It's amazing that the builder was able to replicate not only the looks, but also the reliability of Italian cars so perfectly! 😅

Ahhahahaaahaa... Too funny 😂
😂👍
And at a much more budget friendly manner to boot
I laughed pretty good when you first got in it, but the “I hope someone steals this” had me cracking up. 😂🤣
With any luck some vandals will set it ablaze and you can claim 10x its value in insurance.... if it was actually road legal but it's not so no insurance.
"Let me shut this off..man I hope someone steals this." Thats was pretty funny.
You would see the thieves broke down 5 miles down the road. 😂
He got me with the "stop laughing" calling me out lololol
I'm a Knoxville resident and I'm not surprised at all that this thing was dreamed up and made in Knox County.
The things Derek does to entertain the fans is beyond words. Thanks VGG for your death defying acts 🤘🏻🇺🇸
Appreciate y'all!
And we appreciate you, your work, and the content!
@@ViceGripGarageI was laughing sooo hard for a while there...I couldn't enjoy my cold snack... Merry Christmas to you and Jessica and the Boyz... Praying for better 24
He's definitely a good entertainer as well as a top-notch mechanical guy.
Know it must have been painful but was entertaining to watch! They just didn’t make them like they used to!!
I think you need to cover it in roofing shingles to prevent it from rotting any further
Hurricane proof?
Don’t skip on the ice & water shield either
That’s for undercoating, you guys.
Yep. Roll lathe paper and put some shingles on it!

Love this type of on-the-road-survival content, much respect for hanging in there until the bitter end. It may have been suffering, but it wasn't for naught!
Would love to see a 2nd part to see what happens with this. It is a quite the unique car :)
Where is it now? I think we need a second episode with closure.
After seeing the weld on the exhaust, I see why he went with wood 😂😂😂
Wood is good(enough)... 😂
You'd think the guy could design a better exhuast,he took it off a suzuki motorcycle or something.
Derek, I’m sorry that your Lambo is destined for a wood chipper but this was one of the funniest videos you have ever produced, thank you!
Nah, it's lawn art.
sorry to see you didn’t make it I hate to see you waste too much money on a junk like this
Spoiler alert. 🤨
Well said
No kidding “ go back 8 years and watch them , it’s one of the reasons i have been watching his videos for a long time now !
The 3100 engine was a great engine. The Chevrolet Lumina had a 3100 160hp which was good for the 1990's. 3.1 L/3100 L82 The L82 ("M-code") was an updated, SFI replacement for the MPFI LH0, produced from 1993 through 1999. It featured a structural oil pan, a stiffer redesigned engine block, sequential fuel injection, and revised aluminum heads. Output for the L82 was up 20 hp (15 kW), over the previous Gen II LH0, to 160 hp (119 kW) at 5200 rpm and 185 lb⋅ft (251 N⋅m) at 4000 rpm. Compression ratio for the L82 was 9.5:1 and the bore measured 89 mm (3.5 in), while the stroke was 84 mm (3.31 in) giving it a displacement of 3.1 L; 191.3 cu in (3,135 cc). I appreciate that you put your self thru situations like this just to brighten my and others day.
Love this, reliability is spot on, takes luck and skill to ride that 30 miles let alone 300. Hey thanks for the Berryman B-12 suggestion, I run that in the old ford truck that's been/was sitting alot and it smoothed out the lumpyness on idle, ill get around to pulling the injectors someday... great vid, cheers
I want to sincerely thank you for the great, kid friendly content Derek. My 5 year old son and I love watching, and I know it's safe for the both of us!
.....until someone like him rear ends you and you find he's been running with half the braking system blocked off. Let's hope no one ever gets hurt huh....
@@mark8544okay, Mr. "I feel the need to be negative for no reason at all" you watch Derek, you support Derek.
Stay safe out there buddy
@@mark8544keeping negative yep Derek is totally Reckless it's not like he has a young son and family to get home to that he cares about I see him speeding all the time on cars he says have no brakes he drives tires with too low of tread what a terrible person it's not like he's always doing 10K under the speed limit or anything
@@mark8544 The only one getting hurt in a collision with that pirate ship is himself. If you're speaking about his content in general, it's not like a 5 year old would understand the mechanics or lack there of. It's just videos about a dude cranking on cars that a dad and his young son enjoy watching together. What's to hate about that?
This one made me laugh out loud multiple times. You sacrifice for our entertainment and it's greatly appreciated. I wish you were able to get it home and into the wood chipper but I guess it can just decompose where it sits.
Thanks for watching!
I thought for sure you'd a made it.@@ViceGripGarage
It was still a success because we were so entertained! Woodchipper would have been a grand ending, maybe another video? We can dream!

Excellent humor on this episode I'm very proud of you Derek, good job
Fantastic video! As a 6' 3'", 240 guy, I felt every move when you got into the car. Congrats. You did it!
As a 6' 3" 300 guy, I'll just walk 😂
I was so mad when the engine locked up & it wooden start. He went out on a limb buying this & really branched out. Hopefully Derek gets to the root of the problem and it never leaves him stranded or uprooted out of town again. Im still stumped as to why it wont start.
Very goodImplaboy, If Derek leaves will he pine for it or cut his losses after the multi ply problems made him fell over/ lol.
I was really hoping this one would make it home. But when the head gaskets go you can't really stick it out much longer.
Stumped !
That cars a birch, wood've loved to se it grow to be strong as a oak
It's a shame he did knot make it home!
I laughed so hard at the abandoned tire shop! I think I enjoy the failures more than the successes. Keep up the great work Derek!
I know it look empty by the look of that garage door😂😂😂
Failures are great because that's the world most of us live in
This was the definitely the comedy episode. Right from the line "easy on the Sherman Williams" I never stopped laughing
32:12 - The reference to Bob Vila was on point and hilarious. I was already subscribed but if I wasn't I would have just on that alone! Keep up the amazing content!
This is the best possible final adventure for this particular vehicular construction.

No matter what you always make me chuckle that's why I'm addicted to your channel and I forget everything that is going on in my life. thank you
I remember when I had a 85 Fiero in 94, wishing I could afford a kit car for the lamborghini countach, since it was my dream car. Buying spare parts out of the local car paper I found a guy who was actually building one and I was jealous! I never thought of making it out of wood though lol. That fiero would overheat like crazy, couldn't imagine this setup. I think back then I priced out all the parts for a kit conversion and it was about 50 grand, crazy.
The Lumberghini was as reliable as it was easy to drive 👌🏼 Thank you Derek for squeezing into that matchbox and giving it your all on our behalf. Legendary effort 👍🏼 🇬🇧
Can't even imagine the hours that went into it, great, hail to the builder
That thing is so awesome. True redneck victory.
The builder was a dumbass that had too much money and too much spare time
Hail? No problem
It needs to be in a quirky museum with a Don Johnson/Magnum Pi type mannequin…
Too bad the builder used "particle board" when building it, OSB wood have been better.
Your temperament is admirable, to say the least. Great stuff.
Wow, everytime something could go wrong it did, and yet you still continued on until the very end. Gotta respect it.
One highlight of this ride, no rust. Also the exhaust welding is top notch.
And it had brakes.
But are termites an issue
yeah but its not like wood does not suffer under moister
@@aliasfred it had steering wheel vibration pads if you will, lol
Also love the steering wheel airbag
You are a damn soldier! I wouldve called it quits at the shed. I'm impressed how many tricks you threw at this thing just to make it move forward. And here i am with a three year old project in the garage and I'm still procrastinating about a brake line. Lol I salute you, sir.
Go get it done, brother!
I don't blame a feller for not wanting to tackle a brake line cause there is always another rotten one somewhere worse to replace that pops after you fix that one.
Hey there brother! I love these videos, the ingenuity and skill that you use to bring these cars back to life is honestly astounding! your videos have inspired me to finally work on my late grandfathers 1953 studebaker champion. im not sure if this is typically a thing you do but as a person with little automotive expedience outside routine maintenance would you ever consider a video or a series documenting some of the best ways to diagnose issues and determine their fixability on these old cars? id love to see something like that
I had the head gasket thought ealier on when you pressed down on the radiator cap and the hissing got quieter. Was thinking that's not right, thats a lot of air pressure built up in a fluid zone. Throw a match on it and start from scratch. Step 1, Don't use something sooo prone to moisture absorption as MDF. That stuff wicks up every drop of moisure and swells sooo bad.
Can we all between the laughing just appreciate all the work that went into building this?!
there is no way I would ever drive that 300 miles. One accident and you have lost your life. Yet Rain? or any other problems. engine fire and you burn to death......Just no way I would do it.

Man! This might be the funniest episode ever. That being said Derek put up with this thing WAY longer that I would have.
5:23 "this thing is awesome" god bless your soul
57:05 This is quite cool! I know that O'Reilly. It's where I was when I found I had no brake juice left in my rusty Subaru. Bought two cans there, went five miles, had even less brakes. Found the leak in the Ingles parking lot. Topped it off and drove back the last eight miles hole, just downshifting and using the parking brake.
Those welding skills are a good sign of why its made of wood 😮
I’m only 15 minutes in but I think this is going to be the best episode I’ve seen. And I’ve seen them all. This thing is amazing. And by amazing, I mean completely ridiculous.
This one and the one before had a lot more funny moments, I mean they all have some good laugh factors but the last couple I still LOL at Derek yelling NO! at that caddy’s engine
I have seen them all and for me this is far from my favorite. Still entertaining though.
I love your grind , its much like my entire life , patching shit up good enough to get home just reacting to whatever life throws your way , a challenge and a half . Every damn day of it , never ending grind hard wrenching every day
very interesting find, not sure i would want it but i can appreciate the labor put into it.
Loved the Bob Villa line. The lingering question in my mind is what would have done with it if you made it home?????
Firewood of course.
The subtle "man, I hope someone steals this" was hilarious.
For future reference spray adhesive works great for Is rebeating your rim entire
Congratulations on your new yard art.
Derek going out on a limb again, branching out you might say. Getting to the root of the problem and as usual he leaves us all fully entertained. I've left many more bad puns for others if they feel the need. Merry Christmas all.
Knock on wood that you can keep coming up with more puns!

From what I saw he did his best. It's always a treat when you log into Derek's channel, just a pity he didn't nail this one (were those the ones you were thinking of)

Sitting here by myself and just busted out laughing when Derek pulled out onto the road blind, hollared, “Comin’ out!” and the braced for impact. OMG! 😂😂😂. Still laughing from that and then he’s turning off the car at the air pump and says, “Man, I hope someone steals this.” 😂😂😂😅

I loved this episode. I laughed so hard my stomach hurts. When you were washing it I was like no! Now it's going to be heavier all soaked with water and be too much for that tired engine to handle. Well this probably wasn't the best investment but maybe the KZhead views will make up for it. I also like that your videos are longer than most KZheadrs. It is definitely worth every minute to watch. I agree 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you for another amazing video. 👏
I love this video and this guy's sense of humor and hes calm and collected which makes it even funnier 🤣except when the engine overheated. Then not funny. I enjoyed he hell out of this video. Kudos!
The best part of a VGG video is that, even in failure, Derek does his best to get these cars home. He's succeeded so many times that you don't feel too bad if the car doesn't make the entire trip. Merry Christmas to Derek, Jessica, and the entire VGG family, and I hope to see this car again, because I dreamed of owning a Countach too - maybe not a wooden one, though.
He makes the failure just as entertaining. I was pulling for him but once he verbally accepted it was about done I couldn’t help but think he was right
this one was pretty sketchy
@@bb5242 bit of an understatement 😂 it caught fire what twice? 😂
The good ol 3100.. they started that series of engine in 95. Thats all i run in my derby cars. This one had a huge vacuum leak which is usually just past the throttle body in the upper plenum. Its a vacuum for the valve covers and something else that i forget because i weld that hole shut along with the egr port. They are amazing engines as long at the fueling is correct and it has good intake gaskets. Ive overheated mine a couple times and its still doing well. I just keep swapping it from one derby car to the next. Lol
Just fixed the same leak in my grandma's car yesterday. I noticed the sound
I kept thinking I was hearing a vacuum leak when he was first messing with it!
I loved the music in this one! Great episode!
Never seen a fail, keep up the great entertainment man! It always excites us!
Those 3100 V6's are notorious for the water cooled Intake Manifold gaskets going bad. I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually that plus a bad head gasket since it got so hot. Love your Videos man and will always be a subscriber to your channel, best Channel on KZhead VGG 4 EVER !!!

Should definitely put a good 2.8 and transmission from a fiero just so it can move around reliably and find a local school that still has a shop class program of some sort. This is a crossover project that could really inspire someone to see the potential in the art of carpentry
But ditch the PRNDL lol
