Sum up Haney vs Garcia in ONE word 👇
Shock
HOOK!
Shook

Kids
Dont wanna hear about Haney not being at 100% because of the weight. He looked great against Regis Prograis making 140 but when Ryan beats him, he doesnt look right. 😂😂 Shut up. No excuses. Ryan beat him. Give him his credit.
It's no excuse BUT different fight different weight cut therefore he may have been suffering more
@@FrankTavernThat would be a valid point if this wasn't his only 2nd fight at the weight.
@@User-km4wkHaney could've been significantly better with 3lbs more to play with and Ryan could've been significantly worse with 3lbs less. The point is, it was an unfair advantage - one you'd still expect Haney to get past to be fair. Maybe it was underestimated.
No excuses except Garcia didn't make weight did he? What's so hard to understand about that?
@alsayedfakhri4597 Haney agreed to step in the ring after all of that so no excuses on his end. He wouldn't have stepped in the ring if he felt otherwise. Losing weight didn't lose him the fight. Lack of power and unable to get away from that hook caused him to lose.
I think that $1.5m "fine" for being overweight went straight to the referee.
I turned this off after 5 mins. No one wants to hear you guys justifying picking Haney I just want a breakdown of the fight. Some fragile egos in that studio today ...
Good riddance. Go watch misfits boxing or other rubbish. Casual.
I would've spent more time talking about the biased or corrupt referee than the failing to make weight.
Especially Andy
Hmm you seem like the fragile one turning off 5 mins into a 90 min podcast?
Absolutely
2 or 3 mins discussing that Garcia failed to make weight would be enough.
What a negative discussion, for one of the greatest fights seen for many a year. Boxing needs fights like these, and I’m hearing nothing but negativity!!!
“One of the greatest fights seen for many a year”?! 🤣🤣 You need to watch more fights mate.
@@SWJ_I guess everyone who was entertained must have imagined it then because you, professor, weren't impressed 👍
@@terryhaircastle5702 Nobody said you’re not allowed to enjoy it, it’s just an exaggeration to say one of the greatest fights for many a year. I’m not the Enjoyment Police, crack on.
Haneys camp was told Garcia won't be making 140 a week out. Haney decided to still make championship weight to not lose title on scales. Don't always blindly believe smoke and mirrors. 500k per pound was always in the contract. When nobody does actual research and regurgitates hearsay is poor work from journalists
What's your source that it was always 500k per pound ?
@@chrishaswell4405 Trust me bro
Andy's comments post fight were poor. He said it wasn't a legitimate victory which is complete nonsense.
If it was a legitimate victory, Ryan would’ve won the world title
They’re frustrated because they got it so wrong
It wasn’t a legitimate victory, one didn’t bother to even try and make the weight. How do you not understand this? I despair at how thick some of you lot are
If it was not a legitimate victory Haney 0 would not have gone... absolute 🔔end
@@KeyboardWarriorNo1 yeah, you’re not a serious person, I’m not gonna waste a second more of my time on you.
Garcia beat up the boy who said no white boy will beat me
Garcia is Mexican, what are you talking about?
He brown
@@jamilnasim3065are you thick ? Yes Ryan ain’t white But you do realise Mexican is a nationality ? You can’t be ethnically Mexican as it’s such a melti no pot …. Mexicans blood is mixed like a smoothie … I seen plenty of white Mexicans when I was there Also look at canelo 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Funny thing is I haven't heard a single Mexican twitter boxing fan say this....cause none of them identify as white. Can tell you're British mate lol

disagree with andy on this one, garcia missing weight was unprofessional but to say it was an advantage against haney who nearly always fights at insane weights compared to the weigh in is an exaggeration (edit i get that making weight for haney would have taken its toll on his body come fight night rehydrated or not but its still not cause to call it an "illegitimate win" for garcia
Andy Clarke absolutely obsessed with the weight thing! Haney been playing games with weight for ages! Get over it
He's always made weight, Garcia didn't even try. Massive difference.
He summed it up. If you don't understand why it was problematic that he missed weight by a significant margin (because he never intended too), there's no helping you.
How more simpler do you need it made before you understand it?? Haney has always made the weight! 🤦♂️ are you understating it?? Ryan didn’t even bother to try and make it. Just stop watching boxing, mate, it’s clearly not for you.
@@alsayedfakhri4597 “there’s no helping you” what an arrogant, condescending comment that was!
@@thesmithsnerd I understand it, I just think there’s bigger problems in boxing. There’s many people more equipped than Andy Clarke who aren’t making a big deal about it

It's the sport, there's rules. Or maybe go watch misfits or bare knuckle?
Showing his character, I feel sorry for his missus.
I would've spent more time talking about the biased or corrupt referee than the failing to make weight. Can't believe they were all pro-Haney after he took a potential career-changing battering.
@@Dabmonger because Haney isn’t an absolute cringe merchant who lives on Twitter and talks conspiracy theories all night
@@TC8787-yq7og I personally am not interested in that in the slightest. I'm only wanting to hear the fight broken down in an appropriate manner. I'm not a fan or hater of either boxer.
Andy is making a bigger deal over the 3lbs than what it is… at the end of the day Haney has had a 10/15lb weight advantage on fight night in most of his fights. Ok yes Ryan didn’t have to cut the extra 3lbs but I can bet that Haney was weighing over 160 on fight night same as Garcia probably. Just give Garcia the credit - he was too explosive & powerful for Haney.
Barry jones said Garcia had no chance what so ever
I would've spent more time talking about the biased or corrupt referee than the failing to make weight. Can't believe they were all pro-Haney after he took a potential career-changing battering.
I mean so did most people...hardly an awful take
I’m not going to pretend I gave Garcia must of a chance, mainly because he just didn’t look in very good shape, but fuck me he exposed Haney.
Haney's first time in with someone his size. It's not looking good going forward. Those who put him above Matias at 140 should show themselves.
Yes I said this. He’s been fighting guys who he’s naturally so much bigger than his whole career. First time he’s in with a young fresh fighter who’s his size, and he got destroyed.
I like Andy, and he knows more about boxing than I ever will but he sometimes comes across as just a bit too high and mighty in scenarios where he could just enjoy these moments
Exactly! He’s coming across very arrogant here! Terrible look!
Hit the nail on the head 🔨
May as well not have weight limits then
Andy was 100% correct- RG cheated and it wasn’t a level playing field
He is a privately educated Tory prat.
Address Andys pathetic post fight tweet that it wasn't a legitimate win
They seem to not realize that Ryan missed weight on purpose. He knew he could not make 140 and learned from going in drained and weak vs Tank. Should he be criticized for not making weight? Yes. Could it have played a role in the fight? Yes. Was it the reason Devin lost? No. Devin has no answer for Ryan's right hand and completely gave up on his best strength his jab because he was scared Ryan would counter over it.
*left hand
@@gabriel-uc1uzbut we are robbed of that certainty you mistakenly hold based off of the weight shenanigans, so we must ask, what was the point?
So what ur saying is he gave up 2 million on missing weight and new he was going to miss are u having a joke WTF explain 😂
If he wins he makes 10x that 2 million in his next fight .. if Ryan killed himself to make weight and was weaker in the ring and lost he'd make a lot less in his next fight.. so that 1.5 million is nothing compared to having an advantage to.try and win and now Garcias a super duper star
Andy Clarke should never speak on boxing again
You guys are forgetting that Garcia beat Haney 3 times out of 6 in amateurs so he knew Haney..I don’t agree with your assessment that Haney should have been all wrong for Garcia as it was 3-3
Great analysis fellas 🙌
It is always funny when pseudo boxing intellectuals get it so wrong.
It's always funny when pseudo intellectuals clamour at straws to make themselves feel validated.
Agreed tho Coming back this now, Ryan’s a cheater too
None of these systemic issues will be resolved until we bring back same day weigh-ins. We gain very little from watching a light welterweight title fight between two super/middles in which only one meets the contracted weight the day before.
Usually if youre the smaller guy youre faster feet and quicker hands but that wasnt the case with garcia he was still faster
That Clark has no clue what he’s talking about don’t ask for extra money to take the fight then complain when he gets beat this guy should be no we’re near commentating on boxing clueless
Haney isn't complaining though .. just like most boxers don't complain about failed PED doesn't mean people should be OK with it ?
@@chrishaswell4405 he didn’t have to take the fight 3 lb or not he still woulda lost Haney is done fighters are going to be lining up now because they no his chins weak
Ryan Garcia is NOT crazy, he's a classic self-medicating Bi-Polar, blessed with speed & power, WBC should create a 143 lbs BMF belt for him
Agree with Andy here. We can't normalise this missing the weight on purpose bs & doing this catchweight bollocks going forward like Ryan is suggesting against Tank. Shame cause I loved the fight live & the upset, but the noise & agreement from casuals is concerning.
Can’t wait for this 🥊, Please address the ridiculous comments of Ryan cheated. Haney came in at least 20 pounds heavier than his last two opponents and he accepted the money anyway no excuses! Weight doesn’t win fights, Skills pay the bills.
What’s that gotta do with missing weight? You any idea how difficult and depleting it is to cut those last few pounds? One was a professional and made weight, the other intentionally didn’t, to gain an advantage.
Do you not watch much boxing? There's a big difference between killing yourself to make a weight and having a fake beer before the fight as you're not. He was kinda fighting a guy in a different weight class to him.
Andy's comments post fight were poor. said it wasn't a legitimate victory is nonsense.
@@thesmithsnerdif anyone thinks the reason Devon lost that fight is because of 3 pounds I don’t know what to tell you. how many times was Floyd Mayweather outweighed by 20 plus pounds it doesn’t matter. Also if it mattered so much Devon wouldn’t have taken the 600k. Stop with the excuses guys
I like Haney but he is a weight bully and drains himself to make weight then blows up overnight he’s huge. Karma is undefeated.
Haney said he was 'levels above' Garcia, so why would 3 pounds make such a difference to a fighter who was levels above? You aren't hearing either Haney moan about it, because they know full well Garcia was just better
Was he better ??? Did he out box Haney ? No .. he had power and speed .. and maybe if he killed himself those last 3/4 lbs he wouldn't have that same power and energy in rd 10/11 because without those knockdowns he loses
@@chrishaswell4405he outlander Haney , so yes he outboxed
Opening theme's very tuneless and tedious, always enjoy the podcast, extremely informative and eye-opening ❤
Just cant understand why everyone focusing on Haney loss than Garcia beatdown of Haney 😮 Garcia fooled the masses rolled the dice with weight thing gambled and Won 😂 there was reason Tank davies put a weight restriction on Garcia. Haney is not Elite and you have to give Garcia his props ??
My feelings are complicated on this. Rules exist and sport should be fair and i do feel it was unprofessional and all that, I understand that Haney cuts a lot of weight so i can see how some see this as retribution, but I do feel this has some slight comparisons with Wood/Lara 2. The Haneys should have had a rehydration clause in there with the financial penalty. But the WBC have confirmed he stays champion. but I feel this could be a shift in how the 'stars' in Boxing move forward within the sport. One of the first PPV stars in Boxing who said 'fuck the belts' which we've been crying about for so long, it takes someone to succeed doing this for others to take note and take control from these crooks that corrupt our sport that we love so much
Haney weight bullied lomachenko and should of lost that fight 🤨
And prograis
No one complains about heavy weights being 3e stone heavier lol , coming in heavy is not all advantages.
Heavy weights don't cut weight.. like Andy said in this video, " If you think it's only about 3lbs and not the actual cutting of that weight, you can't be helped"
Great episode as usual 🔥🙌
Haney's tactics were poor. He was still feeling himself from the last performance against Prograis where he was more aggressive and put Prograis down etc and he thought he could beat Ryan up for 7-8 rounds and Ryan would quit or get stopped. But standing there trying to exchange with Ryan on the outside he wasn't quick enough to slip and dodge the left hooks Ryan was throwing and he got hurt and dropped constantly because of it. If he'd of boxed and moved and used his jab and stayed out the way he might have just boxed to a points win but he definitely thought he could just get on the front foot and win that way but didnt have the power or chin.
That was an Amazing Fight. Ben Davidson needs to Train Haney again so he doesn't get hit with the Left Hook so easily
There’s a lot of strange people in these comments that aren’t usually here. The lack of common sense and ability to think critically is staggering. It’s not “negativity” or “hating”, people just don’t seem to like truth… 🤦♂️ I never knew Garcia and Tyson Fury shared so many fans, but there’s an obvious correlation there in the type of people that jump to their defence.
Boxing is great! I didn't even watch it as I was THAT convinced it would be a Haney UD, bloody eck. Interested to see the scoring though - 3 knockdowns isn't enough to win a fight if you get a point deducted and lose nearly all the other rounds...(I imagine that's why some gave it a draw?).
He deserved the win probably won first round. And one or two other rounds even with a point deduction and the reason for that is haney was holding on for dear life so garcia lost his rag slapped haney the thing is haney should of had a point off for holding the ref was so so on haneys side bad ref
Haney is the biggest weight bully. He must walk around at 13 stone and they were both moving up in weight. So it was a level playing field. No hydration clause so both had equal opportunity of a day and a half to put all of the weight back on.
You can’t bully when you make the weight!!
This is bs...this is literally just how boxing has always worked but suddenly it's an issue?
@@d.b.cooper1 People mentioned Garcia weight but Haney was huge for 135 and looked drained at weigh in for 140. He always has a size advantage but not on Saturday
@@lukepeacham9663 yes and this is literally how boxing has always worked unless you have a rehydration clause. As long as you make the agreed weight you can always add back on, it's not as simple as most weight added on wins as it's a huge trade off between speed/foot movement & being sluggish etc. This is boxing. This weight bully stuff is just bs the new gen z fighters beef about on twitter to casuals when it suits them best. It's not like Haney puts on weight but forces his opponents to have rehydration clauses, which is the worst thing in boxing imo & more dnagerous/unfair.
I agree with Andy, if he was going to miss weight by that much, they will have known it quite far out, and should have renegotiated to allow Haney to make the same weight and not drain himself a further 3 lbs. If he did that it would have made the win more legitimate
Devins only just moved from 135 to 140 and after he outclassed prograis in his first fight at 140 I don’t think Devin struggles to get to that weight obviously Garcia does, most people still expected Haney to win despite the 3lbs I’d say it’s more a case of him constantly dipping to the right and being in with someone who also has a decent reach who can match him for speed too we’ve never seen him against someone like that it’s more a case of him being found out defensively/technically so shouldn’t take too much credit away from Garcia’s win. Another great episode 🥊
Think it was Andy who recently talked about getting buzzed and the fighter not ever being able to come back I thought about after the 1st
Andy puts me off this podcast time for a change
Barry Jones is so funny adds the "Ian Wright" knowledgeable fun to the sport. I would like Barry to explain weight to the casual fan. 3 pounds to most people is nothing. They don't understand that fighters have no body fat to loose. No podcast explains this. I've found that 99% of fans understand this also weight divisions and the implications. Love Barry....reckon a series on the weights rules unification....numerous titles etc is overlooked and taken as a given. Big views for you Barry
Madness prevailed!. Garcia proved us all wrong!.
This is why our sport is the best thing in the world 🥊🥊
Good work gents. I too felt Haney easily had his measure,in my casual opinion. First round knockdown scrambled the compass. Not right thereafter. Bill asked he continue to use the ‘brick’ and for the middle rounds complied. Once he wanted to brawl, Haney was over powered. Jab, pivot, make Garcia submit. (Sorry Barry, couldn’t work in Calzaghe) Anyway, to the victor go the spoils.
It's that Devin rehydrates to such a large number that it seems impossible without using an IV drip, which is illegal. And according to Regis Prograis, Devin rehydrates past the amount stipulated in their contract. So it IS hard to feel bad for Devin about the weight.
I think these chaps would not have had it so close, if they did not praise Haney to the skies and deny Garcia had a hope the entire build-up; only so far one can backpedal, I suppose.
He was a few pounds over in his last fight too wasn't he? Back in December
Haney could have pulled frim the fight as they would have known 4 weeks before the fight that Garcia was not on course to reach 140
Ryan isnt unhinged. Ryanisn't "trolling". Hes just a bit weird. Thats just who he is.
Once the contract was rewritten, art was honored and Haney was paid much more than they are typically for overweight. Weight didnt stop Haney from dropping his right hand. It didnt make Haneys game plan what it was. Haney has always outweighed his opponents by 10-15 lbs. Haney has always been chinny. Sounds like if it's that hard on him, he's at the wrong weight class.
Did Haney jaw get broken??? I see the post fight pix looks like it to me
A lot of sense being spoken here. Garcia cheated weight and had no intention of making 140 fight week….lots of casuals outing themselves post fight by not understanding the difference having to lose the final 3 lbs from 143 to 140 could have made to Garcia and his performance. Team Haney asleep at the wheel when it came to renegotiating the fight.
What a brilliant debate on the weight issue
Haney also put a hydration clause on Progrias and then balloons up in weight on the night. A side do A side things, Haney got played and then accepted the money. He thought the last 3 pounds made no difference and thought he would stop Garcia. How can people now make excuses for the man it’s baffling. Size didn’t beat Haney skills did, I’ll say it again weight and resume doesn’t win fights skill does.
Haney been a weight bully for the longest time. Haney chose to carry on with the fight…if he got down to 143 he must have tried to cut the weight? Not like Garcia is walking around at 143….
Fully agree with Andy. Garcia had unfair advantage. He was huge in the ring compared to Devin.
A proper larruping was given to Mr Haney.
Couldn't watch the show too much moaning about weight
Garcia, Haney, were 3-3 in the amateurs, yet you guys gave him no chance. The 'boxing experts' have proven we shouldn't rely upon opinions & the only way to find out is for them to fight. This mentality is why Fury is regarded as being the best, without proving it. Haney has shown to have a suspect chin and isn't a power puncher. I genuinely gave Ryan a decent chance to pull off the upset.
Turns out ..... that late night or whatever time a day jog/run with floyd & garcia.... floyd was giving him the 'blueprint' ....
Don't get the complete disregard concerning the weight by some. Garcia doesn't need a world title but of course it played a factor. Garcia had a head start and advantage there when it came to rehydrating, didn't have to take them last few pounds off - should we stop bothering with weight limits for big fights that will bring in a big audience anyway? As for Haney being a "weight bully". I think if you make the weight, which he does, fair game. There's risks with draining yourself too much.
Haney contractually broke rules against prograis, he came in massive in that fight. I dont feel bad for him to be honest. I agree it was unprofessional of ryan but ultimately he won relatively comfortably imo. Devin was scared to throw at Ryan and thats what happened
I think fighters should train and fight at their normal weights if you are 160 after rehydration why not fight at that weight and train. You know taller people generally weigh more than shorter people and shorter people can easily get more muscle mass
People need to stop complaining about 3 pounds they fight on fight night not on the weigh in devin is known for blowing up 20+ pounds on fight night way over the limit so it’s an even playing field. Devin accepted the fight and he lost. Devin himself said it didn’t matter what Ryan weighed in
Haney been pulling the size card for years . While your hear . Talk about Garcia at 35 against tank
Ryan played Haney at his own game bc he's normally coming in to the ring at 165
Haney took the money - end of. Between the fight and the weigh in was anyone saying any of this? So many "pundits" showing their character (not Barry)
Andy is completely correct. Garcia really stinks out the sport for missing weight.
So, Floyd Mayweather jr.'s victory over Marquez years ago was also not a legitimate one?
Garcia mugged him including a beating. Rematch at 147 . But Garcia will make him wait
Garcia - If I get $8 million for the fight and invest $2 million on betting on myself. If I lose I only get $6 miilion - less $1.5 millliion for missing the weight $ 4.5 million. But if i do pics in nightclubs with porn stars at 3am that will make the betting odds so great I will win $12 million on the bet - plus $4.5 million purse = $16.5 million and a bigger next payday.
To act like Haney won every round without a KD is hilarious
DEVIN IS GONNA HATE RYAN FOREVER
Three pounds is nothing in boxing so that excuse from the panel is rubbish. I’ve boxed and boxed people heavier by three pounds as it’s allowed and it goes on regularly in non title bouts. This became a non title bout when Ryan missed weight purposely to get into Haneys head and it worked. On the night Ryan was 150 pounds where as Hainey had gone all they way up to 160 pounds like he did against Regis. So who has the weight problem as it’s clearly not Ryan and Hainey got exposed for not being as good as the panel tried to con the public into thinking. Ryan was a top Amateur having and amateur record of 215 wins 15 losses and three of those losses came to Hainey but Ryan beat Hainey three times in the six time they both met. Garcia was also a national amateur champion so his class was always apparent but he went down the insta and KZhead route. He also beat an Olympian in Luke Campbell. The panel are just angry they bought into the new Mayweather nick name Hainey was given and got conned. They need to do better research on fighters as they now have egg on their faces
Both fighters have manipulated flaws within the weighing process , Haneys recent fights he could not function fully nevermind physically compete at his weighin weight , with IVs and other advancements to rehydrate its diffetent to previous generations when gaining the weight back , ALL divisions should have a mandatory maximum on fight night , i personally think the 10lbs limit one of the organisations use is to much as thats 5KG in a day thats a considerable difference for the medium and smaller weights
The Judges Robbed Sean McCombs. He Clearly Won the Fight. I Live in NYC & i can see it was some Home Cooking for Arnold Barbosa. McCombs was landing Combinations repeatedly in All the rounds.
Gervonta had it written in contact dehydration clause 😂
1 thing we learned Haney can be hurt, Mayweather could take a punch
I have no sympathy for fighters “making weight” their making weight for an advantage otherwise they’d fight at a higher weight for less of a drain.
They weighed in hours b4 the ceremonial weigh-in, the beer drinking shit is balls... If ryan wanted to make it he would've
Usually love the program and I get the weight being an issue, but you guys couldn’t go 2 sentences without bringing it up. Give the kid some credit
Can I humbly suggest post fight the crazy behaviour had reasons beyond the fight. He said one day it will come out? His team laughed. He's going through a divorce ....I'm sure his ex knew his occasional recreational activities. His settlement must be huge...and surely the threat of personal secrets has to be major? So .......
It’s only an issue now Haney lost your making to much of this weight
Ryan v Virgil?
Vergil ortiz is 154
I was looking for this yesterday and couldn't find it ha it'll do now though 👍👌
Andy Clark is fuming about the weight 😂😂😂
I’d like to see the rematch. Think all boxing fans will acknowledge that their is an asterisk on this win for Garcia even though he proved he can box at the elite level. Making weight is really important, Haney looked really drained at the weigh in and Garcia looked like he didn’t really try to make weight at all. Rematch could be really big given the fight week drama and pretty dramatic fight. Gives Ryan another chance to win a world title and prove he’s a serious. Doubt it happens though
Andy's wife puts on a few pounds over Christmas ⛄ Andy:
It has come out that Garcias s and c coach had a contract to only get him down to 143 so clearly was pre med

Manny 144 LB VS Margarito 150 LB. Margarito was nearly 170 LB during fight night while Pacquiao was 148 LB. I don’t wanna hear Shit about weights. Either you are great or you’re not. STOP making excuses for these Boxers. 🤦♂️
The difference between Loma fight and fights at 140 is he was 25 lb heavier than Loma he’s not going to weight bullie anyone from now on the boys are the same size as him a honestly think he’s done now his jaws broke so he’s going to be out the ring for nearly a year so he’s going to have the mental scar and his opponents are always going to have that hope after watching that Andy Clark’s butt hurt over Haney losing 😂😂😂
Bruh andy clark spent 15 mins crying about the weight. Haney accepted the 1.5 million and the fight happened, cry more
Exactly and if haney would have won would clarke still be moaning about the weight ? No he wouldn't, haney chose to fight on so its his fault/problem.
So we gonna say the same about PEDs ? If the fighter takes the fight then so what? Lol
@chrishaswell4405 haney knew about the weight before they fought and still continued to fight, so you can't complain after when you get beat. It's the same when a fighter goes in the ring ill or injured and they use that as an excuse when they get beat but they shouldn't because they chose to take the fight.
