LYRICS:
Hey kid let me introduce myself
I’s a friend of your dad’s when he had no one else
I’ll put the party in your life boy you know I can
Have you ever wanted to feel like superman
Oh, Oh
I see that blonde hair over there looking at you
You wanna say what’s up but can’t work up the courage to
But if you stick with me buddy you can bet your life
She’ll be walking out with you by the end of the night so
Don’t listen to momma
Hell I ain’t the devil
Ditch me when you wanna
But if you need a little
I can fix your problems
Always got your back
I can make you famous
By the way my name is….
Shit
It ain't my place but I gotta admit
All the people in your circle man they’re pissing me off
Say you’re broken and you’re soulless and it’s all my fault
So tell me old friend, is it such a sin
All I did was make you happy so to hell with them and
Don’t listen to momma
Hell I ain’t the devil
Ditch me when you wanna
But if you need a little
I can fix your problems
Always got your back
I can make you famous
By the way my name is….
Yeah
Yeah yeah it’s been a hell of a ride kid don’t you agree
Yeah yeah rock bottom ain’t as bad when you’re rocking with me
When you’re rocking with me
So
Don’t listen to momma
Hell I ain’t the devil
Ditch me when you wanna
But if you need a little
I can fix your problems
Always got your back
I can make you famous
By the way my name is….
By the way my name is….
By the way my name is Jack

Wwe2k23 brought me here 😂😂🔥🔥🔥
I’m 2months completely sober & have been at the gym 6days a week since the new year. This song comes on in there all the time & it took me a few listens to realize who “Jack” was. It hits me really hard every single time now, especially that line about being a “friend of your dad’s.” Great song.
Man I've been in that struggle the past few months but that same line hits home for me, I was at odds with my dad when he was drinking but were all good now but I feel like I'm headed down that same road.
You would love the song Cut the Cord by Shinedown
@@swat5395984 well now is the time to lean on your dad for the best advice possible since no one knows you like him and he happens to know the struggle very well also
You're doing great!!
Hope Ur doin good.heroin addict since 21,37 now just off methadone about 3 weeks completely clean for first time as an adult it's so strange because I actually don't kno who I am.
I wasn't expecting screamed vocals especially from a country singer. This album is gonna rock.
He does a great cover of Blurry, too. I think it's safe to say he's more than a country singer at this point. Wait in the Truck just opened the door for him.
@@katrinamillings3651 I swear when I explored him was after hearing this on the radio. I said he sounded like Puddle of Mudd. Then I did a Hardy mix on youtube and it hit that cover! Sounds just like them!
Yea, seen him in concert, wasn’t expecting the screamo which doesn’t necessarily bother me, I’m not a hardy fan by any means this song is catchy but he can’t sing live to save his life. Obviously, his vocals are heavily manipulated.
This actually made it on to a satellite rock station, otherwise I would have never heard it. Love the song, and the lyrics are thought provoking regardless of your view on sobriety.
Eliot in the morning?
I heard it on 97.9
Same man! My mom listened to see what it was, then promptly decided she didn't like it 😂 but I'd heard enough to search up the lyrics
Heard it on 102.9 outta Nashville
I heard it today for the first time on XM radio Octane.
Never took time to listen to country music but I heard this song on WWE 2k23 and couldn’t stop listening
this isn't country music
Same here
me too.
Same lol
As someone who struggles with alcoholism, who has a father, who struggled as well, and committed suicide because it got so bad, the song hits home for me. It simultaneously causes me a lot of pain, and also answers a lot of questions. I still listen to it sometimes, just because for some reason it helps me grieve. Which doesn’t really make sense, but it just does. Please ask for help if you’re having those thoughts. You’re a lot more loved and needed then you know, and the amount of pain that you’ll cause people after you’re gone it’s far worse than anything you did in life.
As someone struggling everyday to keep fighting reading this made me literally tear up thank you for sharing your story
ive found that the harder life gets the more alcohol seems like nectar, but it never stops being poison.
You know it's funny about wanting to hear something which is talking to your grief, and pain, and even though it's not really solving it, it speaks to you. I hope that you find peace. My husband left me for another woman, and 15 years later I still want to hear other stories about this kind of pain.
I wish this song was longer, it's just so good!!
Yeah lol
the only thing wrong with this song is that it isnt 20 minutes lol
Jack Daniels entrance theme. (…and exit theme if you’re not careful)
I just think it’s neat how he rhymes “I can make you famous”with “By the way my name is”. Overall a great tune.
As someone who still struggles with my drinking, this song hits me differently depending on the day. Sometimes it's motivating and is like "Hell yes, it's my friend and here to help" then the next time I hear it, it just screams, "It's hurting you and making you think things aren't as bad as they really are". Either way, this is great song and speaks to some of us very deeply
You got this man. Dealing with my own battles, and its working right now. Its a constant fight. But you got it brother
]]
Well I am an alcoholic and drug addic been clean for a long time because I finally learned the word NO.
I have the same struggles ...good days bad days ...keep your head up brother
simple, just stop drinking. You may ramble about your body needs alcohol, im stressed etc etc. Those are just excuses just like your comment here. It's not about the struggles; it is about you telling others you refuse to stop drinking.
I've never heard such a country sounding song turn into insane scream vocals. I got chills in the car and was so surprised.
That’s why hardy is awesome! Try “sold out”
My husband died 2 months ago and I sit every night and have 3 Jack and Cokes. It fixes things for a little while better than the Valium I’ve been prescribed. Love this song. Someone asked me if I drink alone, I answered no I drink with Jack and he cheers me up.
The best way to sell country is to take the country sound out of it.
I literally did not know it was a country song. I have heard it several times on my local rock radio station.
If you like that look up the duo lakeview
Didn’t realize he was talking about alcohol. And that jack is Jack Daniel’s. The word play is genius.
He always comes through with tremendous wordplay
This made me look at the song differently. Made it that much better
I was a bartender back in the day and watched Jack loosen a lot of mouths and hands, watched as wedding rings were pocketed and told if their wives, husbands or current squeeze called, they weren't there. Jack convinced people they could dance, fight and be who they wanted to be. This was back when music was provided by live bands, "house" bands and karaoke was some drunk who'd stagger up to the stage and try to grab the microphone. Good times🤣
@@angieh5629 yea the ring thing isnt good
@@darthy008 No it wasn't😂 My "regulars" knew if I answered the phone I wasn't going to stand there looking at them and say they weren't there. They'd leave the bar, stand in the hallway between the bar and restaurant so I could say they weren't in the bar. I admit I stretched the truth but it kept the drama down😂
I hear this often driving my work truck and the more I thought about the lyrics the more I was like wait a minute he's talking about Jack Daniels whisky, the thing about needing courage, mom calling him the devil, was a friend of your dads, causing trouble with the people in your life. Super catchy and the lyrics are deep and suggestive despite being rather upbeat. that's a ten.
Also think some influences from the wrestler cactus jack who used to say he’d make you famous
Yeah man, its an alagory but a warning too. This entire song does it very well without explaining any fallout. This song is purely about being in a low or moderate place, and then finding the thing that lets you loose, loose or relaxed, the brain slow enough to realize the problems but too uninhibited with response. This doesn't paint a good or bad picture of "drinking". This is purely a rager song for those who kinda know jack. And he did a great job doing that. Without shaming drinkers. He merely set up the scneario and option or outlet of the feelings. We all know drunks, we all know shitheads. He soley focused on that drunk feeling and relationship with the slow down, quiet noise of it, the clarity but also potentially detrimental results.
I know, I love how he doesn't beat you over the head with his allegories. I had to listen to this twice to "get" it!
This one goes to eleven.
Wwe2k23 got me here ..
Same
If you drink jack leave a like 👍
WWE 2K23 BROUGHT ME HERE ❤😢
Thanks WWE 2k23 for introducing me this awesome songs..
Same!
So who’s here from WWE 2k23 then? Cause is it just me or is this song a banger😭❤️
🔥 🔥 🔥 Hardy leveled up with this track!!!!
I heard this song first while playing WWE 2K23. I loved the song the first time I heard it.
My big brother passed away recently, and his fav superhero was Superman, and he wore superman shirts, had belts, jewelry, and his nickname was "Superman" ... miss him... but man this song is something special.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I've lost a lot of family very special to me as well so I feel your pain..
Oh boy I hope you're not talking about my dad he didn't have a Superman emblem on the inside of his arm did he
Jack truly was my father's friend before I met him. Good times.
This is rocking on wwe 2k23
I gave up Jack 'n Coke in '13. Now it's sweet tea and cornbread, like Bocephus said. This song is so true
Hell yeah, keep on keepin' on.
I love this song it's a good reminder of the two side of being sober and drunk from being an alcoholic I'm hoping to keep it sober
One day at a time and I’m proud of you! I’m still struggling with my sobriety right now.
It's worth it to ditch the facade. One day at a time brother. Merry Christmas
I gave Jack the boot from my life over 12 years ago! He had been my drinking buddy for 35 years If you are struggling help is out there, reach for it. You will get your life back. It's possible
This song hits deep and personal with me 😢
been sober for a little over a year and 3 months now. This song really cuts deep! I own it!
well done
I gave your song a 10/10
After his performance at the Royal Rumble I would’ve never listened to another song of his, 😅 but WWE 2K23 put me on to this song
I thought he was pretty good at the Rumble, but that's just me.
Great song! We need a karaoke version so we can follow the lyrics. My band is learning this song right now, we love it!!
Thank you for getting me into country music, HARDY.
WWE 2K23 brought me here
The song slaps so good

Sober over 6 years and that was my drink
You hear the song differently if you're a fan of the show, supernatural
Surprised when this came on 97.9 GRD rock station
Hi. How are you doing today? Thank so much for your love and support ❤
I hear this song on my way to work every night on our local rock station. Its definitely a banger. Finally a song in the mainstream that most people can relate to
Puddle of mudd vibes
It actually reminds me of Creed's Weathered
Definitely!
This and Tool's song "Sober" are the most powerful songs I've heard on sobriety so far
I didn't realize this song was about alcohol but after listening to the lyrics it makes sense
I had a feeling this was about our old friend Jack Daniels🥃
Saw Hardy live at the 2023 Royal Rumble, pretty good.
Good ol Tennessee whiskey
Heard you on Octane this morning! Hella rocking song!

Hi. How are you doing today? Thank so much for your love and support ❤🎉🎸
Does the intro of the song sound like a sample of another song to any of you? I can almost sing the lyrics of another song in my head to this.
Took me two times to realize who Jack was.
Ooohhhh.. the man is on a roll and I'm still hung up on Wait in the Truck
Representing for us in Mississippi I can't stop listening to this song like the seether vibe
I cannot express how much this song hits home for me ❤

Damn if those lyrics ain't the truth!! Great song!!
Prayers for healing in Jesus name amen
Love me some jack
As a kid who go into drinking way too early and got addicted summer after senior year this song hits too damn hard I’m not addicted anymore but I still drink occasionally and every day after all I think of is Jim beam that night and it sucks
Hardy is him!!!!
Played hockey in the 00’s. Jack, Jim, Glen, a Bud in St. Louis, and 2 John’s from Canada were friends of mine!
2 months sober
Wish it was you with your arms around me fit like a glove
I just heard it on my local station and fell in love with it 🤘 made me think of my troubled father who passed away a few years ago
I am going to see my first concert. At the Mississippi Valley Fair. Hardy. Here I come! Get Ready for a great night!
Dude, I’m hooked - I just heard this on my hard rock radio station. DJ was right to play it- what a surprise! Now I’ve checked out Sold Out and love it too. So… is Hardy creating Country Metal???!!!😊
Country ain't been country western for a long time - 80s came and saw a big push towards digital sounds, 90s pushed country fully into pop territory, and in the 2000s it used that to reach out into neighbouring pop genres like rap and metal. Hank Williams III comes to mind as an artist who does country and hard rock/metal music. None of this is to discount the song - a good song doesn't need to be novel sounding, just done well.
My new favorite song!!
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! Combining new rock with the roots of country music! Dare I say the new crop country outlaws are kicking ass!
Hello, how're you doing, how long have you been a fan of mine?
