    • 7 years for simple trespassing is fucking insane. I think that's the most unjustified punishment on this list. I could see target banning them, or community service or something, but over half a decade of your life ripped away....for staying inside past closing and leaving at 3AM? punishment doesn't fit the crime, but it also isn't shocking. There is a particular issue in the American Justice System that punishes certain people far more harshly than another person for the same exact crimes.

    • Prosecutors won’t charge criminals for actually stealing things from stores in broad daylight right in front of security guards, but they will charge these two with felonies. and even a corrupt politicians that steal hundred thousands or millions is just sentence for 4+ years. People that actually steal or destroy other people's property or injure people should be charged with felonies. There was literally no damage done to anyone here. misdemeanor charge not felony. stupid lawmakers or prosecutors hired by target millionaire owners.

If you are school bound you are allowed to have own laptop. As have been to prison myself I had my laptop with me and I actually made a business while there. I made copies of porn movies and sold them to other inmates, actually made me having more money when released then when I was incarcerated.

  • I did 1 year in the county and just got out this past September over a stupid mistake that could have been easily avoided. I was in the Army, had a nice job with a reputable bank and was in school online to get my business degree, all of that changed the moment I became a convicted felon. It’s been 2 months and I’m still rebuilding what I lost but after much reflection, I’m starting to understand what’s truly important in life and that’s my daughter. She was born 4 months before I got released and she is my world. I felt like a monster because of my actions but when she looks at me, I feel like I’m wearing a cape, it’s a joy I really can’t explain with words. I say all of this to say… We’re human. Mistakes will be made and sometimes we will lose much when it happens but it’s never to late to stop, reflect, learn and move forward. I hope whoever’s reading this has a blessed day.
