My thoughts on Devin Haney after his loss to Ryan Garcia

  • I agree. Haney wants to be a slick counter puncher instead of a slick outfighter. He will always have the advantage on the outside sticking and moving. When he tries to be slick in the pocket he ends up making mistakes and getting caught. He needs to embrace his style or he’ll end up damaging his career further.

    • He’s stuck in between styles but he is clearly a lot better at being a slick boxer fighting on the outside than trying to fight on the inside if keeps doing this he’ll eventually end up getting flatline KO’ed

    • @@TheDogHouseYT 💯 he’ll end up like Meldrick Taylor, another outfighter who had an identity crisis that cost him his career.

  • You can be agressive too and be slick. Dimitri Bivol comes to mind but the difference is Bivol is very self discipline where he knows went to be agressive and when to be slick. Bivol for me is getting the underrated boxer in the last 7-8 years. That mega fight with Artur will be his toughest task but he’s got a good gameplan.

    • Lose one match at 25 out of 30 wins- devin is ruined??? Devin needs to fire Bill???🤣🤣 Real talk Ryan is just a good fighter, gotta give credit. They're both good fighters. Fought 7 times 🥊

    • I agree is fans have made this whole mayweather era of boxing by scrutinizing anyone after a loss and calling it being “exposed” but I’m ngl haney and his dad talked a whole lot of crap to get beat pretty damn bad. Tbh I’m not interested in seeing him up against the tanks and those names anymore till he bounces back. No way he’d win. Him and Shakur are a lot alike I feel like with being very good pure boxers and the real ones can recognize the skill but when you got amazing talent like boots Crawford tank benavediz that not only are crazy talented but they are also dropping people and making them quit etc and that’s what we wanna see. I will never see me going out of my way to catch a fight from Shakur and Haney like I would those other names I mentioned

  • It’s a terrible reality when he now realizes he has a bad chin to go along with no power. He got away with it in the lower weight classes but he’s in trouble now. I thought he was better than he is.

  • It’s a weird situation because he’s young but these exchanges where he’s vulnerable especially vs bigger guys like Garcia will land a KO blow and he will take a ton of damage by the time he gets to 30.

  • I've always said that Devin Haney is the second coming of Devon Alexander.

  • No he doesn’t, he’s just not as good as his camp hypes him up and hopes he is, he’s slow, and had no power.

  • I agree with everything besides the part about what he wears. I think that was a reach but good dissection, he wants to be Floyd too much

    • Admittedly might have reached a bit far with that one but the guy needs to find his own identity and be the next Devin Haney
