I love how you’re raising your boys to be brave. My father-in-law always told me, please don’t kill the adventure in your son, don’t make him afraid of everything. I took that to heart even when it made my momma’s heart want to scream nooo! He had lots of bumps and scrapes (nothing terrible) but he survived it all. He’s 29 now and tells everyone he had the best childhood and has so many stories to tell everyone. It makes my heart smile to hear him say that. I think I did okay. And I know you guys are doing okay as well.

I agree with your father in law and you totally. I am now 74 yrs old. I do not have many trophies to display to the world of my achievements. But I can say that I fractured my bones of my adventurous life which I don’t regret at all. Through all those daring pursuits I have learnt a lot in life. My wife and I raised our son and daughter giving them lots of freedom like the Newbys. Now they are raising their children giving them the same life. Love and care in raising your children is not restricting their lives by saying no, no. You may have broken bones in the process but you learn how to live your lives to the full.

Merry Christmas’The Newby’s’ from Scotland. I rarely comment but that was lovely. I have the honour of watching my grandchildren opening their presents on Christmas morning but , from choice, spend the rest of my day alone. A tradition I started my first Christmas as a widow but this year, 5 years later, I am really looking forward to my own space in what has been a very busy year. Wishing everyone who is reading my comment a very merry Christmas and happy 2024 when it arrives. Next year, at 67 I’m being BRAVE and off to EXPLORE Europe by train (which is BIG to me) thanks Newby’s 😊

My parents were very poor when they were young. They made Christmas ornaments out of walnut shells. They cracked them in half took out the nut and glued them back together and painted them red. They did not have green ribbon so they used blue. They always put them on the tree together. I found some glass gold walnuts and gave them to them for their 50th Anniversary. They are also put on the tree together. As with every year this year I am happy to say, was the same as all the others in the past, some 59 years later.
I completely agree with Kimberly's comment and have thought this every time I see Crusoe helping and enjoying nature! I also wish I were taught to explore more and be brave; I know it would have made a big difference in my adult life as well.

That was so wonderful to watch the baby up on the bench we could see an accident about to happen but I was so rpbusy looking at the scenery and table when he stepped down and just got up haha . Tough little boys . I raised 3@and yes you have to let them climb and get muddy and jump in puddles ! ❤

Very happy to see you having a plant-based dinner 😊🌲. I just made Wellington for hubby’s 50th surprise party and everyone was not plant based but absolutely loved it 🥰. I also make hollandaise from raw cashews, garlic powder, lemon juice, tumeric, & Dijon mustard, pinch salt and 1/2 cup water. Then pour on top your hot food. Merry Christmas to you all…we ❤️ you! I will always bought a very special Christmas decoration in all our trips around the world for each daughter now 40/47 and did what you are doing ...when they married they took their own decorations for their trees.. They used to loved the surprise every Christmas.

Hi Everyone Merry Christmas, I am 60 years of age and when I was a wee kid my mum made Christmas decorations out of egg boxes, with my little brothers who were twins and myself. I still have those decorations to this day. Lol I also have all the glass vintage ornaments that were on my childhood tree. My mum gave my daughters a new Christmas tree ornament every year of their life and when they moved out they were given them for their family tree. I know have three grandsons which I keep the tradition going. They help me pick ornaments and we sharpy the year and their initials onto them. The boys pick one for their half brother Jack. Jack was a surrogate baby their mum had for a couple that couldn't have a baby of their own. The boys put his ornament on the tree and when Christmas is over his ornament is put into a box and is being kept incase he should ever come looking for his birth mum.
