I have been adding to my collection since my declutter video and I still have (possibly) a couple of things left on my wishlist, but for now I am happy with moooost of the makeup products I have. I know exactly how you feel when you start buying again, I'm a reformed nail polish hoarder. I had several thousand bottles at one point and then I went on a no buy for like 4 or 5 years where I only repurchased base or topcoat. I've decluttered down to almost exactly 100 bottles now which feels fantastic. I allowed myself to buy a few new bottles and it felt... weird. I have to admit I had to cut myself off again because I felt the urge to do a haul come back, I felt the urge to justify "just one more." So just be aware that it could potentially happen. Set firm boundaries for yourself, like allow yourself to buy that one red lipstick and the powder highlight and then that's it. Or I recommend waiting a little bit and buy those two items later, you don't necessarily have to do all your shopping in one go so that it feels like the hauls you used to do back in the day. Spread it out and normalize what it feels like to buy one item. I used to never just buy one bottle of nail polish, I always justified it that it was cheaper when you include shipping if you bought more than one, but these days I remind myself that nail polish bottles don't have feelings, they don't need a buddy to travel with, they can travel alone, haha!

It's definitely unexpected that starting to shop again would be the hard part, but I think you are so right on going ahead carefully - I did end up buying a powder highlight (no red lipstick yet, but maybe soon) and I am happy it did not trigger any more "I'll just look to see what else is new in store", as I had a real problem with "just one here and there". It's such a fascinating experience, always a new lessons to learn!

Me declutter then buy 😢 again then declutter..😅 buy again new make up items. I guess it's called passion for makeup 😂 I guess it's ok cause it keeps us happy when we get ready for make up. Also somehow or rather it gives that confidence of being well dressed.😊😊😊
I love seeing how much thought goes into purchasing something and if you want it, you want it! So happy to see a new video from you, especially after I recently decluttered some of my own makeup and can totally relate lol. Bought a blush I didn’t need but totally wanted, and it makes me so happy to have that new addition, even thought technically I already had two others 😊

I know excactly what you are talking about in the end of the video! I did a year long makeup no buy back in 2019. It was way easier to not buy anything than allow myself to purchase little something here and there.

I would recommend Nars Fort de France for powder highlighter. It gives a lovely wet look without being overly glittery. Buy a mini if you can…it lasts forever.

For subtle powder highlighter I recommend the Hourglass Strobe Lighting Powder in Incandescent, the mini one will last you for a very long time, it’s good for a 12M after opening. In my Sephora there’s only that one shade available in mini size but online should be more. 😊

And yes to the red lipstick! I remember watching your video on the nars matte lip pencil and when you tried on Cruella it was just *chef’s kiss* Red lipstick looks soooo good on you and makes your beautiful blue eyes stand out even more.
