Ford Reveals A Luxury Car & SHOCKS The Entire Car Industry! | Return Of The Lincoln Continental!
Today, we delve deep into the classic Lincoln Continental's triumphant return! The reintroduction of the Continental, a stalwart in the luxury sedan realm, has sent shockwaves throughout the automotive world. This famous vehicle, which dates back to the 1940s, is poised to redefine opulence on four wheels once more.
The Continental isn't only staring in the rearview mirror in today's changing automotive world. With Tesla's Model S setting the standard in the electric luxury market and traditional behemoths like Mercedes-Benz's S-Class and BMW's 7 Series consistently raising the bar, the Continental has its work cut out for it. Not to mention the domestic competitors, with Chrysler's Imperial making headlines and Cadillac's Lyriq demonstrating what true electric luxury can be.
With this decision, Ford CEO Jim Farley has executed a masterstroke, signalling not just the revival of a classic, but also the brand's vision for the future. This combination of antique elegance and cutting-edge technology could be the formula for rivalry and delighting both traditionalists and new-age shoppers. This Continental promises to be a bridge between the past and the future, with rumours of hybrid powertrains and hints of AI-driven experiences.
So join us as we investigate what the return of the Lincoln Continental means for the car industry, the possible influence on competitors, and why this could be the most anticipated automotive event of the decade. Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe for more in-depth looks at the world of automobiles.
The dumbest thing ever , was US car industry, dropping most passenger cars ! The foreign brands sure haven't! Ford MUST return sedans. The new Continental must be outstanding, and absolutely beautiful!
The last continental was great IMO, and should not have left.
That’s because the Japanese took lunch all American manufacturer’s lunch 😂
it was stupid to give up sedan segment becasue a lot of people like myself find suv not comfortable and only drive sedans.
And SUVs basically all look the same with few exceptions. I'm glad Honda hasn't given up sedans, but I miss coupes most of all.
Another sedan preference here, sure hope Ford gets serious and builds a great Lincoln sedan!!
I haven’t found a single SUV that rides as well as a luxury car. I just bought a sedan and thought I’d be disappointed, but it feels very comfortable and has a very low chance of experiencing a rollover.
Yes sedans are a smart decision because they are generally more fuel efficient than SUVs. Electric is a horrible decision in general, people don’t realize how much power we will need to energize millions of electric cars, not to mention the batteries are far more toxic than any gasoline vehicle. If you want to be green with the world we need to build more hydrogen or even solar powered vehicles. But for now hybrids, even plug in are a lot more intelligent of an option than full electric. For people like me who would love a sedan but, being 6’4” i need hatchbacks unfortunately
There's only a few smooth riding SUVs and crossovers and I prefer sedans too. Much less expensive and always a better ride and more power.
Bring it on a new Continental. Yes , yes , yes ….
Please Ford : No front wheel drive. All wheel or rear wheel drive. And bring back the coach door as an option.
$110,000, sure.
They make it seem like the Lincoln C has been gone for ages when in fact, it has only been 3 years (2020 was last year in production). If they do start the line again, then I hope Cadillac will bring back the CT6. This was the best Cadillac in years.
😊
I was with you until you said bring back the ct-6 lol ct-6 is not a name it's a cold alphanumeric designation that has no legacy and elicits no emotion, they need to bring back something closer to the Fleetwood with very luxury oriented models and more European themed models, possibly even with some distinct bodywork. And of course a coupe version like a new eldorado (that could be once again co-produced with a new Riviera for cost savings and unseen parts sharing) would put it back in the game with the large European and Asian coupes, a market that America completely owned for decades but completely surrendered in a stupid but stereotypical chase of a short-term trend that jeopardizes long-term stability. Families are smaller than ever and only getting smaller, many people would enjoy a large comfortable easy to drive coupe in their middle-aged and golden years, not a look-alike troop Carrier.
I would consider the purchase of a new Riviera.
@@Jack_StaffordAmen ..very well said 🙏 CADILLAC SHOULD BE CADILLAC and not a foreign alphabet soup naming brand
CT6 is being made, today, in China for the Chinese market. No importing to USA. The 2024 CT6 refresh is stunning. Inspired by the Escala concept.
The only thing shocking is that people keep falling for this clickbait. There is no new Continental. You’ve got unlimited access to official websites and yet nobody noticed there is not one mention, not even as a concept, on the Lincoln website about a new Continental.
What a bizarre video. The Lincoln described was introduced in 2017 and discontinued in 2020.
If this is another EV no way would I consider this, It will have to be better than a Lexus.
It will probably have the Aviator's hybrid powertrain as an option or something even more powerful. The Aviator hybrid has the same 3.0 twin-turbo v6 (400hp & 415lb-ft) that all Aviators have plus the electric motor which steps it up to 494hp & 630lb-ft. That would be a pretty fun powertrain in a sedan like the Continental. It would be even more fun in the MKZ but it doesn't sound like they're bringing that back. Also, I think they said it will be their most powerful engine yet? So they should be stepping things up a notch
O.K. boomer.
Don’t get twisted over whether it’s an EV or not. There is no new Continental. Ford makes a Continental for the Chinese market on the last cancelled Taurus wheelbase. They have no plans to import it the US. Whoever put this video out cobbled it together snippets from a ton of other videos. Even used Doug de Murro’s voice out of context talking about a completely different car.
I drive a 2017 Lincoln Continental. I’m ready to upgrade to this new Continental model‼️❤️ It 👍🏽
I’m surprised a real Lincoln owner doesn’t know this video is clickbait. There is no new Continental. This concept car has got be six years old by now. Like clockwork people keep making videos recycling it as “the big reveal!” of the ‘22, ‘23, ‘24 Continental. But go to the official Lincoln website and see if you can find any mention of it. Not one.
@@itsabovemenow1016 Lincoln will make this Continental or a similar one some day in the not too distant future.!!! I am and have been a Client of ADVANTAGE FORD - LINCOLN in Duarte, CA for a few decades. They advise these new Continentals and other models will be on the market soon.!!! 👍🏽 Believe whatever you want to, but I’ll take it directly from the manufacturer! Ford is the absolute best Manufacturer in all of History!!! In the 1940’s, FORD built the B-24 Liberator Bomber that helped win the Second World War. THE FORD B-24 Plant Produced one Liberty every HOUR! And every single one of those Bombers flew off to win the War for the ALLIES. Nobody does that shit except for the GREAT FORD/LINCOLN MOTOR COMPANY ….BAM‼️ Love me my LINCOLN and FORD’s❤️
How is it I’m thinking of buying one
Looks almost beautiful to me ! I like the idea of revisiting the "pillow top" seat design. My only real complaint will always be size. I wish the grace and elegance of the full size 70s and 80s era would come back. Nothing says says luxury to me more than a car with a long hood I can see in front of me that makes an announcement before I arrive.
I want a land yacht!
Also make a Stretch Lincoln as a Presidential Limo - it was once, and should be again -
They made one in 2017-2021 versions
You might want to let Lincoln in on this news because there's no mention of it on their website so they don't seem to have any plans at all.
They should also bring the Lincoln Zephyr (Chinese market only model) to the US market. I hear it is actually really nice and it looks pretty good
Nothing from ChYYYna is good 🤢🤮
I won't buy any vehicle made in China.
The Zephyr is just the Ford Fusion, right? Or is it the Five Hundred?
@@j2skillfulIt’s the Ford Mondeo & Taurus now. Which used to be Mondeo & Fusion
Everything you Sell in America, must be Built in America ..as in The United States
Suicide doors would.have made this a hit.
It needs to be Rear wheel drive, and have the suicide doors. I think it would be a great car.
They made 80 coach door models in 2019 and 150 in 2020.
Yes sir. They were sold before they ever saw a showroom.@@frederickboulwareiv9790
Be would be cool and bring back Taurus SHO and Gran Torino. Take the Maverick name off the truck and rename it Rancho. Then bring back the Maverick as a Saden small 1.
I will believe it when I see it advertised on TV or see it at a Lincoln dealership, and hopefully don't drop dead when you see the selling price. I will keep my classic Lincoln town car.
Hopefully they can get them out faster then my FORD MAVERICK that has been on order for over a year and still no sign of a production date.
Always have been my favorite car of choice Ford/Lincoln. Don't get me wrong, I love automobiles period. Imports are nice and expensive, but usually reliable. Come on Ford and Lincoln show us what you got!
Hopefully the Lincoln Continental and Lincoln Town Car comeback, real large and luxury cars are what luxury and comfort are about.
I enjoy my 2017 Lincoln Continental, it's a great ride that is fuel efficient and has the horsepower to play! I've looked around at SUVs (just checking them out), and I've not found one that has the backseat and leg room the Continental has. Very satisfied with this car.
The new Lincoln Nautilus has more now
I find SUVS distasteful & Crossovers ridiculous, if you don't need them for a utility, or work , big family etc ! To eliminate autos is horrible & taken the fun out of the car market! .The foreign brands will not abandon passenger cars & that's excellent!
How’s the maintenance
@@pimpdizzle305 My 2017 has 60,000 miles and I've done the regular oil changes and had all the fluids recently changed out. Had a "high end" brakes installed all the way around for $1,100. Since my vehicles are not driven much, the Lincoln can drain a battery. I've just installed the second battery in five years. Any issues reported with the car have been immediately taken care of by the dealer. In all my years of purchasing vehicles, I found the Lincoln dealer to be the best.
❤😮😊 Lincoln is a sweet car and nice ride to ride in. It’s so smooth I rode in my friends Lincoln and we were cruising at 7580 and don’t even feel like it.
Please don't tease me like this... I seriously hope this will happen. I'd love nothing more than a Continental in my garage the next time I buy a car. But if Ford is going to do this, they better get it right. Say it with me, Ford.... REAR... WHEEL... DRIVE!!
I have a 2017 Lincoln continental all wheel drive issues with the window and door handles not opening other than that great car
Ford should bring back an updated reliable gas powered 4 cyl. Escort too. They would not be able to build them fast enough if they did.
Would love to see a USA design and manufactured Continental but my bet is that Ford will bring over the Chinese Lincoln and pass it off for a continental.
Now, Mr. Farley, keep up with your bold marketing plan and give the world a Lincoln convertible!
Greetings from southern Ontario Canada my funeral home owns a Lincoln towncar hearse which is very rare thanks for sharing this video with me
If there is 20 recalls in the first year ford will consider it a success!
"FORD-Fixed Or Repaired Daily"-But...Have to be fair....have had several over the years and they have been good & reliable vehicles.
I've owned two Lincoln's. A 68 and a 93. Loved em' both. I now at 80 yr own my second Mustang (not the e-car) a 2020 convertible. It now has 50 k on the clock and still in love with it. The continental your showing is what I need to go to a place to see it in person.
Lincoln needs a sports luxury car to compete.
We should have a change in government that actually would do their job. Buy, stop and corruption because that's what killed industry's for-profit.
Bring back sedans!!!!!!!!!!!! And muscle cars!!!!!
A hybrid or PHEV Continental would be a wiser path than an EV. That would avoid the hassle of recharging on long trips while providing both power and improved mileage.
Im close to retirement three years ago bought a Lincoln mkz luv it
Unless a release date is announced, all these stories are just fantasy.
very informative and useful info in the AI Car industry
If they don't fix their reliability/quality problems, this complicated car will be a failure.
What is this? They just discontinued it two years ago.
Lincoln is a true Luxury Car
I love the name Lincoln Continental it's the best luxury it made the Town Car to I would get one because I love Lincoln
Bring back the Ford Taurus too (gasoline version, NOT EV).
Wow looks amazing 😊
Well hopefully it’s not an electrical nightmare like they have been known to have.
True
A few years ago I saw a continental protype with shoved door and a very late 60’s early 70’s feel and I would love if they did it
JUST START BUILDING THE TAURUS AGAIN AND I'LL BE HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY.
I remember Hawaii five O would drive in a Lincoln Continental and thought it was a slick car back in the day my grandmother bought one and it was luxurious and classy. I remember riding in it and how the suspension was so smooth, like floating on the street. Glad to hear it's coming back
Hawaii 5O Mcgarrett drove a Mercury.
@@rgbigdog basically the same thing but in a class lower.
@@NeilGonzalez-cl3jh do a internet search on Steve Mcgarrett's car it will show a big black Mercury. The big Mercury looked a lot like the big Lincoln.
I will never understand why American luxury cars adopted those rounded muffin-type European cars as models for the American consumer. The most beautiful cars were the Lincoln Continental Mark Vs and VIs, especially the black and grey Givenchy model. These new Continentals, in spite of size and modernization, look like souped-up Volkswagons - in a more elegant way. And I swear by my 1997 black on black gold package Lincoln Presidential Town Car. I am so sorry I ever traded in my Givenchy Mark; but I still hate myself for trading in my Town Car for this newer Lincoln. Please return to the computerized dashboards which show everything in large numerals, with no need to trace needles for information.
We all know Ford is also about to bring back the *Fusion and Focus* because their electric Mustang Mach E, Escape & Edge aren’t selling as expected. Only vehicles keeping Ford afloat are police fleets of the Explorer, Ford Bronco, gas combustion F150, heavy duty pick trucks and cargo vans.
Looks way better than a Lexus !!
Well, it’s about time!! When can I put in my order?
Now they should bring back The Taurus, which is sold overseas and make it affordable.
Will it come to Australia
...whilst workers are striking ?? how's that electric mach-e doing ? oOOf
Jurassic park is back !!! 👍
I can't find a link that says this video is true.
Gotta admit it would be a hot item. Call the fire department!
Good for Ford. I'm sick of SUV's they all look the same to me.
I hope Ford has learned a good lesson with there disastrous high tech f150 lightning disaster . How about offering something simple and functional yet fun to drive without all the useless high tech gadgets so that the most people could afford it. Farley will bankrupt Ford eventually after he has exhausted all his dumb ideas.
It looks like the recently discontinued model.
This could draw Chrysler 300 & Buick LaCrosse, CT6 buyers. Even ICE Cadillac buyers who have been left behind by the brand transformation into EV. This car could also be imported off a Chinese line to cut costs & repackaged as a Mondero replacement if Taurus won't do Ford would be wise to keep Continental cheaper than rivals.
If FORD want to sell cars like the Lincoln, they have to move the assembly plants back to the United States from Mexico.
Unfortunately - this site is just a clickbait site and most if not all of its content is simply not true. THey get you to read the messages that monetizes the site - but they make it all up
The Lincoln Continental and Town Cars were the best of all American cars. The Continental out did if self with 3.0 t.
I see a lot of comments using the word stupid. The most stupid thing about this automobile is not incorporating the suicide doors.
1,456 swoosh sound effects have distracted me.
Bring back the Crown Vic!
Ford used to build great cars. I got one of the first CVs from St. Thomas, ON in 1995. fantastic! the next Merc was good but not great. WHY? am now in a '07 Camry. may be buried in it. can Ford repeat? not optimistic. not even for cars of other Big 3s. WHY?
This is the time for Salantis to bring back an oldie but goodie Chrysler Cordoba . 2door Luxury ride Modernized .
What the hell are you even talking about, the Lincoln Continental has been available since 2017-2020, They act like it's been gone since the '60s...
Baby Jane Hudson approves as I do as well
Unfortunately I have to hate to be a wet blanket about all of this but all of this clickbait that you're hearing is just that... Online clickbait I believe strongly that there is and yet market for sedan two coupes and I do believe that the coupe and sedan Market should never go away. And absolutely these models need to respond to today's market such as electric propulsion, autonomous driving, Hi-Tech conveniences, and industry Dynamics. BUT.... Do the big-3 truly have the stomach and the guts to bring back a niche vehicle Market at a time when we are having strikes due to the outrageous amounts of money that CEOs are making as opposed to assembly line workers; not to mention the rising competition not only from other OEM manufacturers but newcomers as well as increased competition from Evie newcomers both foreign and domestic particularly the future rise of Chinese vehicles entering the United States market in the near future.if any of this is true and naively speaking I hope that it is.... It would be a significant and correct move( marketing wise)for the big-3 at least in terms of short-term plans... AKA like Joe Biden joining the strikers and picket line....BRING BACK A NICHE MARKET FOR AMERICAN LUXURY ENTHUSIAST AND FAMILY SEDANS AND COUPES USING TODAY'S TECHNOLOGY OF EEVEE'S / HYBRIDS AND ALTERNATIVE FUEL SOURCES... MAKE THE AMERICAN CAR INDUSTRY GREAT AGAIN... But alas ....all of this is just a pipe dream unfortunately Ford CEO Jim Harley it's not like GM's Harley Earl of the 1950s (we're talking about the wrong Harley here) he's going to play it safe he's afraid of losing market share he's afraid of perhaps making bad corporate decisions or mistakes he's afraid of losing his stock share for Ford and most importantly of all he's afraid of losing his job he's going to continue to kick the can of conformity if SUVs and crossovers instead of giving the American consumers what they really truly want at least some of them a really cool sedan or coupe that they're going to like and love.😢
I couldn't have said it better myself.
About Time! AND,....Please don't "electrify" it!
They must have a lot of left over parts on their shelves. Hopefully it will look better now before it faded out
Reminds me of a Chrysler 300
Awesome lincoln
I love lincoln continental, and want to see continental hybrid.
BEAUTIFUL...BUT IM SURE THE PRICE WILL BE RIDICULOUS.
they should do a retro design of the 78 Lincoln Mark V.....
Sadly my 2017 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid will probably be the last Ford product that I bought. My son wanted a sedan and of course Ford and Lincoln did not offer a sedan. My son wound up gettign a 2020 Hyundai Sonata Limited and I am really impressed with all the technology that the Sonata has. My Lincoln is getting up in mieage and sadly I am not even considering Lincoln at all, I am not into SUV's. Looks like I might go with Lexus
How about a Taurus or Fusion sport? I still can't afford a truck.
Maybe they'll bring back the crown vic
Not everyone wants an SUV. In the SW, TX and South an SUV isn't needed. I went back to a sedan after 3 trucks and I prefer a sedan now. It is so much more fun to drive. At some point I will upgrade to a new luxury sedan and I would for sure put Lincoln on my short list with Toyota & Lexus. Reliability needs to be improved and it would need to be a hybrid. I have experience with EV's and they just aren't where I need them (hot climates drain the battery and for weekend travels rural charging stations are rare and travelling in the mountains also drains the batteries). My friends tell me there Teslas lose 60% of their range when temperatures are well over 100 degrees...which it is most of the summer in the SW.
i'm confused, don't they already have Continental that was released a few years back?
What new tech is the Continental gonna have?
Ford should make a right hand drive and sell the Lincoln range in Australia We are treated as a backwater when it comes to these luxury models.
Buy a Lexus which a MUCH better car.
is right hand drive better than left ?
@@psychiatry-is-eugenics I can't say, but we followed the UK road system. I wish we had changed over at some point because a lot more cars could be available here. A good time might have been in 1966 when we switched to a local dollar instead of a UK based currency system. Interestingly the Japanese are RHD as well.
@@matt89108 My local mechanic says the same. I always bought Australian cars not because they were necessarily better quality wise but rather made for the local conditions and requirements. I also found their general ergonomics better. I drove a Lexus that was very upmarket but FWD and I hated that. All our Australian larger cars (with the exception of Toyota and its Aurion/Camry) were RWD.

I have been brought up a Ford Baby and I am now 65 years old. My dad worked for Ford all my life. You are killing us by taking away the sedans. We were never allowed to buy anything but Fords. Hopefully (like some of the Lincoln SUV's) it is not assembled and made in China.
The automotive side of the big 3 made a huge mistake 3 years ago getting rid of the car side of the business. I said it was a mistake 3 years ago. The Continental that is being pushed for 2023/2024 is the one everyone is seeing. It’s said to be wowing the industry. I’m not sure why. I mentioned this in a previous post. This Continental is the same one from 2020. I know because I looked at it. It’s seriously overpriced. I don’t recall the base price. I recall the price being around $65K to $100K for the Special Edition with the Suicide Door’s as they were called. They have massaging seats for Driver & Passenger. Some included Panoramic Moonroof. The problem was is it’s way overpriced. It already has all the bells & whistle options that this person said it didn’t have. They definitely had them. Also, the Continental replaced the MKS Lincoln model. Lincoln’s only focus was to be on their SUV, Pickup, Mustang & the Van Line Lineup. I have a 2018 Lincoln MKZ AWD Reserve. It has 1 huge major flaw & that is the battery already had to be replaced. It’s only too last for 3 year’s. It’s being blamed on the security system is struggling to keep up with the cars battery. If they would have replaced the battery when I asked them to it wouldn’t be an issue.
I may be a buyer next year if it lives up to the hype. I miss having a large comfortable, eat up the miles luxury sedan. My two only other choices were Mercedes and the new Genesis. I wait with baited breath.
We don't have to change they do.
Hopefully they make a car without electrical, transmission and engine that doesn’t consistently breakdown. That’s there problem.
I have a feeling, that they did not shock anyone or come up with anything too special. It is good that they did bring it back, cos there are people who don't like SUV segment alone.
It’s a shock that Ford is still going…….
The malaise era of automobiles now refers to the late 70s and early 80s. We need a synonym for malaise to refer to this era of non-descriptive SUVs.
Lincoln always was a luxury vehicle. Not every one wants or needs an SUV or CUV. So Lincoln will bring out a hybrid or total electric vehicle that average people will never be able to afford. Great idea yet the price will be in the stratosphere.
