Cast members and extra's from the ITV series London's Burning re-opened the new Dockhead Fire Station which is on the site of the original fire station used in the drama.
The best Sunday night program of all time.

A shame bayleaf couldnt be there would of been great to see what would look like now days, R.I.P James Hazeldine.
I've only just discovered this show nearly 20 years after it was axed. It's incredible to see how much older the cast are now. They did a great job making that show. I hope someone resurrects London's Burning - would be interesting to see how they portray firefighting in 2020. There could even be opportunities to bring in members of the original cast as parents of the new generation fire fighters.
I was lucky enough to to attend dock head fire station when they were filming for the second pilot movie. Made very welcome by all who were there on the day.
They alll look so old now :o Some of them still look the same like Sicknote and his Mrs. I've been rewatching it on DVD as I used to watch it when I was a kid but was too young too see most of it. Its good to see them together again!
So the interview is with Katherine, who played Josie, but the clip shows Kate, who was played by Samantha Beckinsale a different character. Great job ITV

My favourite characters of London’s Burning will always be Sicknote and Recall.
It wasn't set in a disused fire station. Dockhead was in use throughout the filming of London's Burning.
I loved watching london's burning....i fancied george lol....it made great tv i'm sure it was on a sunday evening. : )

Contrary to the news reporter's opening comments, it was not a disused fire station. It was operational until a new station was built on the same site. Need to get your facts right. Furthermore, Dockhead is in Bermondsey not Blackwall which is about 5 miles away in East London.

Djstevester5 : I agree or at least a new firefighting drama. But I believe the trouble is that a firefighting series is expensive to make. Without it feeling like a 'soap opera ' viewers would expect a fire or rescue every week. Where as the likes of a hospital or police series where they could get away with having an episode or two based in a courtroom or someone having a heart attack which would cost next to nothing compared to having a car crash or burning building. Unless a production company or broadcaster can guarantee high ratings I don't think they will commit to a firefighting series. Sky recently did a series - The Smoke, and did fairly well in the ratings, but just not enough for them to commit a second series. With so many channels and ways to view the programming on offer these days, long gone the days where London's Burning we're peaking 19+ million viewers a week.
Too be honest I hated the smoke, It was awfully written show, The LFB had nothing to do with it and didn't give any technical advise, The firefighters were portrayed badly, One was seen if I remember trying to get out of work by faking an injury, And don't get me on the lead characters story-line, Flashing his injuries at his commander at a public event in the first episode but yet continued to do his job like that never happened? I know it's a drama but there's a limit to believably here. And Jamie Bamber does a better American accent then a cockney one and his from Hammersmith!!!

I loved the series when I was younger and when I bought the series 1-7 and series 8-14, I realised I loved the series 1-10, but series 11-13 I couldn't really stand cause if that Heather Peace or whatever her name is and series 14 I didn't know what was really going on.
I never took to London’s Burning, so never watched it, never heard of Dockhead Fire Station, only watched this clip to see Katherine Rogers who was in The Bill episode A question of confidence.

Could that possibly be Paul Knight the producer? I looked up the opening of the fire station and the article mentioned he was there.

States it was the ‘disused’ station in dockhead. The station was fully operational throughout I’m sure
It was shut for a few months. I went past there one night and took a photo shortly before demolition
@@darthinsanious1435 He means while the show was being made. The fire station in the 80s and 90s was operational until they knocked it down in 2013 I think.
"Disused Station" not true, even in the show you can actually see Dockheads appliance either in the yard or on the bay
Yep it was a operation fire station during filming, all they did was move the appliances outside if they got a call while they filmed in the yard or bay area

My wife lived across from the fire station as a kid and they all used to go after school trying to get to see the young lad they thought was dishy. Don’t know his name.
So the bays were too small for the fire engines and there was no room for fire fighter training, but "most importantly" they couldn't bring the public in! What?! It that guy for real? He's got his priorities well and truly twisted.
SPF SPF Firefighting has become more community orientated over the years. They like to bring the public in now and promote the good work they do. Stop living in the dark ages. The appliance bays were also built on an age where appliances were smaller and less developed.
Unlike this new station, the old one had room fot three appliances.
@Ryan I could be wrong, but I think compared to older appliances, the modern ones are larger and wider.

He is the shy guy that liked watching the fire engines and was interested in the brigade and billy used to let him come into the station but poison kept kicking him out and shouting at him

They should resurrect London Burning - a 2020s version would be great. It would also help to promote the vocation of fire fighting to Gen Z and beyond.

They knocked down Dockhead because it was too tight for the new appliances, if u look at woodside fire station its even smaller and they have to fold the wing mirrors in when leaving the bays. Dockhead station was perfectly fine the way it was, also they don't need space for the public since they probably won't be allowed in the station anyway due to the stupid health and safety laws they have nowadays.

The amount of mistakes and inaccurate reporting made by the Presenter of London Tonight and the Reporter Ronke Phillips is unbelievable. Considering it was a London Weekend Television programme, it is incredible that this clip even made it to ‘air’. Nevertheless it was brilliant to see most of the cast as they are today. Thanks for posting the clip.

They recorded an episode at the defunct RAF SWINDERBY airfield in Lincolnshire because they were using exploding gas cylinders flying into the air above the Airfield and London was a big no no due to intense airel activity from Heathrow, Gatwick,Luton etc which was the clever option, " BUT" .. LINCOLNSHIRE IS NOT CALLED " BOMBER COUNTY" For nothing, on a daily basis British, US, AND NATO AIRCRAFT FULLY LOADED with Nuclear Weapons and other weapons of mass destructions onboard were considered less of a threat of being hit by a rogue gas cylinder 😂😂 laugh i 💩 my BOXER SHORTS 😂
