Wow good cast Mate - my dream one day is to catch a Barra- I cannot eat River or Farmed as they have a weird taste to me. I want a a fresh sea Barra if there is such a thing hahahaha. Cheers Denise- Brisbane

my last outing was sad 2 garfish 8 crabs and 3 squid poor effort for a day

I prepared Garlic Basil Barramundi Skillet with Tomato Butter. Just kidding that would be far beyond my cooking abilities. I simply crumbed fillets of the fish and had it with a fresh salad, perfect. Thanks heaps for your comment. Take care!👍

What sort of rig is that mate for live bait , is the hook about a foot above the sinker on its on line so it can move around , thanks for the vid too was awesome
It is a Dropper / Paternoster rig with the hook set about 30 / 40 cm from the sinker at the bottom. Glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers!👍
Hi , just a few quick questions , firstly your new casting net seems to be working a treat , is it better than your old one, those barras certainly put up a fight and are you in danger of getting taken by a crocodile when your on an open beach like that. Anyway great video as always and two thumbs up , Cheers Jaime.
The new cast net is excellent but not necessarily better than the last couple of nets I have used in the videos. There is always a risk of crocodiles in the waterways and along the beaches of North Queensland. It is important not to become complacent regardless of how familiar we are with an area. Hahaha…bucket o’ death. Ok to keep one now and then. Couple years ago after serious nick necking a fish I switched to Black Panthers for all future commissions to the Esky of redemption. Lot safer.

Hi Brad. What area are you in? I am familiar with the Mud Crabbers in the Gulf on MacArthur River but interested to know your area and river system. Great Barra and nice muddies as well. Get muddies where I am at Corindi Beach near Coffs, but not as big as yours

Barra always put on a good show when hooked and seem to go a bit harder in shallow water. The legal minimum size in Qld to take a Barramundi is 58cm. I let a fish go that was just over the legal size as I already had a couple of good fish. Thanks heaps for your comment. Cheers!👍
