    • Hmm, I've got a huawei p30 lite, it's not listed on the list, if you can get the app to work on your phone can you be sure it will work, or will you not find out until you try to connect to the drone?

    • @@paulrichardson9319 no, but you will need Internet connection to load the map up, you get much better range when you switch your phone to airplane/flight mode.

  • Great videos, Ed. I just bought a Mini 2 and this is a perfect demonstration of starting out-of-the-box to basic flying. I flew the Phantom 4 as part of my old job, but it's been a few years since I last flew. I got the Mini 2 because I wanted to get back into flying. Thanks for the videos!

  • And don’t forget to tap record to start filming! The amount of times I’ve failed to do this is really annoying! I get the drone in the air fine, fly it a bit and then suddenly realise I’m not recording! 😢

    • Buy a fast memory card too, people. When you get home and see that the footage is corrupted, you'll wanna punch something 😂. Use a SanDisk extreme or something.

  • Ed, you're to be commended. This pair of videos wins the equivalent of Oscar for actually covering the goals in a way that isn't intimidating & doesn't assume knowledge on the viewer that isn't there (yet). Mini 2 is inbound along with a dedicated refurb Pixel 4 XLT, so I'll be reviewing again. Great production and thanks again for taking the time.

  • Once again I have learned a better way of doing things. This time it was calibrating the compass. Forever, I have been trying to recalibrate by turning horizontally and vertically by using hand motions. Walking around the landing pad seems to doing the trick much more easily. Thank you. Of course that is not the only thing I have learned but it is the easiest for me to implement immediately. Thank you!

  • Hi Ed, there' s also another trick to land safely or actually avoid landing while your mini 2 is hovering just grab it from the bottom safely and flip it there is a safety mechanism that will stop the blades from turning, next you will just power off like you first did while starting it, thank you so much for you wonderful video.

  • Thanks so much for this awesome video. My wife and I were in Cabo recently and we were on a boat with a gentleman from California that professionally taped our whale watching boat ride from his drone. He let me fly his drone and tape too. He had a much more expensive DJI drone. When I arrived home I did research for days for the best entry level drone and the DJI Mini 2 was a hit with everyone. So I purchased one today since I'm a beginner and I could afford the price. This video of yours will help me a ton on learning to fly it for the first time! I am so excited! From what i have read the DJI seem to have the best reputation out there and they are very popular. Thanks again for your great video.

  • Got my Mini 2 "Fly More Combo" a couple of days ago. Can't really fly it at the moment owing to "essential travel only" being permissible here in the UK, but I'm really looking forward to trying it out for the first time (I'm a Newbie!) as soon as the restrictions are lifted. Thanks for this video though - it's pretty much everything I need to know to get started. Lots of other Mini 2 vids have missed out the "Flight Tutorial" thing - thanks to you, I'll be sure to try that first. Brilliant Ed - Nice one! :)

  • I'm tardy to the party here but I want to thank you for knowing I'd show up eventually! Great video tutorials. Easy to follow, well thought out and executed. I found to be quite helpful, especially for a ever-so-slightly-above-beginner pilot.

  • I really like my mini 2. It's the new crack for old guys. I can't stop flying. Way too cool. Great videos. I haven't even gotten out of Cine mode yet because that's fast enough for now...

  • Great tutorial for us newbies, Ed...thanks! Great tip on pointing the gimbel down to see the landing pad. I tried landing by line of sight and it was difficult to manuever it directly over the pad. Thanks again and subscribed.

  • I already have a DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone and had the flying part down. I was however looking at this video to see if the Mini 2 was an extra option for me. This content/video is just perfect (still don't know if I buy the drone!) but the way you make this content easy understandable and appealing for beginners is really great. So from a viewer and subscriber from Denmark, thumbs up!
