Amazing Mercedes Sprinter Minibus Campervan Conversion Time Lapse 9 Month Full Build
This video shows a complete time lapse of a conversion of a Mercedes Sprinter Treka minibus from a minibus in to a luxury campervan / motorhome. The conversion of the Sprinter minibus took over 12 months of weekend work to complete to the standard you see at the end of the video. The campervan conversion consisted of stripping the minibus down to the bare base chassis, protecting the chassis and rebuilding the camper van from the ground up. High end appliances and electrics have been installed throughout the conversion. To see the conversion and each job in greater detail, visit my channel where the conversion is uploaded by individual jobs. I hope you enjoy and please leave a comment on your thoughts of the campervan / motorhome conversion.

Amazing conversion. I watched this video in May 2023 and I have to admit that the MB Sprinter conversion still works great. Beautiful jpb.
Even though the video has been speeded up I can still see the quality of work that was put into creating a mobile home. 👍🙏
I love that you used lightweight materials for your build. Makes sense to keep the weight down to keep your mileage up.
yup that was the plan
Lightweight materials??... it's all wood, cabinetry, bulkheads, furniture, bed etc... how is that light weight. Don't get me wrong, I love the build, but I wouldn't say it was done with lightweight materials.
Found this channel by chance. What an amazing transformation. Loved every bit of the video from start to finish, the attention to detail from the beginning, stripping it down to the bare bones to get to the metalwork underneath to treat it with Waxoyl was impressive. I shall look forward to the rest of your videos.
Thanks for the kinds remarks
Looks like he has a postal van next
That Sir was impressive.
Thanks
This was a great video. I'm building out the same bus and I wish I had this a year ago as I had NO idea what I was doing haha. Thanks for video taping and sharing.
Greetings to you from Iraq, you are a genius and an artist The whole 113 minutes I was enjoying your art

Ok...I've decided...I will allow you to do MY conversion. :) Very nice!
Deal!
Super amazing build!!
Thank you
I like the sic track pant ensemble
That is a very cool transportation, Love It❤❤❤❤
Thank you
Silicone is not the way to seal electrical cable to a junction box. Use weatherproof outdoor box with gland packing fittings.
Nice work!
Thanks
Amazing ❤❤❤
thanks
Amazing job mate 👏 👌 👍 😊
Thank you 👍
Look's real good 👍

Very nice!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
I want this build

What kind of paint did you use for black out on windows?
😵😵😵😱😱😱😱 amazing 👏👏👏😍😍😍
Amazing ❤❤❤❤
Thanks
Hi, is very nice the conversion , can u tell me what size of solar panels I need , I don't know nothing about it and how much their cost, thank you
Al ver cómo está de nueva o poco uso la máquina me dieron ganas de meter mis manos también.
God’s jobs Superrrrrrrrrrr👏👏👏
Very nice build!
I think composites are far better to use on floor and walls and ceiling no dry rot when water leaks in from all the holes
What a fantastic build. Lot of hard work put in there. But absolutely beautiful. Fantastic video.
Thank you very much
Watched this time lapse multiple times now, i bought a iveco daily minibus about the same size as this, with exactly the same layout and chassis build, Who did you use for water tanks/storage ? Very inspiring video, alot of hard work wejt into this so hats off to you pal 👍👍
I bought almost everything from eBay sellers online, no specific companies, just what I found on eBay at a good price
The sub floor was not installed across the floor joist correctly should be ran perpendicular not parallel
Membrane on the floor between the insulation and floor and or. Subfloor
Brilliant job, but why use silicon to stick the peel and stick stone tiles?
they weren't peel and stick tiles, they were proper ceramic kitchen tiles that needed real grouting but silicone offers more flexibility for when on the move
Great job but I just have a question for people in general... I'm not necessarily picking on this build. When has it ever been comfortable to have a great big split down the middle of your bed? People build these convertible couches and are so proud of themselves when they flop them down - but then they end up with splits everywhere the cushions come together. It never fails that one person either falls into the pit or your hip lands in it- There is no way to get comfortable on these things. Usually the split isn't even in the middle on the longer couches, it's about a third of the way over which makes it even rougher to sleep for two people. At least in the middle you each get half but these things are ridiculous. In order to be comfortable you absolutely have to have a fairly thick mattress topper and where are you supposed to store that monster?
No, not a Builder but, I saw in one Van where the Bed (Mattress) was stored Elevated near the ceiling, and mechanically lowered at night on the converted couch space: the converted couch was like a Box Spring: Impressive! It was the only one I'd seen built in that particular manner! MORE IMPRESSIVE I COULD DROP SOME KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THIS!!🤣🤣🤣 deb in MattressVille, SC⛱️ 08/08/2023🏝 * I'm in awe of people who can build these Vans: Beautiful and Talented!😊*
I like the lift up bed idea, although guess it won't be quite that easy with a mattress on 🤔
It is easy, that’s what the ottoman hinges are for, taking the weight & strain out of lifting the bed.
@@TheCampervanBuilder Well that's a jolly good idea, one I may steal, lol. I had issues with my mattress getting damp when I just put holes in the ply it laid on, so changed to slats. Have you found that at all?
Hi just a thought do you still have any of the seat rail fasteners available?
no this was converted a couple of years ago now
How much did cost the whole project in the end?
More than 6 dollars.
@@InchFab add 4 zeros, that would be more like it.
1 billion dollar
No membrane will cause issues later on with water intrusion and condensation and mold
I think you are from UK if so what paper work you did extra for registering the camper.????
I didn't, you don't have to reregister as a camper as long as its insured as one
Thanks. Tell me about the engine please. Is it good for campervan?. I am asking because this one is designed to be a shuttle bus.
It’s a standard sprinter engine, no difference
This is astonishing. How do you know what the hell to do and how to do it? And then building … like… how the hell ? Jeez
Once you've built a few vans out, you get to know the process and what needs doing in what order
Ok...I've made my decision...I will allow you to do MY conversion. :) Very nice.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ very beautiful 0f curse
What happens when the window breaks? You have to tear up your walls to replace?😮
why would the window break, the vehicle is already nearly 20 years old with the original windows, only vandalism would cause a window to break and you'd run in to the same problem with a lot of conversion who put items in front of a window, top tip, don't break your windows
As a former bus driver, I was driving this bus for a long time and witnessed a lot of broken windows on sides because the rocks and stuff is pushed this direct with aerodynamic drag. But overall nice build 😊.
👍👍👍
Why would you not use a table saw for the sheets of ply on the sub floor?
Because I don't have one
Have you fitted a carbon monoxide alarm .... also will there be a follow up video to test the integrity of the van...i would expect you to find faults .
This was sold to make way for more projects a while ago but I know it is still going strong to this day
Perpendicular sheeting g is the standard it creates a diaphragm for rigidity locks everything in the way he did it is going to have problems
The flooring is secured to the chassis so will not cause any problems at all
What was the name of the beat at the end screen of the video?
It’s all KZhead free music, not sure what is what though
@@TheCampervanBuilder aah dang, thats ok appreciate the help though
Why does the floor on a mini bus have to come out before installing the subfloor?
How are you supposed to install and insulate a sub floor without removing the top layer?
Wow alot of work alot of money very impressive I like the way you covered the windows I've never seen that in a build before but very creative. I thought you were going to partition the driver and passenger section from the living space for privacy at one stage but you prefer the open living look. Also i.likef the way you fitted the floor walls and ceiling with manageable cut out sections for each area very simple and systematic rather then bigger sections to cover as much as possible. I have considered vans then commuters then coasters but I think the Mercedes mini bus ike yours is the way to go. You need the width without the length of a full size bus as commuters and coasters are 3 seats across. But yours is 4 seats you need that extra space to walk down the isle and it gives you more design and better size options. Just a question what was the purpose of the red bottle attached under the chassis? .
Thanks, the red tank is an LPG propane gas tank for the water heater and kitchen gas hob
@@TheCampervanBuilder oh nice very well planned and thought out design. Im glad you removed the floor it was eye opening to see the chassis. Ideally I wish there was a cost effective simple EV kit to covert vehicles to AWD. Thats what camper vehicles need besides a reliable power source to power there appliance's and a better water system. Thank you for the reply.
Was it fully insulated? Why take it all apart rather than just build over it?
it wasn't fully insulated, the roof had crappy fibreglass insulation and the floor had none, the only original insulation was under the windows
I wish he would speak to his audience to let us know his thoughts and ideas.
This build is also available to watch on parts and that’s where I speak and describe what I’m doing, this is just purely a time lapse
Dove c'è gusto non c'è perdenza
How long did this take you?
6-8 months of weekend work
Tolerating neighbours you got there lol
Two 15 second non skippable ads every three or four minutes…youtube used to be great 😢
its only going to get worse as KZhead is taking away creators ability to control adverts very soon
KZhead has also made some other changes recently, maybe not for everyone yet, but it'll be coming to everyone soon. I always watch at least 30 seconds of the ads, because I was told that creators only get paid if you watch 30 seconds of the ad, and some ads are hours long. However, if you skipped the first ad, it wouldn't show the second ad. Now, if you skip the first ad, it goes to the second ad. Apparently, this hasn't happened for everyone yet, but it's coming to everyone soon. KZhead is removing and demonitizing creators left and right, especially some big channels, and those creators are going to other sites, like Rumble. KZhead is getting worse and worse.
Was this in England
Yes it was
Hi I have the same bus for sale (vw) are you interested? Let me know and I can send you details thank you
Don't paint your windows like this.. car glass use too have separated dots on the dark sides before going full black to avoid breaking the windows because drastic temperature changes
Straight over the floor with 25mm kingspan!... No way would I cut that floor out, far too much work!.. Congrats though nice van
You loose a lot of head height if going the way you mention, I gain head height doing it my way
Nice build but very questionable style, there's to much textures and different patterns... Doesn't really go well but great video, maybe something more uniform next time, like white and wood or just like I said, less patterns more cohesiveness.
Check my channel as I've already done another of these minibuses just like you describe, white wood paneling and brighter plain colours
What was the finished weight of the van?
I never got it weighed so unsure
My bad they sat below sorry
Jeder macht es anders Hauptsache es passt
16 ads is a bit much.
I don't control how many ads are served, thats down to youtube
@@TheCampervanBuilder that sucks.
@@TheCampervanBuilder not true at all and you know it
Ok indretning, men farvevalg og matrialer, ligner noget der er løgn
Constructive criticism the music 🎶 isn't encouraging to continue watching, sorry 😔
I had to replace the original music due to constant fraudulent copyright claims
wh6 are u wearing ear muff protection there's no loud dcbs 😂
this is a time lapse so there will have been something loud at some point, probably the impact driver, regardless of what it was, protecting your hearing is no laughing matter
Где порядок в ролике. Всё вразнобой. Залепа.

European girls are happy to live anywhere, even if it is a hut or a van, but there are many who do not want to live with their boyfriend except in a large house and expensive rent, and food is always bought from outside, nor cooking at home, and there is no saving money, ever, the money that enters their pockets. They go to eat outside the house and other things, and then they spend all their money, and the quarrels begin. This is the case with my son and his Samoan girlfriend. About your job God bless you God job ❤❤❤❤❤❤
What a disgusting childish pathetic comment.

sorry but i don't like this project. Ergonomic, materials, colors. Big job was made, but ....
Eres muy chapucero, nada hiciste bien, todo de cualquier manera, muy mal.
