I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Scott’s dad Roland Martin several times when I was a young boy. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Scott is a very selfless person and it shows in this video. You can tell this wasn’t staged at all. Landon’s father made sure that he let Scott know just how much he cared about Scott. This was a God thing!

Out of all of the videos I've watched, all of tihe tournaments, the highs and lows, this was by far the best out of all of them. I'm not ashamed to admit it. Seeing that little man catch his PB with you brought tears to this 58 year old truck drivers eyes. Well done, Scott!
Man Scott that was freaking awesome!! I’m 42 and can still remember being this kid, hoping to be invited on a bass boat to go fishing. Not only did he get to fish with a pro and catch his PB, he also had it caught on film. Truly a God sent gesture on your part. Great stuff Sir!

This is why Scott Martin is my favorite angler. Most people as famous as him would maybe just give the kid a high five and an autograph but Scott goes above and beyond for his fans. Spent the whole day with people he barely knew and just took em fishing on his professional fishing boat. What a class act. This was probably my fav video of them all. So happy for that kid you can't fake that reaction when he caught that 5 lber. So much genuine joy with his role model.

Scott, man, I have to say this was amazing. When I was little I got to ride in the boat with The General as they pulled him out and into the stadium for the Redman championship in Tampa many years ago and I will never forget it. This was the best thing I've seen you do yet. That meant the world to that kid and he will forever cherish that short trip out with you. I don't even know what else to say man, it really was amazing, thank you for doing that and letting us be a part of it through your KZhead channel. Wish more pros did things like this more often. Quite possibly the best fishing video on KZhead. I love the look on people’s face when you’re fishing solo in boat and they’re beating bank and I invite them to join. I could only imagine that experience when it’s a pro. Good job Mr. Martin at bringing another into this brotherhood and a lifetime memory for him.

Mr. Martin, I know I am late with the comment but watching people do things like this for folks they don't even know simply because they can is what makes me want to continue when life is beating down hard and it seems like everyone is out for themselves. This act of sharing your time and presence will mean more to this kid and his father than anything else that happens on their vacation. You did that and it didn't cost you or them a dime. A cynic will point out the cost of the some random bs about the cost of the vacation or the costs of your time, etc.....and to them I say, "You keep on keeping score on things that don't matter...the rest of us are smiling ear to ear with joy and humility as we watch this video and knowing that change is hard but oh so worth it."
