  • Growing up a young tyke in Trinidad & Tobago in the '70s, we listened to more Reggae and "Rockers" back then than any other genre of music. Bob Marley was, by far, our biggest inspiration. My friends and I, we would sit down and play his records all day and have in-depth discussions (as in-depth as our immature minds would allow) about the meaning of all of his songs. He and that band together was the greatest thing to have come out of the Caribbean and still is. They played some really awesome music. The news of his death is an experience I will never, ever forget...or stop mourning. I really miss Bob. The world misses Bob.

Thinking all is beautiful in that region, it was the Messenger that actually taught me about the struggles through his music. Kinda reminded me of the Partition in India when the British vacated.

  • The actor was so convincing that it was actually a shock to see the real Bob Marley in footage at the end. I'd seen Stand Up the stage show in London and appreciated that this was a different angle. I gasped at the film's scenes of Bob and entourage jogging in London, I'd only just missed them in the late 70s and in the very early 80s, enjoyed D&B concerts in the bandstand of the very park where Bob had played football

I was sad how the movie ended so abruptly. And of course the move is called One Love, they should have ended the movie with the one love film clip in full. It was a glimpse of it. My mom has his albums, a compilation of Bob's greatest hits. to think that one man can change the world through his music, but more importantly his faith. he wasn't the perfect man, nor was he pursuing perfection. all he ever wanted was peace, love, unity and justice. decades later after his passing, and his music still endures. truly an incredible human being, and it was such a joy seeing his story being brought to the big screen. yes the movie has its flaws, but just like Bob's music, it will last forever. • A big fan at the time, purchasing his vinyls and as we said back then "listen to Bob Marley". Biggest disappointment was contemplating seeing him Live but never happened.. he left before. Biggest "achievement" infusing both my boys with his message and having them sing No woman No cry sitting in the back of my car. Mind you they were about 11 and 8 since then they turned 30 and 33.The elder one kept a impressive taste for Ragga, Dub and Reggae. Bless Nesta for being who I consider as the last prophet on Earth. And Yes I'm a boomer :-P

  • My husband and I saw the Bob Marley "One Love" movie last week. We thought it was very well presented and captured the essence of Bob Marley. The actor chosen to play the lead role did an excellent job of bringing Bob's character to life on the big screen. The actor who portrayed Rita Marley was phenomenal. I would recommend going to see this movie in the theater. I would go see it again, if I could.

  • I really loved the movie. I already knew the real stories about him. So I caught the parts they got wrong. But honestly the movie focused on his positive message. It was a good idea not to let imperfections cloud the good things. This is a good biopic. And I’m glad they didn’t overdramatize things.

  • As a big fan that I was of Bob Marley growing up, I was a little disappointed that the movie did not speak much about his past when he was part of the Wailers with Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer. That is the only real critic I can make about the movie since it only focused on his last 6 years. Unfortunately many people do not know about Peter Tosh and he wrote a lot of bob’s biggest hits like 400 years and Get up Stand Up. The movie should have at least dedicated 10 minutes to give more context on his origins besides that it is a heartfelt movie and the actor literally was bob his performance was on point. RIP Bob, Peter and bunny.

  • I think that if we had more people who felt like Bob Marley did, we would be living in a better world. We need more people like him to try and get the message across the world that we are all equal we are all god’s children ( whatever name you call him ) and that is what we need to get through our heads and life. Treat people with respect and compassion as you wish to be treated yourself.

Then more seasons about Bob's lagacies, i.e., his sons under Rita's guidance and influences on other genre, culture etc

  • Watched the movie last night…sadly, I was disappointed this story of the music man & child of God, left so many details out. Robert Nesta Marley deserved more of his quest for peace and love to be told, and I wish the story had been up until his death from widespread cancer. I’m white, 65 years of age, and have shook my tail off to this mans music since the late ‘70’s.💃When I blast his music, dance and sing his songs, so do the neighbors. Please always remember one love, one race, the human race. We are ALL Gods children and sit together at the same table. Show grace and compassion to those in your life, play his music loud, and let the story of your life, fulfill the book in a way that makes your life joyful, and your family proud. ❤️🙏❤️

I'm in 10th grade now and was so extremely excited to see the movie when it came out, I sat down in the theater only a few days ago and watched his story. My respect for Bob Marley went up tenfold, it's depressing how little the people in my generation know about this man.. An activist, a musician, a peace-fighter and a God-lover. I've never been more proud to be a Bob Marley fan. 🩷🩷
