He spotted Kai (who he is a fan of), Kai was flabbergasted he had fans in Japan, figuring out he was from Taiwan, made him even more amazed. They became friends and explored Japan together. Then Ray went to Kai's house for a few days. Now Kai is at Ray's. That is why Kai has a emphasis on how amazing it is that he is in Taiwan meeting Ray's parents.

I’m black and my boyfriend is Taiwanese, his parents came to California to visit and they were incredibly kind and accepting, so much so that I went to Taiwan with him months later and the people were so welcoming, sure I got stares but they were just curious, and while it’s true that there isn’t much there to do compared to the states, I would move there without hesitation. The sense of community is amazing, Japan, too.

They are literally just built different when it comes to being formal and kind to the point they bring gifts when apologizing sometimes. Notice the principle barley spoke and Kia said he had an aura…that’s because the principle knows he’s the boss man and in their culture he has to stay formal and respectable that’s why he’s the principal. I knew he wasn’t gone say much because he’s a very formal man and he is at work. Still showed Kia love but he kept it extremely professional and formal while showing respect to Kia.

Met a girl from Taiwan who was visiting my city for work purposes in November, had to be the absolute most wholesome and genuine friendship I've had with anyone. She singlehandedly became the reason I got my passport & wanted to learn about a whole new culture outside of the interests I've had most of my life beforehand. Nice to see a more modern and larger influencer giving Taiwan some attention, and hilarious to see the gifts being given similarly to what I was given. I was the first black man she ever met + befriended in person, so she was interested in black culture too. Felt like nothing but love and respect coming from her.
