This week I'm power carving patterned plywood for the second time. I glued up two blanks with two different patterns and made two different styles of bowls.

Plywood people!!! And the bottom is as much a work of art as the top side! Wow!
For cutting bowl blanks on a bandsaw, I use a simpe jig made from a board and a nail through it
Insanely beautiful!!! I actually went to u-tube to see how to make fishing rod stand 😂. Few clicks away and I'm here. I feel such an itch at my bottom place to try do something similar. Thank you for inspiration!
In the old days in Transylvania region Romania these bowls with handles on the side were used to deposit bread dough till dough grows so they can make bread in big brick ovens :) Greetings from a Transylvanian vampire, i really enjoy you're work.
I love the look of plywood edging and love what you do with it. Great video.
These bowls took a lot of time and patience, but it worth of it. The pattern, shape and color are beautiful and artistic, great.
I am yet to see anything that you've made that i don't like and that isn't perfect. You truly are talented
Very nice. Bonus points for carving the feet out.
Man I love these projects Michael! It so directly embraces the aesthetic of plywood to the point that it almost becomes a whole new material (like the stuff Woby is doing) Beautiful projects!
Another FAB video, love seeing other people power carve
They are prety japanese-looking, especially that with four legs. A piece of beauty!
7:05 this was the most elegant state of the design. you should've left it at that stage, looks super nice
They remind me of kneading bowls or dough bowls. Very elegant!
Looks like a future cribbage board 👍 Great video, thanks for sharing...
I love these! They’re like chevron skateboards for tiny people. Your hexagon pattern would definitely make a beautiful deck
Never thought much about power carving but this looks like a person could be quite creative. The bowls turned out great!
The patterned plywood... It's elegant, and I'm blown away by how cool the power carving looks with it!
Awesome video. Congrats on reaching 100K! We deserved. : ) Bowls are beautiful. Thanks Arbortech for supporting makers. Mahalo for sharing! : )
I always love the patterned plywood projects! Really great tip about using a straight piece of wood as a guide - makes total sense but never would have thought of it!
Thanks dude!
Wow, these bowls are just beautiful and so cool to watch them come together. You are quite an amazing craftsman.
AWESOME!! I've turned a few plywood bowls on my lathe but this is higher level stuff and I love it. Thanks for this.
Looks like wood damascus 👍
I’ve done some power carving but not on plywood. Until I watched this video. Nicely done sir. I will be copying your work here in the near future. Thanks again so much
Thanks for sharing Michael! Initially I thought I would like the design with the c-shaped feet, but was happily surprised how it came out. I still like the organic shape of the one with the 4 feet the most, but the patterns in both are great!
Now those are cool. They look great.
Fantastic project. Love it so much Michael.
Beautifully done Michael 👌👌. Thank you
A longer version of those would make a pretty cool looking bath caddies.
Love how you explain as you go. Very helpful
Amazing work! I love how you went the extra mile and carved feet out of the bottom. I probably would have just drilled some holes with a forstner bit, stuck in some dowels and called it done. Your way made it look so much nicer.
Those are beautiful Michael! Really nice work.
Both of them came out great. I really like that c shaped feet design.
Love your plywood projects. I thought I am creative but everything I wanted to do is already on your channel!
3D modeling + CNC and you make piece of art out of these patterns
such a different channel, I love it each time, thank you
As a wood Turner I would call this a platter 😋 I live the patterned plywood videos you do, lots of varieties, and I still haven't made a large sled for my table saw lol. Keep the awesome content coming. I love watching!
Incredible. I forgot to come watch this when you put it out, just finished listening to you on Because We Make, thought I better come check this out. Great work as usual sir!
Amazing wood
Reminds me of a dough trough. Just a bit shallow. 👍🏻
Love what you do with plywood big fan of plywood just never thought to do something like that beautifully done
Wow these came out really well, very elegant and the pattern is wonderful
Incredible job. So nice and well finished your bowls. Thanks for sharing
I really like all the patterned plywood projects! Another awesome and inspiring video. My question is: in the vein of plywood and patterns would you ever consider creating your own plywood with dyed or even exotic veneers?!
Seriously WOW !
Your work is just stunning!! Thoroughly enjoyed this one!!
Cool idea! I've never looked at plywood from this side. Well done! Keep doing cool things!
Really cool stuff, Michael! I don't know which one is my favorite...they're both cool!
This is such a beautiful work. Also the design is super cool I loved your channel and everything you are creating. Congratulations
Power carving looks like it is fun. Unfortunately I live in an apartment but I am going to look for a workshop space I can use once the current situation eases. Thanks and stay safe!
Power Carving with these discs can be VERY Dangerous, just so you know & try it one day. If you're not paying attention & it bites the other way, it can mean your hand is permanently messed up. Go search it if interested.
setag54321 I have great respect for tools, especially power ones. I am going to seek out a class before investing. Thanks!
@@LindaSmith-vq1br Good deal Linda..Peace
Your tools are amazing
Nice work, I want to try the patterned ply as soon as I can buy some after the lock down. I was looking for something to do this week and found an old weathered chunk of pine, I cut 80cm of and made a trencher to put baguettes in when I am barbecuing, the 1st time I had ever thought of making something like that. Then I click on this video and you are making trenchers. Mine is deeper though and I used a Forstner followed by what is basically a circular saw blade for angle grinders, textured the surface by following the grain with different gouges and a bees wax finish. Arbor Tech is hard to find in Spain and expensive. I like the rolling bench, that is a great idea.
That looks so 3D, my eyes were wobbling
Another awesome production video. Thanks again!
Some how the 300D TD wagon just fit into my expectations, nice work sir!!!!
hey man, new to the channel and definitely dig your use of plywood. Nice job!
Thank you Michel ,nice work Mate, cheers.
Love the bananas, nice touch! Beautiful!
Beautiful work as always. Love the edits and music that you do in these videos. Hoping mine will look nearly this good.
Well done!!!
Four legged version = skate board deck vibe.
Awesome work Michael, such a cool piece! 😃👌🏻👍🏻👊🏻
Good teacher 😀
Once again, I really like your work! Those plywood patterns are so nice, and the finish after carving is so great! It’s not quite the same scale, but I’d love to see a bow tie version of those (I might make some, once buying materials will be possible again…)! Stay safe and thanks for the video!
Beautiful Michael, I like them a lot!
Thanks Jolien!
Thanks for sharing that
Both turned out awesome...can't decide which feet I like better!
Looks awesome! Thank you for sharing!

🎉 these are ace👏👏👏
stunning! you are amazing!
Thanks for sharing your work 🍻
Beautiful and interesting work, as always dear, Congratulations¡¡¡.................👌
I love watching the process of how you make each of your products. It definitely looks, and probably did, take a long time to make each one. There are times when I'm making products that I think will take a few hours, but they end up taking an entire day or a few days to make from beginning to end. How long did this project take you to make and did you think it would be a faster or longer project?
Show! Um dia chegarei a este nível! Parabéns belo trabalho.
So good!
Thanks dude!
Beau travail j aimes bien le travail que vous faite avec ce bois là je pense faire un plateau de service dans ce genre mais coupe droite au tour .merci et bravo
Amazing work brother ,
Beautiful Pieces, thanks for sharing. Full View and Like
Oooo... Man! Beautiful! I love the one with circular feet most. It got me thinking. What if you made a bench size version of that bowl but instead of holding fruit, it could be carved for butts? Great job. Love it all.
lol and the wooden banana xDD
