James Osterhout , The craftsmanship of the structure and foundation is something to be respected. I noticed that the addition was newer and didnt last. It reminds me of the barn raising in the movie Kingpin for some strange reason 😄. Team work is everything. Much respect sir. 👍

WOW!....Just...Freakin...WOW! Best video everrrrr!!! This guy is a demo/clean-up genius...seems so young to be so knowledgeable and good at what he does. Should have his own show on TV. PS...great job on the filming (and editing) with the drones...this video is top quality from start to finish.
Your ability to think critically and solve complex problems is truly impressive.
Your work ethic and dedication are truly admirable.

How about the drone shots while Andrew was dismantling the barn? I thought he had some crazy clever follow-me program on his Mavic, but we saw a lad with a white top operating it. That was outstanding footage. Really professional videography.
Still learning as he goes. Still admitting his mistakes and including them in the film. Andrew is great to watch. A valuable person.
Yep that section when he did force the track on the skid-steer with a chain ouch.. in hurry to finish faster it did some damage & shorten the track life..

It just dawned on me today how damn therapeutic watching this is. I kind of needed this after the week I have had sitting in an office chair all week.
Sounds like you need a better job
Heck yes.
If you're ever planning on keeping a structure always make sure the roof is in good shape. Doesn't take long for It 2 rot away once the roof falls in disrepair. Always good to see an old barn being saved they are getting farther and in between...
I would have pulled down the barn using straps and the skid steer. Just like pulling trees, could bring it down in a morning. In fact, cut out the haunchings and you could collapse the sucker in one pull. That would be good to see. Maybe next video!
You're one of the most reliable and trustworthy people I know.
Nice to see these old chestnut timber barns still around! Andrew you’re amazing!
Levi is getting up there... It's been a while and he looks like he's in a little pain.. still has a great attitude

What a thrill to watch. Andrew, you are a master.
Good to see Levi is still able to make the “lab inspection” trips with you. At 78 years old, I can appreciate his slow movement and frequent rest stops. I enjoyed today’s video of the clean up around and demolition of the old barn. I’m sure there is a lot of history in that structure.

There’s a huge difference between getting it done, and getting it done the right way. No way I would trust the structural integrity of the rest of this barn after demoing the side like that. That being said, though I love watching this guy screw shit up, I would never have him work on my properties
You have a unique ability to balance professionalism with a personal touch.
To see the people that are going to preserve the OLD barn and rebuild it and it can still be used is awesome, and great 3 day video, and then you top it all off, with Sir Levi out to slowly inspect Dad's work, was great! Cody making friends with the horses was sweet and funny as well, best part beside Sir Levi, was you backing up on top of some of the debris and having your drone follow you as if to say, " dad, don't leave me here".. Andrew is a one man wrecking machine!, Andrew: "and while I was here, the customer wanted me to remove some tress too close to the house" then goes to dig up the roots, pull them down, and cart them off:-) Onto the next job!
Thanks for keeping this 81 year old lady entertained, love watching you😊😊😊😊
You’re welcome
SO glad the owners are fixing that barn! Now Andrew can add timber framing, hand-cut beams, mortise and tenon joints, oak pegs, etc. to his knowledge base and learn when to SAVE barns! It would be great to see the restoration of this barn in progress.
I was trying to come up with a date for the original barn, it's a Dutch barn design, likely from the New Netherlands Colony, so that makes it after 1620 and maybe as late as 1690. That's a really old barn, the American Revolution would have been 100 years in the future. So at least 320 years old, probably older.
Your ability to see the bigger picture and think strategically is truly impressive.
Andrew....your drone skills are getting VERY pro level!
