Man I really wanted this game to succeed not as a COD killer, but as COD competitor so that Activision would finally be forced to try and add new better things to their Multiplayer modes, but alas.... seems like they'll keep shoving MP to the side and only cater to Warzone once again. 😭

High skill players like Jev constantly praise the movement in this game, but for anyone who doesn’t play the game 24/7 it is going to constantly feel like a sweatfest bc while I just want to run around and shoot my gun Mr. 24.63 k/d is going to spam movement tech and ruin it for all the general players.
The server test is likely more sweaty since it’s going to be the diehard FPS fans trying it out. But I see this being even more of a sweat fest than cod when it releases

I played the last tech test and I just felt like people were just lying about the game. Saying that the movement was some of the best, no SBMM, and felt good to play. When I played it, it was nothing but the sweatiest of sweaty rounds, leaving mid match just to find myself going up against the next CDL tryout… I feel like they have recently ever since they said something in their blog post about SBMM in COD it’s been more chill, could be just me but it feels nice to play. Then the movement just felt off the entire time I was playing, it just didn’t feel right. At the time I said it was like siege movement, but it’s actually worse than that… It’s sad because I want a competitor to COD to light a fire under their asses and make good games again. MW3 is a good multiplayer game (I’ll never forgive them for that campaign though) and is a step in the right direction, I hope it keeps going that way. But yeah, XDefiant just isn’t it sadly.
You forgot to mention the "Slower-Than-Dirt" Matchmaking times, which combined with the fact that the lobby disbands after each match, makes it feel as if you are spending more time waiting to play than actually playing!

A lot of people loved this server test but for me, same experience as the betas. Input lag. Getting shot around corners. Bullets not registering. Just terrible. Great vid. The guerillas will remember this day forever! LOL sorry had to throw that in there.

Ubisoft has been notorious for having awful servers and their own services in the way of connections like Uplay. Even if they fix their stuff. People in less populated regions like Oceana will still suffer as a result. The game looks good but the specialist stuff and excessive movement won't be fun to play against. I didn't even bother purchasing mw2023.

Oh, I forgot to mention the daily challenges not tracking. I just got finished getting 31 kills using the ACR and I need 25 for my daily challenge. Only 6 kills counted out of my 31 total kills. I was destroying using the acr getting full kills. I know I also got 3 grenade kills and 5 pistol kills but I should definitely have more than 6 AR kills.
Only valid thing you said was the net code, it is like COD is paying all the mid yt channels to hate on the game. You didn't even increase your fov and you're a mf gta content creator. Do not find you as a valid source on FPS shooters

They need to just scrap the hero shooter element all together and go with viable kill streaks. Did they NOT pay any attention to Battlefield 2042? The fact that I'm nearly every single comment online, this is the 2nd biggest gripe behind the desync and hit registration issues, yet they refuse to listen, makes me think that this is going to be a MWII situation all over again. I've been feeling like that since last September after Mark went AWOL and only FINALLY responded to anything after 7 months of silence when Tom Henderson released the article with inside Intel from disgruntled Devs. That really put a bad taste in my mouth. Then to pay it this weekend, thinking that all is the issues would finally be cleaned up only to discover that LITERALLY NOTHING AT ALL had changed, with all that time to fix it during the delay, 100% confirmed what those disgruntled employees were saying. Now we are hearing that they scrapped everything that the have worked on for the past 6 months and went back to the same build we played in September that had so many issues. Why the heck did they do that??? All of it! I honestly want to see them swallow their pride and show us what the have cooked for the last 6 months because it sounds like the actually added kill streaks and the things we have asked for. We were given a copy and paste of the same thing we played in September and it's not looking good. Truly makes me upset and sad.

I played it today and I can say that this game is so bad. None of my shots counted. It doesn't have sbmm but it kinda feels like everyone is sweating, much worse than cod. I do not recommend wasting your time playing this game.
Honestly XDefiant is what made me finally see what’s wrong with hero shooter elements with how limited and boring they are, like straight up if they copied some of COD’s perks it would be way more interesting than having specific characters tied to abilities

I'm a the division main player here. I always have my doubts about xdefiant. I don't even needed to play the beta to know this Ubisoft at its mediocre and out of touch ideas. Just from watching content creators play one match was enough for me to make up my mind about this

Game has many issues. I don't think that net code will be fixed, it's probably the same peekers advantage as it is in R6... Another thing that it's bad in this game is wasting time... I checked that I have only 50% time spent in game while playing... Long time to search a game, long time to load, annoying 30s pre/mid/post round breaks... They should honestly cut those annoying breaks and make faster matchmaking ... Last thing is aimbot(console) players... Really annoying, when I noticed when someone was killing me too much, too fast, often while jumping... yeah they were console players... Aim assist is insane in this game...
People really are just praising the game just for what it stands for. The no sbmm classic cod devs that’s it. The game itself is so bland and generic and a clunky mess. That’s why I say I don’t care about the whole sbmm talk. If the game isn’t polished or good then the lack of sbmm won’t help it. Cod is 1000x more fun to me compared to this even with the amount of sbmm bs going with it
XDefiant makes me appreciate COD’s gunplay so much more.
XDefiant lost their best launch window with MWII being in such a unenjoyable state. And with MWIII having the best Multi support in recent years, and the hype for Gulf War will most likely overshadow XDefiant if they launch Their best launch window would probably be when Incompetent Ward drops another stinker to get the same hype they had in the beginning
I understand what you're saying about this game, but in the modern CODs, i still die when i get behind cover because in the kill cam, it still shows me before i get to cover. (Im not defending Xdefiant by saying this just in case someone thinks that).
Killcams aren't exactly accurate a lot of the time with what the opponent actually sees.
I was so uninterested in this game the minute I found out there was no killstreaks in playing my first match last year.
I honestly would prefer it if they took out the abilities and made them killstreaks instead lmao

Fire bullets are another thing I didn’t even mention. Causes trading in gunfights. None of the class abilities make the game fun. They make it worse.

Server test thoughts: The shotguns are absolutely miserable to use, ARs and SMGs are the primary weapon classes you should be using, the Hero Shooter trend needs to die down. I didn't mind basic movement in games like CoD, lest the games are Titanfall or Exo CoD.

You could tell a guy was using ghost or had a shotgun just by looking at him. If they really need to monetize player customization, just go the Ghost route with different pieces.

I enjoyed the first beta as it was during the same time period as mw2 it was good with barely any bunny hoppers or sweats in the server test i actually felt like they implemented sbmm or something as i been getting into matches where most of them are jumping bunny hoppers and when they are on my team they start to do crappy also plus they removed the echelon due to a bug issue so thats a plus but other the abilities are way too bullshit and broken especially the shield

The janky movement, animations and aiming turned me off already. The stupid abilities were just topping on the cake. I had way more fun with MWII than I'll ever have with this. It feels like whenever ubisoft tries to copy something it becomes the same but worse

Removing sbmm is not the answer. Top players are better than most of the player base so naturally any match they Que into (without sbmm) they be better than most of the lobby. Essentially without sbmm only good players get to have fun. No sbmm will kill off the casual players which is the most important demographic in FPS games. Once that happens it leaves only the sweatiest of players, playing eachother which is the exact opposite of what people want. Sbmm needs to be in modern gaming.

3:16 Please stop saying CoD has SBMM when it doesn't. It has EOMM (Engagement Optimized Match Making), which is so, so much worse. Overall skill has nothing to do with it. The matchmaking in CoD goes off of recent preformance and either throws you into ultra sweaty lobbies or into a lobby of bots, more often the former. It's specifically designed to keep you playing while also keeping your KD at as close to 1.0 as possible. Calling it SBMM instead of EOMM is exactly what Activision wants because their EOMM system only works if players don't know just how much it's manipulating them. That said, honestly, if XDefiant can fix it's netcode and gets consistent updates, it does have the potential to rival cod simply by not having EOMM. Rn tho, it's nowhere near that level.
