GeoguessrWizard plays Sporcle - Major UK cities / towns ranked
This is a good one. The list featured in this video is hiding the names of the 134 most populated cities and towns in the UK and Ireland. I have to name them all, or at least as many as i can in 14 minutes, with only the populations to give me a clue.

“What’s that shithole I cycled through “ 😂😂
“What was that Sh*t-hole I cycled through... Folkestone!!” That’s about right!
3:46 "what’s the huge city I’ve missed out there“ Me: Bristol "Bristol, thank you" WHAT
same happened to me lol
The 'extra cities' are near misses. So sometimes in a quiz when you are close they add them just for fun but they don't count towards the 134 you need. Love these quizzes. I always try them myself first and then watch you struggle :) As a non-UKer I only got 35, which I'm still very proud of.
Did you get Harlow 😂
I didn't, most small towns were due to my football knowledge and I don't know a team from Harlow.
@@spacebar1111 yeah, thats fair enough, the only proper team we have is Harlow town anyways
I got 35, and I’m British!
Hello and welcome to a guy saying town names for over 17 minutes. Time to leave a rare like.
Galway(“Gall-way”) is on the west coast of Ireland and Tallaght(“Ta-la”) is a suburb of Dublin.
The only thing better than English town names is you pronouncing them. I love it.
"I need to go down South in order to get them" "Fleetwood".
Too bad the city names are barely readable, even in 1080p. Maybe zoom In the webpage next time?
Pretty unavoidable unfortunately. Zoomed in as much as i could without losing anything.
What screen recording software do you use?
7:29 I was literally screaming Stoke 😂😂
You should stream mate. I like your content.
He does seem like he would be a good streamer
Was thinking it could be fun trial to do some rounds where the chat helps out if the Wizard is stumped.
JB Townsend live steam him playing challenges on geoguesser
Bloody great effort mate, I tried it before watching this and got 57 - including missing several of the places I live near!
Out of all the rat tips in Britain, Keighley came to your mind! XD good video
Love your stuff man. You're one of the 3 channels of which I instantly like the video without watching it. I did have trouble reading the names like they said before, maybe you can find a way around that somehow. Anyways, keep it up!
You did a good job. Suprised you didn't get Watford and stoke! You should do more of these
Love the bradistan comment lol, and Bradford has more people then what it says on there
Telford ain't that bad it has a nice service station atleast. I'm also surprised that when you said shithole you didn't think of Luton staight away.
Hey man we only have a few people get stabbed in the nice areas
Darkside Luton’s a shithole lets be honest ( marsh farm )
good content mate. have a good day
I always get excited when someone mentions Rochester
You missed England...
just shut up thats one and a half year dead
@@squirrel7000 same with your grammar
@@euanwhite2257 I'm pretty sure that sentences begin with a capital letter and end in some form of punctuation, such as a full stop or exclamation mark.
@@squirrel7000 it actually doesnt need a capital letter because his name is the start of the sentence......
this is interesting having lived in massachusetts my whole life, i now see where we got all our names from
Boston Massachusetts is named after Boston in the UK too
I love the way he said Dudley, I have uncle from there and that’s how he says it
I just watched this because I wondered if my town was gonna be here. It was. I’m happy.
I'm amazed that some places local to me are on this list. Didn't think they'd be that big.
init same
i'm soo glad you knew my hometown of redditch haha, i knew that was going to be on there :D
reddit
When you were talking about shitholes I thought, stoke, Newcastle-under-Lyme and Crewe would come to mind straight away
Tallaght is a suburb of Dublin alright.
I didn’t realise Maidstone had over 100,000 people living there, and I live there!
I was absolutely shouting at you mate
I live in worthing and it was eating me up inside that you forgot it :P
Suggestion for the next Sporcle quiz: Name the .. biggest cities in Madagascar by writing any two (maybe three, dunno) subsequent letters of the name
The place you was thinking of in Kent is ashford which is big and I thought would be on the list
a lot of suburbs and towns in australia are named after places in england so i was waiting for Ipswich cos I thought it was a place in the uk 😂
Certainly is, and it's a proper shit hole !
ザッくんS. It is and it's shit
Chance S Wanker 😂😂😂
@@romantalamo8266 its true bro hahaha
just a quick tip, you can press CTRL + Backspace to delete entire words at once
You were typing Lisburn where I live which is a a city but then stopped :( coulda gotten 97 idk lol .
So I just got to the end of the video and I was intrigued to see what he missed out then I see Bracknell and I was amazed like I live there I was so happy 😂
It’s a shithole
"I can only think that these are sort of down south" B A T L E Y
"That's massive......and it's a shithole" LMAO
6:55-7:06 I was having a right old giggle 😂😂
Ahaha, you tried the Town I live in (Christchurch) but it wasn't big enough ;c
The way you pronounced Keighley made me die inside
Knew Bristol would be the last big city you got by a mile. It's because the footy team's never been in the prem.
City were in the First Divison 1906-11 and 76-80, and Rovers' best is the Second Division (or first post 92) 1953-62, 74-81, 90-93. Not saying you're wrong, just adding more detail
Yeah, 80 was a long time ago. Before the Premier League of course. As to Rovers - well, One Team In Bristol is just standard. :oP
One team in Bristol :)
Yes OTIB Up the City!
I live in Bracknell and Its between Reading, Slough and London. It was built around the same time as Milton Keynes. To be honest, it's a bit dodgy considering it's a 15 minute drive from Windsor.
Adam Horsfield it’s close to slough though that place is kinda dodgy
Couple good ones: Capital cities of the world Countries of the world w/o a map
Watching this thinking lincoln won’t be on here always forget how big it is yet it feels so small
I can see that you manually zoomed in on the footage. You should [CTRL +] to increase the size in your browser so no quality is lost when you record it.
But then the list might not all fit on the screen.
That may be true, but the quality would still benefit from the resolution.
Very good
Half of these are places in Canada too 😂 More than I expected
Was screaming Blackburn not from there but thought of it straight away for some reason and you never said it 😂😭
Oh lord the way he pronounced tallaght and galway😂
Weston super Mare not that populated? At one point for a VERY SHORT time mind (like 1970's or 80's) it was one of the fastest growing towns in the UK. Obviously growth has slowed, but it still grows in population today. Houses are still being built here. In fact it has been recognised that there has been too many houses being built here than there are jobs made available for the last 30 years!! Why else then in the morning rush hour it used to take over an hour just to leave town (the M5 Motorway) filled with commuters travelling to mostly Bristol for work. Half hour trains between Weston and Bristol are almost always over crowded. Its standing room on the Buses despite an every 20 minute Weston to Bristol service. The 2011 census places the population of 76,143 (According to Wikipedia) But the amount of houses built since 2011, I'd estimate it now to be at least 90,000, but however we shall see when the 2021 census is revealed in 2022. I am very interested in how towns grow, so if alive in 3 years I will be eagerly awaiting this result!. (Because I love playing city building games and always strive to get a maximum population) Although I will say one thing. Its true that the town doesnt look that big despite having such a population. Its bigger than it looks in population terms. Im old enough to remember how Weston super Mare was before the dual carriageway relief road was built in 1997!! - To travel the 4 miles from M5 Motorway to the seafront was bumper to bumper and would take you at least an hour! And that wasnt even in rush hour, I cant fathom how bad rush hour was pre-dual carriageway
You should have gone through alphabetically! The region tactic kept bringing you back to Manchester & Essex haha
Still missed my hometown in Essex, so he was kinda right to come back
Tallaght is around the dublin area and it is pronounced ta-la, the ght is silent in it
“Londonderry” god that word makes me cringe so much. It’s just “Derry” 😩
Yeah he mispelled it I think
Can you maybe link the Quizzes you play in the video-description? :-)
He does At the bottom
I’m from Worthing and I was hoping you would get it but you missed it out
how is northwich in cheshire not on there, population was 80,000 + about ten years ago and probably over 100,000 now its growing every week
Big up Warrington
M8 you gotta do a 10 second no moving scrolling or zooming GeoGuessr who agrees???
Nice *:)*
Where's winchester too? ahead of a lot of the smaller towns with 116k population
The settlement of Winchester is only about 40k
I see
Hell yeah barrow in Furness
Everytime he casually calls somewhere a shithole it makes me laugh
I got 76 whilst being from ireland, which is solid, considering 95% were in Britain. Didn't even get Tallaght though, which is embarassing.
“What Was That Shithole I Cycled Through?... FOLKESTONE!!”
Batley is most certainly not down south. Its a prime northern rough hole
BRAINTREE!!! That can’t be real!!
KittyMajestic92 Yes it's a small town in Essex near Colchester
Yeah it's proper shite. (Someone from Colchester)
@@George-li1yv I’m from Braintree and I couldn’t agree more
6:57 omg hahah
Shout out for Bootle yess
I was so confused when he knew Cirencester lol
Went from Luton to Bradford 🤔 there’s a link😂
@Fair Criticism pahahahahahahhahahahhahahahahaha I'm from there and believe me... it is.
Aylesbury is actually near me
Big up buxton
As if he got Southport I’m live there I had no idea it was even slightly known😂
Nah everyone knows Southport you get more sun than the rest of us
yay my home town of gosport is 11th on the list go me
Barley is in West Yorkshire near Bradford
You mean Batley right?
South Shields is on there? We aren't a city xD
I can't belive he missed Bolton and Blackburn
Bournemouth christchurch and poole are all controlled by the same council (bcp) but christchurch and poole are nowhere as big as bournemouth
1:40 You mispelled Derry I think
Calling Salford "Sall-ford" is unforgivable
Gillingham? It’s pronounced ‘Jillingham’. I’m glad fellow Medway towns Chatham and my hometown Rochester are on here though
I know this video is a year old but as a stokie I will still say I’m bitterly disappointed you forgot about us
"Londonderry" confirmed protestant
Me: *actually from lisburn* How are we a city Me watching this: WTF we’re a city
2:34 WHEYY!!
YESSSS CRAWLEY LADSSSS
Weird, Margate and Rochester didn't come up on mine :/
Gillingham is pronounced with the J sound so it’s really ‘JILLINGHAM’
Though there is a much smaller town in Dorset called Gillingham which is pronounced with a hard 'G'
how was lancaster not in there?
The population of Lancaster is only 52,000+. That's how.
No way Ipswich bigger than Colchester
i’m american but i was literally screaming crewe at my screw lmao
As a person from Scarborough, please don't put Scarborough and Scunthorpe together...
Me waiting for Warrington
I live in Atherton, it's right next to Bolton and there's no way in hell there's 70,000 living here... Bit confusing
It probably has the whole surrounding area included in it's population. It's the same with Eastleigh
I'm from Inverness. Capital of the Highlands with over 70,000 people and we're not on this list? ok
Daz R6 neither is Stirling or Perth, yet they put paisley and East Kilbride on the list? They aren’t even cities.
I was in no way expecting you to know Reading, let alone it be on the list and that high up wtf
Everyone knows Reading because of the festival
@@jolien391 you'll be surprised how many people don't know where it is though. Can't believe my comment is being responded to 8 months later 😂
Prestatyn... that’s a village down the road from me
Wales innit? proper shite aint it
Ashford
Cumbria?
