  • Looks like you're growing elephant ear tubers. If so, all parts of the plant are poisonous while raw, but once cooked the tubers are edible

    • Elephant ears belong on elephants. They have no business being on a plant. They're called Taro.

    • Elephant ear plants grow wild here in Florida. The leaves look like taro leaves. Raw taro tubers are also poisonous and must be cooked.

    • I am growing six different varieties in my garden. I am retired now, been growing taro since I was a kid. I can tell you with certainty that the ones that he planted are not the same as those he hatvested. All I am saying is, it's kinda silly naming a plant after animal anatomy. What's next, elephant's tail? Then what? 😅
