I have to be honest, I was literally willing the little thing to move over to the stuff you wanted cleaned up. There is something oddly fascinating about watching these little guys roaming around, whether they be dirt cheap or the super expensive ones. You have just got to love robots, no matter what their purpose is for existing. I'm actually sitting here looking at robot vacuum cleaners on Ebay right now and just found your video while browsing around.
This doesn't suck...it works off the principle of static so would just pick up dust from a laminate floor for example
I recognise that mechanism, years ago I had a Dalek with the same drive. The axle is on a bogey that is free to rotate. When it can drive, the vertical gear turns the axle and drives the wheels. When the wheels are stopped, the vertical gear then turns the bogey. It's quite an amazing roving mechanism that is purely mechanical

feel that only serves a couple of purposes, one being damaging all the paintwork around the bottom of the walls... and second, spreading out shit if your dog has an accident.

U buy a sweeping robot and you expect it to catch and hold big crumbles of popcorn? It's not a fricking vacuum cleaner! it's purpose is for taking dust, not trash on the floor ? and shure it makes a hell of a noise bc u have tiles with relief on it... try it on a wooden floor next time...
