Hi everyone. Please post any questions down below regarding the welder and I will try to answer them in the review video.
with all your videos on this channel and daggerwin you make everyone happy thank you I know a few people whose lives have been better over COVID-19 from your content and I’m really interested in restoration and I am so excited for fs22!! Thank you so much 😊 Ps I’m so sorry for posting that comment I’ve deleted it now
Q - review: How long can you actually do with those small gas-bottles ?
What is the warranty 50yr I hope 🤞.
@@AgriculturalLife for about 20-30 minutes. It doesn't worth the money. You need at least a 20 liter bottle. It's more convenient. I use only 40 to 50 liter in my workshop and each one last from 6 to 8 hours continuos welding.
Cool set-up. Curious if they have or are planning on an import version for USA Voltage(115V)/Frequency(60hz)?
Hey Daggerwin, just wanted to say thank you for all of your content, you've spent so much time to make us happy
I just found the videos and herd the voice and was instantly thinking that's daggerwin 😂
I have had a 135TE for about 18 years and has saved many cars over the years. Its great for thin tin work and up to 6mm plate. Some tips from 18 years of use I'd advise using argon co2 mix gas makes for a cleaner weld. I set the gas by ear and have it turned up slightly more from when you start to hear it when welding down if your welding up ward like under a car turn the gas up a bit more as the gas is heavy, saves on gas. Also get an auto darkening mask it'll make a load of difference while your building your skills . Avoid welding in wind or even a draft as it blows the gas away. Buy a pack of spare tips. Enjoy your welder.
Just wanted to say thank you for so many great video's and content. The restoration you do has given us many hours of enjoyment and learning. 😀❤🇨🇦
Assuming you have a better face shield, you could use the included one for your camera. Not only do you protect your camera sensor, but we can see what you're doing better. (Like Curtis & Karen do at Cutting Edge Engineering)
Love the content, all welders are different to set up when welding I've found the best way is too keep playing with it till you get the sweet spot for yourself
I am impressed with those quick beads you demonstrated. I look forward to see how it handles.
Looks a great little welder 👍
Welds look good to me mate, it looks like a great bit of kit 👍🏻
Great video daggerwin.
I am happy you have a sponsor! YAYAY
What an awesome super compact mig welder.
Thank you 4 the vid👍👍👍
Very nice welder, thanks for sharing
I have had the 130EN welder for many years in gasless form and it's a fantastic machine. Even in gasless form, it's ideal for doing sheet metal repairs on cars.
Here's to many future weld done projects!
Hobbyweld for gas cylinders, rent free bottles from them👍 welding body work or rusty stuff normal beer gas from your friendly landlord, tends to weld rough metal better and body work fine as it makes a cooler weld pool. It's not the welding machine it's the person using it. Looking good, keep practicing.
I own a Clarke spool gun welder , its been a dam good welder for me .
Find yourself a place that does a rent free bottle, you will burn through all 3 of those within 1 project. A decent regulator is a must to.
this is like dejavue while you were unboxing it looking at it i was looking at my own welder mine is a unimig 170 but indenticle machine but mine has provision for no gas welding great machine
If you can get yourself some 75% argon, 25%CO2 gas (C25), you'll get cleaner welds with a lot less spatter.
It's a cool machine for small applications or a non-pro work, but looks like exactly as any other gmaw/fcaw chinese knock off of the same specs: no euro torch, no ground clamp, no gas flow meter, no voltage regulator. Anyway will still work for any work you might have on this channel! Congrats.
....that should get 'er done, keep safe...
Just got one comes on the 15th got a tractor cab to weld.
I subscribed to you, keep up with the good work Daggerwin, I am also subscribed to your other KZhead channel. I also love unboxing video
Great Video, I enjoyed it. I just brought a Chinese made flux core MIG (no need for gas), and for the price (3,800 Thai Baht / Approx. 100 UK pounds) it welds well, although there is a lot of splatter. It also doubles up as a stick welder too.
You'll always get more splatter with flux core. You may want to pick up a can of anti-stick spray for welding. It works. For any welding outdoors, the MIG will struggle with any breeze. I have a stick, MIG and flux core. The flux core is a small 110v inverter unit and I find that I use it more often than the others. Light, handy and convenient here in the US where 110v is basic household voltage.
It's always so cute to see the welding gas cylinders from overseas. Here they're massive tanks that are some $200+ totally empty and extremely dangerous if not transported properly. I'm just learning to weld, I could really go for one of those little tanks just to get a little experience, decide if I care about doing MIG or if flux core and stick are enough for me. That does look like a pretty basic but solid welder. More expensive than my Yeswelder mig205, looks less sophisticated, but you actually have a knob for wire feed speed directly...
For a bit of sheetmetal it's a decent starting machine, bit expensive in my opinion but it will do the job. As a welder I would suggest you to get a proper 5 or 10 liter gas bottle with 85/15 argon CO2 mix, yes upfront it's a bit more expensive but those small bottles are very expensive in the long run. Second item would be a good LCD automatic helmet. Got a Giant supermig 180S myself, metal feedroler system instead of plastic and detachable torch and only 279 euros, comes in at around 500 euros including a 10 liter 200 bar bottle. Looking forward for the complete review and for the first welds it's pretty decent.
12th edit you video' s are relax keep it up
I have been running a 135 Cigweld mig for years now. Not the best but welds most things I need for work. Thicker stuff I stick weld. At least this sort of size is portable as I have to lug mine around on occasion. Gas is nice but I never use it. Most times welding outside in the wind etc not that good anyway. And the cost of the stuff. Unless you want to weld up a battleship it should do what you want.
I actually thought about getting a small welder for my tiny workshop, but could not decide whether they're worth it. Thanks for the vid, guess I'm gonna be checking out some reviews and availability here in western USA then I think!
Get a flux 125 from harbor freight it’s the best bang for ur buck (professional fabricator) tho if you have good money to spend just get a Lincoln or Miller
@@Ytpooplol thank you very much, I'll look into these. Money is a secondary issue, the unit must be practical and of good quality. I don't mind "cheaper" brands though. That Flux 125 looks like a strong candidate.
It's very respectable bead for someone who says they are not a very good welder
Very nice welder.i have never seen those small canasters before.is that the way they sell gas in your country?I am use to the tall green colored gas tanks.i forget how much they gave but I think they are 40 or 50 pound tanks.
Well, that will expand your range of restoration projects! Look forward to seeing some welding in future content. Did it require any special electrical outlet wiring modifications for powering it?
Hi no special outlet...just standard plug.
@@MachineryRestorer 👍
I used to own this exact model. It is now very dated. I sold mine. I found that there were not enough settings. The original Clarke 120 that I had, had six settings and was far superior. Needless to say, they soon stopped making it and replaced it with a smaller rubbish model. I would not recommend anything with only four settings. The 135TE can not be switched to positive earth for Flux Core. (The 135EN can). I now have a Kemppi Minarc Mig. Although very expensive, this is synergic, extremely compact and portable with carrying strap. I only wish I had bought it sooner. I used to use pub bottles but they became too expensive to refill so now i only use flux core which I do not like but is cheaper. I would only ever buy an inverter mig in future. Other makes are now catching up with Kemppi. My bigger Kemppi 2001 really needs a 16Amp supply circuit.
Cool. How long does a gas bottle last? Are the bottle refillable? Any chance of a more in-depth review welding different materials etc? Cheers
What would you think about taking the motor or motors out of a skyway one of those little electric boards with the Little motors that are strong enough to carry up to 300 pounds. And attaching them to a mower deck under a riding mower.......
I appreciate your content, but I can't say I am totally onboard with this welder. It seems like you can get a comparable Lincoln Welder for the same price. I would be very interested in seeing a side by side comparison, but even the cheap welders can accomplish what this one did with a minimum of welding skill.
IT IS DAGGERWIN xD
Those small gas bottles dont last long. Expensive for what they are. The last time I had a gas mig and used them bottles, they were £10 a bottle and only lasted max 45 mins. If you can, get a pub gas bottle. Can be bought from any bottle gas supply company. You will need a set of gauges and a hose and adapter, but worth it.
Nice idea. Out of interest were you using the 390g or 600g small canisters?
@@MachineryRestorer I cant remember. It was about 17 years ago. I used to get them from car accessory shops. I built a teardrop caravan and had some welding to do on the chassis and used 3 bottles of co2 in one day. After that andthe co2 pub gas bottle ran out, I went to gasless mig and stick welding.
Gas is nice, but gets expensive. I just use flux-core wire now and deal with the slightly extra cleanup.
Looking at them welds - IMHO I'd say you need a little more gas flow. Invest in a cheap nozzle flow meter. A cheap CO2 supply can be had by using expired fire extinguishers - plenty of hobby welders already do this check youtube and ebay etc
85/15 argon co2 mix gives much nicer results and it's cheap after the initial investment in a bottle. Pure co2 works sort of but argon co2 mix gives a much cleaner weld and the puddle is alot more steady.
Either try lowering power, raising gas or both to lower splattering
Can you use this welder without gas? What happens if you use it without gas? Many thanks
A good welder can be so handy. I never did any welding but seen a lot of others do it including my brother who welds for a living, often thought id do a welding course at some point but not bothered yet.
Same welder that I have, Get yourself the large Hobbyweld gas bottle. Those small bottles are useless and it will cost you a small fortune to keep replacing them. I have a video on the conversion on my channel.
Hi Martin, Thanks yes I remember watching your video a few years ago...great idea!
324, Not bad
Clarke are decent basic welders but can't help thinking for just a little more ££ you would have got a much more controllable and capable machine which would have included stick capability. Can you run flux core on that? There again, a useful capability for not much more.
You can not reverse the polarity. With a Clarke 135 EN you can but these are still a DYNOSAUR.
Can you buy an axel spare wheels for this welder
How long does that little tiny bottle of gas last??
Just checking. I've watched some commercials so I can watch a longer commercial? 😅
Do y'all have gas cylinders like in the US? It'll save you money if you use a big tank
Yes that is an option but for me as I have limited space and don't do that much welding this compact design is perfect.
You should pull the weld when using gas
That is always up for debate. Some say pull others say push. I have always been told to push.
No this is incorrect, you want to push with mig to get optimal penetration. 30 to 45 degree angle from the material. There are some cases you have a slight drag but not with a welder like this anyway. Been a welder for more than a decade.
Never seen gas cylinders like before
😎😎👍
That has to be the smallest co2 cylinder I have ever seen. You might want a larger one so that you can save money in the long run. Buying in bulk is the way to go, if it can be afforded. It looks as though you have a nice welder!
They're the standard size disposable cartridges and are readily available and inexpensive. They last a while too.
Actually penetration means actually having a bit of bubble on backside not just a heat mark. Most of the time this means going a setting higher than recommended.
I bought one of these, it does the job but that's about as much as i can say. They're pretty basic and have too few settings to choose from so you run into situation where your steel is too thick or too thin for the settings you have. Something like a Röhr MIG-250MI is a far better machine which uses standard easy to obtain parts, it's much better built and can do far more things and all for basically the same price as this
My dad got 2 mig welders from a guy in my neighborhood for $250 and an old tombstone looking welder for free
How long does the tank of co,2 gas last whem welding 🙄🙄
@Wayne Flanigan we will know the answer to this question where he can reply to this question 👍
They don't last long, all depends on the flow rate they are set to.
Daggerwin, I don't know if you're familiar with the YT channel: "Maker B" but I thought of you the whole time I watched his latest video i.e.: he machined an engine [every part except the spark plug]. You dismantle/repair engines while showing all of the parts; well he *machined his own* then fired it up. It's not full scale; it's for bigger RC applications, but that doesn't matter. A lawn mower engine isn't the size of an car engine either, but what you do is still impressive. I thought I'd pass the link along just in case you're interested: kzhead.info/sun/e9dxqquFi2iVmp8/bejne.html Thanks for what you do btw. *God bless.*
Question: what’s the specs? Other then it’s a 135AMP welder
Hi
Buy anti spatter spray
Get a bigger gas bottle them little things are not gonna get you through a project
If your looking for another unique mower to restore I have one for free if you want it's a hayter 24 motorscythe from the 50s
this MIG welder looks so much smaller than the TIG welders I have at my tech center...
