  • Man I'm gonna just like and subscribe because it appears you're the one tech channel that either reaches back out to people commenting and even helps them with issues and looks over a list of what they could use! You're a real one man! Keep on keeping on! Even if you're personally not responding it appears you have someone to do that so still good on you!

    • Thank you so much, man! I like to think that most people running small channels like mine enjoy interacting with and helping their audience like I do, but when channels grow past a certain point it becomes almost impossible or impractical to engage as much which sucks. Oh, and it's all me - don't think I'd ever ask someone to help me respond to comments. They'd quit after a week 😂

  • I took the plunge and purchased the 32GB single DIMM. I may need to overclock it and get a second channel DIMM, possibly on asynchronous mode. BUT - It only cost me £40 - so about 75% savings. I think at the right price and for the right capacity, there should be no reason not to get this DIMM. It depends upon use case, but I don't feel I'll lose very much gaming, and it will let me RAM cache my other drives. With DirectStorage APIs, I am not sure it will even matter that much. I can now afford the new 13th gen i7 from the money I have saved on RAM, so I am well chuffed. And I can upgrade over time to 128GB RAM; I like the futureproofing of the 32GB DIMM module. I think CAS latency only really matters when you are at 1080p and with a very high end GPU like the NVIDEA 4080, but with that GPU you might as well aim for 1440p or even 4k. In reality, most of the new 13th gen chips will not care that they have to put out slightly more clock cycles. They are such impressive CPU chips with such high frequencies and cores, and moreover, the B660, Z690, B760 and Z790 have continually improving memory controllers anyway, it just seems like comparing the tread patterns on car tyres. Whatever DIMM RAM you choose, it is now being completely mitigated by the CPU, DirectStorage APIs, and having a premium motherboard. That is why I have the Aorus Master and a 13600K - with a set up like that, CAS latency and loose timing are hardly relevant. What matters far more is capacity, GPU, fast storage and peripherals. So Yes, I enjoyed this video. But in reality worrying about this particular RAM DIMM is about as useful as rearranging deckchairs on the Titanic. It was relevant a few years ago, but not so much now.

  • are they dual rank tho? im trying to figure out if the 3600mhz cl20 are single or dual rank stick

    @FyFox@FyFox Жыл бұрын
    • I'm pretty sure it's dual-rank, and I've confirmed with two other reviews that their 3600MHz CL20 kits are dual-rank.

  • Can Asus prime 610 m-e d 4 motherboard with i3 12100f run it (non RGB variant) at xmp profile? I mean at 3200 MHz at least by using xmp. Will cas latency increase drastically if I do that? I heard h-610 mobo cannot overclock ram. But can it at least use xmp to raise ram frequency of this ram to 3200

    @indiankid8601@indiankid8601 Жыл бұрын
    • Non RGB variant is 2600mhz that can be xmp to 3200mhz

      @indiankid8601@indiankid8601 Жыл бұрын
    • The 12100 officially supports memory up to 3200, and as far as I know H610 boards do support XMP, so I'd be very shocked if you couldn't enable XMP to run that kit at 3200.

  • I have a 3600 and 1660ti. Will I benefit from resizeable bar?

    @NetNeelsie@NetNeelsie Жыл бұрын
    • From what I've seen Rebar is primarily beneficial for the high-end GPUs, and only slightly improves performance in the mid to low-range if at all, and it's pretty dependent on the game. It's definitely worth giving a try though to see if you get a couple more FPS in the games you play.

    • @@NetNeelsie The exact method is going to depend on your motherboard, but it could be similar on most boards. On mine you go to settings > Advanced > PCI Subsystem Settings > Then you should see an option for Re-Size BAR support, so just enable that and you should be good to go.

BTW I went pc part picker and did this build list but here’s what it said and I’m not sure what it means. “A Note: Fan compatibility checking is currently not supported. B Note: The Thermaltake Core P8 TG ATX Full Tower Case supports video cards up to 320mm long, but video cards over 280mm may block drive bays. Since the Asus ROG STRIX GAMING OC GeForce RTX 3060 12 GB Video Card is 300mm long, some drive bays may not be usable. The Thermaltake Core P8 TG ATX Full Tower Case hard drive bays are positioned where some of the bays may be physically blocked when using longer video cards. C Note: When the motherboard is not paired with a Rocket Lake-based CPU, M.2 slot M2_1 (M) is disabled. D Disclaimer: Some physical dimension constraints are currently not checked, such as CPU coolers and RAM clearance”

    • Hey man. That 10900K is on the official supported list for that specific motherboard, so it'll work just fine. What Note "C" means is that with your CPU the topmost M.2 slot will be disabled as that's running at a higher speed than the 10900K supports, but the other slots should still work just fine. You won't be able to run the SSD you chose at its top speed because of this. I checked the case you chose, and I don't think you need to worry about your GPU fitting. It looks like there aren't any drive cages in the way by default, so they probably have them as extras in the box that you can choose to use or not. Your build is going to look great and as far as I can tell everything's going to be compatible. And even though I think you already know this, I have to still say that you're spending a lot of money here on aesthetics, money most people would rather spend on a better GPU/CPU.

    • @@TheTechTank first of all thank you so so much for the quick reply and the solution And yes I am 100% aware of how much I’m spending on looks it’s because I will be getting the new Rtx 4080 but couple months down the road and definitely a upgrade cpu as well. And as for the m.2 I guess I’ll just buy 2 980 pro 2tb each for the other slots since this mobo has 4 of em Again thank you so much man I really appreciate it. 🙏🏽👍🏾🤘🏽
