  • The shitty thing is that the media is making the other players dislike CC. Totally unfair because she seems like a super humble person and just grateful to be in the W, grateful for her coaches & teammates.

Also some of the "CC" only fans are a little much because they can't understand that although she definitely helps grow the visibility, there are players that came before her and currently with her that are included in that. they shouldnt discount that.

  • The Aces organization is why this team has so much talent. In my opinion, the Aces have more great people than other teams. As far as Catlin Clark goes, push that ball till you drop. With all the sell outs, and attention, companies see the opportunities. If more fans come to see games, more money will follow. When Magic and Bird arrived, everyone benefited. Yes Jorden made the most money. Everyone made more. Charter flights are about time. If that is because of an influx of young talent, embrace that. More attention is what the WNBA has worked for. College woman`s basketball feeds the WNBA. This years class is a lot more than just Catlin Clark. Make no mistake ,she is the face.

    • True, but It’s a slap in the face to make it seem like one player is the “savior” of the league. These ladies have been balling. The younger generation having more of a social media presence and the fact that college athletes are now able to market themselves with NIL deals is why more eyes are on the women’s game. Talent has never been the issue. The knew generation of athletes have luxuries that players before them didn’t have. They’re just reaping the benefits of the sacrifices of players before them.

    • @@moniquej369 I do not think anyone has been slapped. A long time ago mens b-ball was not popular. Then John Wooden amasses a huge win record. I was alive way back when. Did you know that when Lew AlCindor was in college, it was a technical foul to dunk a basket ball? Once the fools who ran the college game changed the rules basket ball took off .After he graduated Lew changed his name to Kareem and he was a generational player too. Like Catlin he was never the "savior". Change is part of live and basketball. You either embrace it or get run over..

      @davidraevsky7782@davidraevsky778211 күн бұрын
    • @@davidraevsky7782 sure, but at least in the men’s game they honor the greats who’ve come before them. That’s not what’s happening here. And “change” isn’t the issue. They’re totally discrediting all of the amazing female basketball players who have graced the basketball court before Caitlin Clark and acting like she’s some kind of unicorn. My beef is not with Caitlin, she’s been a class act, my beef is with the media and all of these bandwagon fans who are acting like the women’s game hasn’t always been entertaining. Give credit where credit is due. If it wasn’t for the Lisa Leslie’s, Candace Parker’s, and Dawn Staley’s of the world, there would be no Caitlin Clark. So yes, it’s a slap in the face. Those women deserve more respect. Just because the hype around Caitlin Clark’s name is putting more eyes on the WNBA doesn’t mean we shouldn’t point out the obvious biases and privileges that the younger generation is receiving.

  • Allow me to put this into perspective. There are those that are making this a race thing. There are people that only like Caitin because she is white. There are people that don't like her because she is white. Those that like her because she is not gay, and those that don't like her because she is not gay, or tatted up. As someone who does not care for sports at all, I started watching Caitlin because of the Logo 3's. I have no idea how I even found out about that, but I did. As I started watching clips of her, all I heard was how she was the ONLY woman player, college or professional, that was doing that consistently. Everyone was talking about her court IQ and her amazing passing abilities too. Comparing her to Steph Curry, had no idea who he was so I looked him up and saw they were right. But what I also noticed was how wholesome she and her Iowa teammates are, so I started watching their games. I like greatness. And it is true, she does not play like others in her sport. I also like to watch people that get hate for no other reason than jealousy. That is one of the reasons, why I like Simone Biles, she gets unwarranted hate and she is wholesome. What the WNBA, colleges, and players in both need to realize is this, people want good role models for their children, not tatted up lesbians that put their personal lives on display for all the world to see. I'm a lesbian myself, and I am neither ashamed, nor boastful about it. If I had a daughter that was interested in basketball, I would want her to be exposed to wholesome players, and wholesomeness has no color. Aliyah Boston, Hannah Stuelke, Jada Gyamfi etc. are all wholesome players that have the same fans as Caitlin. Maybe at some point the people in charge will make the connection. Until then, keep being jealous of the above-mentioned players and see how fast you will lose the fans you are just now being made awars of.

"not tatted up lesbians that put their personal lives on display for all the world to see" who are some of the players you are talking about? Put a name on it and don't be scared, because whoever you are talking about is not the norm. There aren't very messy players in WNBA AT ALL. Also "are all wholesome players that have the same fans as Caitlin", I can guarantee you everyone who isn't a CC superfan does not want her fans. Some of her fans are racist, bias, sexist, and very disrespectful.

    • Just because they look wholesome, don't make them wholesome, and just because someone looks wholesome, don't make them wholesome. In the last I thought this was life not everyone supposed to look the same or dress the same, in the last I saw there were all type of women in the WNBA and NCAA to show all different type of women and teenagers from all walks of life that if they wanted to do it they could as well. Lol. Alsi who says Cc is not a lesbian as I think about it a lot of WNBA players never came out and personally said they were lesbians. And by you saying you didn't know anything about the NCAA or WNBA says you really don't know what's going on you're just going off what they have been promoted about one woman when there's other women in the past and present that's entertaining and has put up as many points as her. Now go do your research on the WNBA in the women that came before her even some of the women that still in college or even some of the women that she was drafted with like come on all she has is a shot other than that she's not entertaining go check out Malaysia Fulwiley freshman play for South Carolina the whole South Carolina team is undefeated and we hear more about CC than anything in the whole team is really just amazing and way more entertaining than CC is South Carolina use a lot of the freshmen it's not just about CC it's a whole new line of young woman that's about to change the WNBA but once again they chose a particular person to be the face of WNBA.

That’s the difference here to between MF and CC. MF is on a dominant team which means everything is easier. Consider the same difference between Emmitt Smith and Barry Sanders. Emmitt had better numbers. But Barry was better. ES never had to dodge defenders until two yards PAST the line of scrimmage because he was on a great offensive team [especially the line]. Barry was a better running back but had to start dodging defenders two-three yards being the line of scrimmage because the Lions never had a good O-line.

  • Clark is an exceptional player so this comment is honestly not meant to be adversarial towards her but objectively speaking she was not the sole catalyst to the heightened interest in women’s basketball. If we go back to the beginning, we see that Clark was putting up similar numbers in games and on the verge of breaking the scoring records prior to her loss against Reese and LSU in the 2023 championship yet the engagement, viewership and support was not substantial until Reese taunted her and the media decided to vilify Reese and make Clark a victim or hero. It’s just astonishingly weird that people can’t credit Reese for the energy, passion and “swag” (for lack of a better word) that she has brought to the sport. Technically, if the media did not vilify Reese then they would not have been able to make a hero out of Clark as the taunting incident is what catapulted Clark’s game and talent into mainstream media. Again, this means no hate to Clark.

  • I’m still a little confused about the lady that asked the question about superteams in the WNBA. I’m a new fan to the WNBA and I’m even aware that high draft picks are more likely to go to the same team unlike the NBA because there are fewer teams and actual spots for players. Cameron Brink and Rickea Jackson are actually franchise players that were drafted to the LA Sparks. The other loaded question about the flights and CC was handled well by BH &AW. At this point you can’t dwell on the past, you just have to be encouraged that they are finally addressing the issue. The W will have to quickly figure out a blueprint on how to properly manage everything that comes with having a sudden influx of superstars. Guess what,more are on the way!🧐

Now that the league is bringing in some extra revenue thanks to CC, it sounds like it's going to be a lot more viable. • People need to understand the ladies are not hating on CC nor do they dislike her everyone loves CC and have the upmost respect for CC as well as me including I just think the way everything is unfolding and taken place CC ain't no one individual bigger or larger than the WNBA I mean everyone and all the sponsors and endorsers and TV time everything rolls the Red carpet to one individual and forget everybody else you got women who laid the foundation and paved the way women who been doing and very very talented in this league still doing it and don't get a damn thing it's like being a parent and your loving one more than the others but y'all are showing this to the other young ladies and don't get me wrong it's not CC fault she done absolutely nothing wrong helluva athlete but let's start doing better and treat everyone the same and give the others ladies an opportunity as well and on the real nobody and I do mean nobody right now we never be a force like Candace Parker the true goat and last to all let CC put in the hard work and let her grow in the league and earn her stripes like everybody else she's gifted
