Band-Maid fans are fanatics. I discovered them around the beginning of 2023. 5 months later I was on a plane to see them play live in Houston. BTW, They tour the U.S, practically every year.
Saiki the lead singer has had throat surgery in the past so the band are very careful with her voice. They play 2+ hour sets so to give Saiki a break around mid-set they do three things. 1. Play an instrumental, 2. Miku (rhythm guitar) takes lead vocals for a song or two (she usually has one track per album where she is lead vocalist) and 3. Miku will do her legendary and hilarious "Magic Time" MC set. Then Saiki comes back on to finish the set. Even though Saiki no longer needs a break nowadays, it's become more of a tradition. So yeah, they have a number of really cool instrumental tracks. Check out the live MV of "Onset" for another instrumental banger!
And on the 7th day God said let's chill and Jam some Band Maid!

I’m not sure there’s any hope for you from here. Band Maid has got you hooked. Your life will always be a little bit better because of them. Band Maid is a musician’s band for sure. They’re kinda unique in that they are progressive and complex enough for music theory nerds, but fun and catchy enough for any casual rock fan. One of their best examples of this would be either “DICE” OMV, or “Freedom,” official live video. Enjoy the ride 🚀
There are a few more instrumentals you should check out, "Without Holding Back", "Don't Be Long" and "Onset". All excellent!
Don"t Be Long is sooooooo underrated. There is an amazing fan cam of them performing it live in NYC. Miku goes off !!!

Akane has creative drum fills and highlights in most of BM's songs. If you want see her do a drum solo, I recommend you watch their video for Freedom (live version).

if ya can't hear the bassist (Misa) you might need to adjust your EQ, because she is going full ham on every track, and is almost always very audible in their mix.
