I can't believe all those homes literally built right above the water in Connecticut on just miniscule islands!

It sure has changed since we moved to AZ 30 years ago but still love CT. Where is the oldest town in CT - Windsor where I was born.

Excellent views of some very cool places in CT! I'm going to have to visit that castle on top of the mountain now. The vid could have been edited a little better though ... too short a view of any one place, going to the next view before my eyes can hardly adjust to the first view!

I do love my state. However it does look like we all live in mansions castles or have houses on the water! LOL

Welcome to Connecticut, where you have to drive to another town far away just to see those houses....also had no idea those last shots even were in CT....what town are those island houses off of??
@stepheniebowen65279 жыл бұрын
+Stephenie Bowen , those are the Thimble Islands off of Stony Creek, which is part of Branford, CT. There are a couple of tour boats that take you around in season. Nice way to spend the afternoon. :)

A great advertisement for the Uber Rich! Like so many others I know, I had to leave ConTAXticut because the politicians taxed me out of the state.

I loved Conn. while I lived and worked there. But after we retired we just had to get away from those high taxes , especially the ones you pay on the vehicles every year. I also wondered where the small islands with the houses are. I thought that I knew the Connecticut shores pretty well. I know of the little island in Old Saybrook that Catherine Hepburn Once owned but no cluster of occupied islands as you show in your video. In all, very nicely done and I enjoyed watching it, even if not everybody lives in a big mansion. Even going to the shore, Hammonoset state park is no longer free, you got to pay to view the ocean and to go swimming. Not so cool !

esMusicalus You missed it. It was in the middle when they showed all the police cars, dumpster fires, chalk outlines, and evidence markers all over the streets. Then again that may have been Waterbury.

I definitely recognize at least a few of the shots near the end as the Thimble Islands off the Stony Creek section of Branford.

nice video .. but it doesn't show the high taxes, high gas prices, roads that are falling apart, bridges that are falling down, disgustingly dirty downtown areas of our major cities, ridiculously long lines at the Motor Vehicle Department, recipients of welfare money standing in line by the thousands, jails that are overfull of capacity, families leaving the state by a 10 to 1 margin of those entering the state and of course .. a state with a decreasing number of middle class families and a highly educated manufacturing workforce leaving with them.

Could have done without the shots of the mansions along that shoreline. That's not beautiful to me. State has enough disgusting wealth here, and probably getting nice tax breaks to live in such way. Other than that. Nice job. I agree with Amber, cut out the mansions and show the small town feel around the shoreline.

Way to leave out the dumpy cities the rich abandoned that most of the people in state actually live in. This is what everyone thinks of as the picture book version but I've lived here my whole life and this is not Connecticut.
