@beau big thanks for this video! When I started out looking for laptops this was actually close to the top of my list. Good to see that it is still great value and this config only cost around 1900€ in Germany now. Very enticing, but I am waiting out for Black Friday and X mad sales.

@@nabulsi08 I ended up buying the 4080 version of the SCAR 18 for 2600€ open box. quite satisfied with it so far.
@@bballcrazeddan23 Thanks for answering. This was over my budget. I'm also in Germany and I bought the exact same Laptop as in the Video as something called "B-Ware". In this case it's a bit scratched on the back. Got it for ~1400€
@@nabulsi08 After 6 weeks with it I realized that 2022 SCAR 17 would have been plenty fast for my needs but honestly, I have had 2 lost parcels when returning laptops in the past few months and getting your money back takes so long and is so stressful that I won't go through it again :) Hope you are happy with your SCAR 17..

I also got the same Laptop with the exact same specs for 1440€ a few months ago. I'm impressed by it. How's yours? :) I'm just concerned about cleaning... It's my first Gaming Laptop and I don't know if I have to clean it, like the fans. I see some people on KZhead do it. Any idea and how to?

Are you using a cooling pad while testing games? Because for me the gpu temperature quickly reaches 86C while gaming and it instantly limits the gpu power to 115watts
No but I alway raise the back and make sure the fans and internals are immaculately clean

Interesting, I have the Strix G17 6900HX, RTX 3080, 32gb. G713RS-XS91-ca. My GPU power seems to be limited to 115watts. Always plugged in, never goes above that in any mode. My power management settings are at max. I wonder what the issue is for me.
You are running it in performance mode. Turn on the turbo mode in armoury create for maximum power to both cpu and gpu
I had this laptop, but i gave it back. When i started a game (Epic/Fortnite), the grafics switches zu gpu. Everytime the color changes, it was darker, color intensive). Unfortunatly i coudnt find a way, where i could adjust it. Can you tell me, if we have the same wit Lenovo Legion Slim 7?
That just sounds like a driver bug or hardware defect. Should have that in the g17 or the new slim. I’ve had no issue on my slim 7 to date
I'm still amazed that fan noise is so low even when playing a game at high settings and sounded more like hiss than whoosh on Legion laptop. How does ROG do that? It's quieter than Legion.

@@nabulsi08 the 3080 is more powerful and has some significant advantages. The 4070 runs quite well on lower watts. For a 4060/70 I’d target a thinner laptop. For a 3080/4080 they are more powerful but ideally have a bigger laptop

Is it necessary to Clean the Laptop (Fans) and how do we do it on this exact Model?
It is always important to clean your fans in your laptop otherwise you’ll get an adequate performance and most likely damage. You can take off the bottom and use compressed air to gently clean the fans
Can you make a Video on how to do this? I'm a bit worried because this Laptop wasn't cheap... Is it necessary to take anything else off like the Fans themselves or just the bottom cover? So far visually I see nothing but the right side of the Laptop seems weaker than the right. I don't know if it's because the right side is bigger so it's normal or because of Dust.@@TechGuyBeau
It is powerful but all will do you shit when the screen stops working. Why do you think they are so cheap. You get what you pay for.

Brother this laptop is absolutley horrible. My 6th gen 3070 and very weak 5800h outperform your benchmark metrics. That is very troubling.
