PFL SergioPettis who was ranked number 2 when he was in the ufc, Glover texaira and Top ranked johnny walker got destroyed by Bellator/PFL Corey Anderson. Glover texaira former ufc champ got destroyed by PFL/Bellator Phil Davis. Paddie Pimblet is in the ufc 😆 🤣 😂, but he already lost to PFL/Bellator Soren bak, Eddie Alvarez came from Bellator and won the ufc title, Justin Gaetche came from WSOF(PFL) and won the ufc interim title, Kyoji Horraguchi was 7-1 in the ufc and only lost to Demetrius Johnson, A bunch of fighters came from Pride, Strikeforce, and WEC to ufc and were very successful including championships, a large percentage of ufc champions including Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards came from other organizations, MMA landscape is growing so much and there is a world of elite mma fighters that choose to go to other organizations instead of the ufc. Ufc is number 1 because of size, media, and money it makes, outside the ufc top 15 ufc fighters are average, MVP just punished number 13 ranked ufc fighter, Chandler is top 8 in the ufc and got starched by Bellator/PFL Patricio Pitbull, PFL/Bellator elite fighters are top level to.Jeremy Kennedy was 3-1 in the ufc and only lost to volkanowski. Brett johns was ranked top 10 in the ufc and was 5-2 in the ufc. Gegard Mousasi left ufc on a 5 fight win streak with wins over former ufc champs Luke Rockhold and Chris Wiedman. Benson Henderson was champ in the ufc, had a winning ufc record but lost most of his fights in Bellator, he and most of the fighters that left the ufc were still in their prime. Bellator/PFL has a long list of Elite fighters.
Woao i came a fan of collard in boxing
