@ it is not a one off. It is a one off only in body. That is pathetic. Super car manufacturers have lost all craftsmanship today. At least give it a new engine, suspension, drivetrain or something to make it unique. A body alone is pathetic. People have made very realistic looking Lamborghini bodies doesn't mean the car is more than what it actually is a heap of junk. A one off just from body panels 😂😂😂. Pathetic.

I mean the people that spend this kind of money on a vehicle they live in another kind of reality, the cost of this car for them would put a dent in their pockets in the same way for us when we upgrade a Big Mac in McDonalds to big fries and drink lol. But I agree with you, theres no way im giving you 14 million+ for just a freaking body. I would BUILT an insane car collection with that money alone lol.
@@fungus_am0nguz644 it's not the price I'm trying to get at, but the fact these car manufacturers have become corporations whose primary concern is making as much money as possible. They're primary concern is not making the best cars they could possibly make. It's what cars will make them the most money in their market. You still have manufacturers like Pagani, Koenigsegg and Gordon Murray's new company (but I honestly hate the look of his new designs) that maintain that primary concern of making the best cars possible. When enzo Ferrari ran the company his primary concern was making the best supercars in the world, and the money would come from his passion. Now it's the opposite way round primary concern is money and in the process we may make a car that is the best in the world. But more often than not that's not the case. If Ferrari wanted to they could make every single car on their lineup right now better in every single metric. They could make them lighter, faster, better handling, more exclusive, more attention to detail, reliable etc however they'll only make them good enough up to the point that gives them the most profit, if making the car better than that would result in a smaller profit they won't do it. Another example is Audi. It took months for the lead designer to convince a bunch of people in suit and ties in a board room surrounded by charts and statistics about finance and profits, to get them to allow the bonnet/hood of the new RS6. For them they didn't care it looked better but that it had to make sense in terms of maximising profits as much as possible. You could still make a profit with the aim of the old world passion for making the best possible car. But these corporations don't just want to make A profit. They want to make the biggest possible profit they can.
Wow that story about the Audi lead designer i didnt know. I must have been so crushing for him (even though he got it approved) to make a presentatiion for freaking maximizing profit on that part of the car.....and i like Audi. Here is the states everything is driven so much by it that at the end few things get done. Good write up btw

It´s only a 1:1 scale model, the actual car isn´t finished yet (I guess). The calipers appear to be dummies which are fixed to the rims...

Personally, I'd take a standard Chiron (or the Super Sport). Having said that, it's not a buying decision that I'm likely to face any time soon.

@@TheMazza595 Too much rotational mass I'd guess, especially at the speeds these things are designed to hit. A spinning disc is far easier to balance and way lighter.

This isn't a real car, it's basically just a shell to show the design with nothing underneith. Just look at the calipers when it's rolling.. It's powered by some small electric motor to move it around like we saw here.

This is not the real one, just the prototype. The real LVN was delivred to the customer few weeks ago.
I'll take the Prototype. It's the body design of the car that people are admiring and paying huge sums of money for. Nobody cares if it can't go 150 MPH and nobody should be driving that damn fast anyway.

this is likely a prototype and the actual car hasnt been finished look at the brake calipers also this car will apparently do 0-100 kmh (62 mph) in 2.5 seconds and go 420 kmh (261 mph)

Semantics.......I appreciate this vehicle, but was happy with the four Renault 10s that I owned...I worked on them myself...simple, funny little voitures....the aesthetic for the Bugatti is means only....not my means, nor yours....like appreciating a Rembrandt, or Caravaggio, or a Guarnari del Jesu violin....you wont own it, but still wonder at its beauty...and unattainability.

If you look at the big 3 in the us (Ford, Dodge, and GM) you'll notice they are putting the most powerful engines in automotive history heir vehicles today. Its a swan song to internal combustion. This car was ordered by me for me . I cancelled the order when on closer inspection there was a severe lack of cup holders. I consequently bought some sort of Sabaru SUV which has 19 cupholders . I thought for the £16m I was going to spend on this vehicle it would have a few more cup holders , don't you think ?
