Built a new paddock for the goats with 2 strand poly wire electric fence. The goats look so happy and excited to get some more fresh brush!! They did an amazing job on the last paddock. They are multifora rose, honeysuckle, and many other invasive woody species!
What a beautiful world, your video just awesome
LOVE seeing goats on their preferred browse!! Most of the time I see goats on grass pasture. My small herd of goats are on browse for the majority of their diet.
Nobody ever does a video of the area after the goats have been off for 60 days. Id like to see how the place grows back
I’ll do some videos going later into summer on that. Right now the goats have a bigger area for kidding and we’re not cramming them in tight. But from my experience after taking all the green in a paddock for the first time with it grows back almost the same as grass does after a grazing. I can do a video explaining all that as well. Thanks for commenting!

Amazing how much they clear out. You sure have lots of energy and enthusiasm. And you think outside the box that is prevalent in so much of life. Blessings to your family
Blessings to you Doug! Thanks for watching!

The terrain of your farm tells why you have goats. The steep hills and thick brush are a perfect environment. How is the dairy operation doing? Thanks for the video and have a wonderful weekend.
The dairy is doing good. I should do a video there to sometime to show everyone how that all operates with everything else going on. Grazing the dairy heifers there along with the dry cows too. Never a dull moment that’s for sure!
@@WholesomeFamilyFarms yes that would be cool to see

Nice looking herd! Thanks for sharing. Tree leaves are my herd's favorite snack. Unfortunately they get a belly ache if they eat too many.
Its very very good , 🐐🐐🐐
I'm so envious. You're living my life and dream, good for you.
We are definitely blessed to be doing what we’re doing. Pray and work hard and God will bless your efforts!
I watch first time your videos i am from Pakistan i am Big lover of goat farming so good work i love it
Hello, that is an amazing number of healthy and hardy goats. Do you ever sell goats from your farm?? If yes, what time in the year does this occur??
@olumideiluyomade7613 yes we do. We usually sell the goats in the fall and into the winter. Feel free to email us anytime! info@wholesomefamilyfarms.com
Nice to see your beautiful goats. Mine , i have to kick them off my back . When i sit down they fight for who could lay her front end on my lap while she is chowing her cud
Haha goats are apt of fun! They all have their own special personalities!
Please remember to show an after when they are done. How many guard dog do you run with this heard.
We run 2 good ones and 2 more that we’re trying to get bonded with everyone if they don’t work out we’ll get some more pups.

Is it difficult to sell that many goats there?
There are a few different markets to hit. We do a lot of direct sales as well.
Beautiful goats what about the milking ability?
We don’t milk any ourselves but watching them feed their kids they must have good milk because they really grow!
How cold can they handle? In the winter you have to feed them indoors, right? How much does it cost you through the winter?
I feed them outside all winter. They have a 3 sided shed to go into to get out of the wind. The cold they can handle it’s the wind that’s tough.
Spanish goats are wrongly utilized.. I saw some Boer mix..and possibly some Myotonic mix too.. they look happy..
Good video keep going 😊
Would really like to know the exact layout of your 2 strand poly wire electic fence.
The 2 strand polywire is portable fence so every time we move the goats that changes .
@@WholesomeFamilyFarms I was under the impression with that much brush it's hard to keep the fence charged.
How many goats did you have when you started and when ago was it?
We started in early 2020 and we started a herd with 80 does.
@@WholesomeFamilyFarms how many are they now?
what do you with them during winter? love it.
I’ll release another video of how we out winter them here in a few days. Thanks for watching!
Cool.Work a bit on steadying the shot. If this a POV film disregard prior comment. Beautiful life on the farm with family.
I’m not a tech savvy guy what does POV mean? Thanks for watching!
@@WholesomeFamilyFarms POV is Point of View,Headcam or chest cam. Just unedited chores. Great for saving on editing time for daily videos. Just talk while you work to hold our attention. Great for live stream.
Do you have pretty good luck with them kidding in the timber?
Yeah they do just fine. A lot less confusion for them this way too. But you definitely need guard dogs I learned that the hard way!
@@WholesomeFamilyFarms what happened?
Respectful positive comment. The best goat sire is 10,000 miles off from you. Boer goat. And Kalahari Red. Possibly some available in the US. At exorbitant prices. I imagine. For meat. Breed these with ANY other ewe and expect the scruffiest ewe to have very good lambs. And. How true. They must keep browsing. Or remove themselves. Give gas.
Guess my bro has 50 goats lol . He really should rent them out ?what do u think . ?
Sure wouldn’t hurt!
@WholesomeFamilyFarms he ll never do it lol .
do you have a drone? any chance we can get an asmr eating video of the goats just eating an area for awhile?
I don’t have a drone. Would be awesome to have someday though!
very cool. Have you tried using ladders keep them intrested inside the pen and grazing higher. @@WholesomeFamilyFarms

If you ever lost any from eating any poisonous plant like maple they say Maple poisonous I've never seen him die from it
As far as I know. I haven’t lost any goats from any one certain plants that are supposedly poisonous…. That being said as long as they have enough diversity of other non poisonous plants around. They are just fine. Have a great weekend!
