There were no civilians in the building next to Iran consulate but Iran military personnel who directs attacks on Israel thru its proxies.

The US response to the Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus was to veto the UN draft resolution condemning it.
Iran consulate wasn’t hit, but the building next to that. Consulate personnel wasn’t affected and even windows not broken. Check it out
