this guy was one of the most, well rounded players of all time, he's got skills, size, strength, grit, he can fight, he's a leader, and just all around a great hockey player. No offense to the Coyotes, but if he was in a better organization, he would have won the stanley cup at least once for sure.

I understand that under the current format of setting the bar for the hall of fame Shane doan doesn't make the cut. But I think that's a pretty massive error in the system, the system fails to include intangibles. Intangibles like Leadership (on and off the Ice), loyalty, and dedication. If we fail to recognize these intangibles we give youth the idea that they don't matter, when in fact they are more important than every other stat that the hall of fame takes into account.

Won't feel the same watching my Oilers play the Coyotes, and there not being a Shane Doan in those games. He was the name you always looked for in games against the 'Yotes, and his legacy with the team will last forever.

Great player but not a hall of famer. He still had a hell of a career.
@Roberte98346 жыл бұрын
Definitely a famer. He established hockey in Arizona and led to players like Austin Matthews and I would suspect more players in the coming years from Arizona who he inspired to play hockey. Definitely a HOFamer

Won't help much, he isn't being recognized solely for his play. It's for his loyalty to one franchise. A fallen one at that. Mind you, I may be biased because I met him, so my argument may be a bit more emotionally driven.
