Ha Kid Poker, 2 yrs later and your video is still valuable and awesome 👏 thanks for making them!
This is one of the best explanations of playing PLO I've heard. I've only started to get a little less crappy at Omaha lol. I like how he's explains different hand strength betting. How important position is and pretty much everything you need to know as a new player to get started in some free roll games at least.
With the picture of Bob Marley in the background finally it all make sense: "Pot" limit poker
😂
🤦🏼♀️🤣
Daniel, you’re a legend. Best thing poker has right now. Living legend as accessible and helpful as you. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Daniel. Great info and insight on the great game of PLO
Thankyou daniel been playing no limit texas all my life .for the first time ever played omaha i listened to this video alongside playing and i played free , bet when i was supposed to and won big .
Thanks to your video, I have finished 5 over 139 players on a ""freeroll"" qualifier, and it was the first time I played PLO of my life!!
This is a great video Daniel. It's improved my game and I've shared it with my poker friends. THanks.
Thanks Daniel, I had four losing weeks in a row playing plo, after watching this video I finally had a winning session!
Just stumbled on these vids. You’ve been one of my favorite players for years. Your ability to read peoples hands is uncanny. Thank you.
The worst thing about PLO is when you're playing it regularly you won't be able to play Holdem. Cause simply you don't have the patience to wait for good hands, It is also very different in terms of odds so it's better to stick with PLO
That's my problem right now. Although I do apreciate holdem tourneys more than omaha. I may not know the game that well. But it seems like omaha is better in a cash game setting..
Good holder players can easily adjust their ranges even if the absolute strength of their hands is much less polarized.
Absolutely, that's why I switched to PLO. That and because I got sick of players just shoving with anything and getting lucky in holdem, probably wasn't happening as much as it felt like but in holdem it's sick when your strong starting hands keep getting cracked.
@@jimmynich4791 Been playing PLO exclusively for 3 months. Tried hold em last week and I felt completely clueless, especially when trying to read opponents.
@@mikeabrahams679 I dont understand why PLO isn't more popular, starting hands are not so important and there's more action. I think starting out playing hold em it's best to stick to pot limit to begin with.
loving this series.. much appreciated. keep up the good work!
My favorite thing about PLO are the instances when folding the nuts is actually the right play. You get to check the BB with AJ67 no suits; flop is 589 with two spades. You check, first player bets pot, second player re-pots, and another player calls. Just fold the nuts. If you're up against a set and a flush draw you're an equity dog, and there's such a huge chance you're already drawing only to a chop you just get out. I made basically that fold once at a home game, showing one of my buddies as I folded it. Dude thought I was crazy until the turn when it got all-in and someone had flopped the same straight with the nut flush draw.
@MrAndersonmm Yes, sometimes. You could also call and if a brick comes, shove....someone with the nut straight draw, flush draw could def repot on flop. The games I play in too many people are getting it in with draws and top set to let the nuts go on the flop.
@@troyhbk In the situation described by the person you are replying to, I would have folded also. Flush draw and higher straight draw on the flop? If I was making side bets, I would make a hefty bet that the person with 7-6 and no redraws is going to be the loser on the river. I am talking about a full table with 6 or more people in the hand. The less people in the hand, the better your chances.
Daniel, you're a great teacher, I use your vids to get my friends to play poker!
Thanks Daniel. Been playing 2/2 PLO here in Dallas for a while. Your info. is very helpful.
You teach poker so well man, thanks!
Great information from one of the best and most likeable poker players in the world.I'm an action player first and foremost so love playing PLO. Some great fundamental tips.Next to you Daniel is Tony G.You both are the superstars of POKER.
just happen to stumble upon this page and ended up wAtching 4 videos... good job kid, good insight
I lol'd at 10:35 with Daniels imitation of someone saying "I got the blockers"
Great insight! Love to see Daniel do an O8 hi-low video too.
Hi Daniel, can’t believe I’m only subscribing now... we took a picture together in the aria poker room early hrs during Xmas 2015. You were kind enough to come back to my table and take a pic while you were distributing tokes for Xmas gift to all dealers dealing, never forget!
Thanks Daniel, appreciate you sharing your knowledge.
thank you for sharing this knowledge! love your vids
Thanks Daniel, I'm heading to a home game holdem/plo and figured I better learn a bit ;) This was great.
The advice from this man is really good. Too good. He's giving away secrets.
Thank you!!! Love the way you explain it all
You're a good teacher. Great video. Great personality too.
Great upload thx! And thx for keeping the world company!
Daniel how fast should i play my back door quad draws if i'm holding reverse blockers ???
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Well done sir
Very entertaining and informative as usual, great personality...what's up with the flickering light in the back?
I literally hop in to first PLO in my life just for giggles to switch off from holdem. Didin't have a clue what is going on so i watched this video while learning to play. 2682 players and came 31th. Limped like a true champ (Ivy) and bluffed my way up. Felt very casual compared to NLH. Thanks Daniel!
prolly the best analysis of plo I've seen! thanks brah! you should come back for plo prt2 and 3 and 4... I would watch and re watch. plus you said Phill taught you the game! how much better can this get? ... today's guest phil ivey!!! or @joeingram1!!!
I like to see more Pot Limit Omaha videos out there.
Daniel can you please cover some high / low games? Its kind of hard to find some good material
Love you Daniel. Keep up the good work.
thanks.. for the info...it is a great thing to really remind yourself how to make the right moves and stay smart..or have less risk..
Playing my first PLO tourney tonight. Thanks for the sage wisdom 😂
bravo daniel esti un exemplu pentru noi toti pokeristii :) Thank you for all dawg !!
Thank you for all the great advice!
I just start playing PLO, what I really notice is, when the board paired, any player should be really aware with their straight or flush draw since a full house is quite possible even full house vs full house and when the board trips, that’s even more dangerous
Watched the 5 hour high stakes game just recently with Tony G, Gus Hanson and the infamous Krocodile. lol. I always associated 'pot limit' with 'limit hold em' so I never really gave it much thought. After watching PLO, I think I'd like to give it a shot.
"Some guys" needs to be a little bit more Tranquilo with blockers
The Great Game of Pot Limit Omaha!!!!! DN Is coming for PLOker hands next!!! PLZ MORE PLO!
joeingram1 wasn't he on your show, man?
Claim an infringement.
Competition is good for everyone, especially (Us) for the consumer.
I agree, I want more PLO hands broke down for everyone to see!!!
@joeingram1
I grew up watching Daniel play Holdem and now that I'm older I realize he's just a down to earth cool ass dude 👌
Srsly? He's irritating AF.
Learning and laughing with this video. Appreciated
You are such a nice geezer..need more like you...
Daniel has such a comforting voice.
Wow! An informative PLO vid in 15 minutes!
You should do more plo Videos. Go a Little more into the Detail and Show some tough spots you where in to make plo more understandable!:) good Job man
When you were talking about stealing pots when a flush hits board and you have the Ace, yes it’s a great way to steal but only in bigger games.. all the 1/2 2/4 I’ve played.. you can put someone all in on the river when the river brings out the flush and they will call with 9 high + I would say more often than not. Especially if they had say a straight with back door flush and it hits on river.. they will donk off in 1/2 games for sure
is in position the same as in holdem ...so if you do have kkaa is bb or button a good position. or that is good in any position.
Playing a short stack with an eye towards multi-way pots can work. The idea is to get AI vs dead money or at least 2 opponents with premium runner hands. If you (~min) 3 bet, and figure any pot-sized 4 better likely has AAXX, it's still worth shoving with 8765 (or similar) and getting heads up with dead money in play, or vs 2+ callers.
What’s a good way to construct hand ranges 9 handed live plo. It’s nice to have a plan and strategy before hand so when I get these hands I don’t freeze in game
im a little late to the party, but i really liked your thoughts about PLO. someone might think this is sponsored to get more people to cash into poker sites. which it isnt, i read a lot of great strategy articles to know that :) but i really had trouble following at 1.0 video, i had to turn you down to 0.75 to be able to follow. I mean I really feel your passion, it makes your talking and thinking so quick i couldnt handle it. maybe watch it yourself at that speed, it really sounds how normals speed should sound like - imo. gl at the tables, and thanks for the great video
This rake thing never gets old does it
i just started a PLO tournament on 888poker thought it was NLH ..never played it before.. whatched this video between hands and finished in the money =D thx !
Excellent vid !
Great stuff daniel. Thank you :)
you should do some tripple draw 2- 7 videos next!!
Negranu GOAT. Thanks for the knowledge
Where can I purchase that poster behind you Daniel? Looks like all the pros are watching a Poker game
You are such a good teacher
Thanks Daniel!!
Wondering how much you should ever semi bluff with things such as the nut flush draw. I'm guessing if so only from a later position.
Thanks for the info and with all your pizazz!
Thanks Daniel!
Great video!!!
This video was alot of fun! i love the super subtle war between Daniel and the "other guy". buy yea Daniel just makes more sense and is much more fun to watch!
Thanks for this informative video. Please check the Audio quality and maybe work on the volume and how the sound is heard. The sound quality isn't no were near what it could and should be.
After the wsop is over can you make follow up videos to this please?
Yesss 2nd comment baby! Daniel, u better win bracelet this summer, No joke baby. Start watching rocky now.
I know this is old but I hope someone answers me, if I have pocket 10's and the board is 6789 do I have a straight or does the 2nd ten not count toward the straight?
he's so funny though, I love you Daniel.
thank you Daniel.
everything you do in a poker tble conveys information
All these things I am doing at the moment and I played 2 times only but I have been playing No limit holdem from 10 years
Kid poker never got old.
Shit the equities are tricky in Omaha. By the way, any tip on working out Equity quickly in Hold 'Em? The 2/4 rule with improvements is really good but still I find it slow (for multitabling anyway). How do the Pros do it? Do you memorize situational tables like Flush Draw on the Flop vs Set. Thank you.
Can't you memorize the map {#outs => calling pot odds threshold} for a common number of outs like 6, 8, 9, or am I missing something deeper that you want to know here?
I just made a organic transition to PLO it came naturally I could never find a good book or strategy guide I just kinda understood the odds better than most I'm not a pro by any means but I'm a solid player what are some ways I can take my game to the next level any recommendations??? Or just keep playing and seeing hands and learn from experience??
JonBenait06 thank you that's the plan i do want to it's hard to find PLO games around me even at the casinos I mainly play online thank you for your advice !!
Ok now I can go back over all the wsop vlogs and follow the breakdowns ha ha
Basically you can only win with a flush, a straight or if you're lucky a full house?
can u do a video like this with limit holdem please?
Good game for rake, lots of action.
Cool tips AND Cool Shirt
