  • When an MMA fighter takes on a Muay Thai legend that's already one of the most decorated kickboxers of his time, the MMA fighter is not supposed to win. How did he almost do it? We explore in this historic feature. Hello everyone. I am coming out with a new book called “Legendary Striking.” I believe this ebook is the heart and soul of all the work I’ve done thus far. I am giving away a free preview that includes 60 pages of content. I hope you will enjoy this preview of my upcoming book as much as you’ve enjoyed my videos. It would mean a lot to me if you went and checked out the page: www.LegendaryStriking.com and give the preview a reading chance.

    • First, thanks as always for the great content! But would you really say buakaw dominated masato? he did beat him but it wasnt really a domination was it? The second match even went to masato i thought. Masato is probably my favorite retired fighter (i love all the k1 guys from that era, i refer to it as the golden age of k1, the k1 world max from 2k2 to 2k9) but mostly due to his redemtion vs buakaw in their second match, and his masterful defeat of andy souwer in their final bout. this fight was crazy though! the louder announcer was super annoying, the quiet guy had actual substance to what he was saying where as the other fella just kept spouting out stupid catch phrases and saying stuff that didnt make sense lol.

    • @@8limbedwarriornakmuay175 and the second match? and i guess that means sato absolutely humiliated buakaw then right? because a ko is a lot harder to get than a point win like buakaw got on masato (1st match, second match like an absolute moron, buakaw tried to box masato, and masatos boxing skills make buakaw look like a casual)

      @7dayspking@7dayspking4 жыл бұрын
    • @@7dayspkingI Know this is late but just seeing this vid... "Nearly" only counts when throwing hand grenades. The backward movement of his head put the punch at maximum distance taking most of the energy out of it. Which is why he got up so fast and smiled, he wasn't hurt at all. Big looping punches like that look good but rarely hurt when the defendant is moving out of range. The MMA fighting throw his whole arsenal at him in that first round and he just absorbed it, the later rounds were all his. Just look at the poor guys expression in the end as he is hanging onto the ropes, he's dead tired and glad he didn't get knocked out.

    • @@nriqueog It's like you didn't read my comment. Everyone thinks Buakaw has this superhuman chin. I was pointing out that Buakaw was actually avoiding getting hit with all of those punches. All of the solid punches that hit Buakaw completely disrupted him and left him desperately on the defensive and off balance. He didn't take those punches well whether he 'took everything off them' or not, he looked like a baby deer trying to walk after he was hit with them. Clearly Buakaw can be hurt, he does not have an invincible chin.

    • This really doesn’t make Muay Thai look good. I mean this guy is one of the greatest ever and was getting lit up bad and almost finished in the first round. If this mma guy was a better boxer he would have knocked him out. To me this just proves that if you take a guy with a solid boxing skills and fundamentals, give him a year or two to learn Muay Thai and kickboxing fundamentals and dealing with other strikes he would easily beat someone doing the opposite. Boxing is the best striking foundation by far and mma proves it as most of the best fighters are boxing centric in their striking and boxing even compliments grappling better than muay thai

At the end, Buakaw showed a lot of respect for the guy, by congratulating his corner and staying there so long, he knew this fight was 1 of a kind. • Buakaw is a prodigy in reading his opponents and adjusting his style to them, the only option is beating him fast or with a lucky well landed shot. His win chances go up every second

    @Kiivenn@Kiivenn3 жыл бұрын
    • How did this prodigy in reading opponents fail to read a simple feint not once but twice? Both times knocking him to the ground. If this was an MMA match and not a Thai match, the MMA fighter would have just pummelled him senseless while he's already incapacitated from his knockdowns until the ref declared him the winner. This one-eyed no name fighter utterly destroyed this Muaythai legend and nobody sees it. Crazy

    • Muay thai's kicked and hit by knees is hard painful for your internal. So not only offensive but defensive should understand. In fighting with no weapons, your body is weapon. Muay Thai understand body movement such as how to kick that not only throw your leg but using hip like your swing golf.
