The Coros Vertix 2S is the new top watch in the Coros range. It’s not a smaller Coros Vertix 2, but an upgrade on it, with a new optical heart rate sensor and GPS configuration, both of which promise better accuracy. Mike, Kieran and Nick have been testing the watch ahead of its launch and give their early thoughts on it in this video, with our full review to come in the next few weeks.

  • Had considered changing to Coros from Garmin but after watching this I think I'll stick with my 955 for a bit longer.

  • Pricing in the UK is odd... it's priced exactly the same as the Suunto Vertical Solar Steel which weighs the same but has 140 HOURS in GPS only... seems like the clear choice for ultra runners? Cool watch though, it definitely looks RAD 🔥

  • Coros probably should have waited a bit and released a Vertix 3 with more innovation in it. This watch is pretty much a Pace 3 with better materials and maps(which do not seem to work very well). The price of the Pace 3 is awesome for the functions it has, but I am not sure the Vertix justifies it's price. Still a great watch, but I don't think it would sell that much.

  • Bit of a left field question but how do you guys rate the Coros heart rate strap that goes on the arm?

  • My Coros Pace 2 stopped working after 3 and a half years. Now I'm wondering weather to stick with Coros and take the Pace 3 or maybe switch to Garmin 965 or maybe a Suunto. Anyone has any thoughts?

    • I think Garmin 955 ( Non Solar ) still a good buy. Depend on where you live price usually around $380-450 ( Good GPS , Big 1.3" screen , wrist HR is good , MAP )

  • I don't think there's any reason for someone to go for the 2s just for two different ones, one of which was the slightly better GPS signal and the otherwise new heart rate sensor and to pay 700 💰 that's a lot of money no thanks

  • Spoiler alert: it sucks. Just switched from Coros to Garmin after I realized what a piece of absolute SH!T the "new and improved" HR sensor is on Coros watches, including, apparently, the POS sensor on this "new and improved" Vertix, is. Pace 3 (same sensor as this new vertex) is getting returned in the initial 30 day window. Just an absolute POS (not talking about point of sale, folks) ploy to get their customers to buck up for the HR armband, on Coros' part, sadly. Don't buy this crap, my people. I loved my Coros Pace 2 because it honestly offered and delivered supreme GPS accuracy (coros metal body watches like this one actually aren't as good) and heart rate accuracy... I confirmed with a Polar H10 for 5 full years that the Pace 2 had great HR... and then they introduced this "new and improved" POS HR sensor, now featured in the new Vertix... sorry Coros, you drove me to try Garmin, and I'm loving it.
