    • Commitment. Nuclear families. Financial, physical and social security. Where cheating isn’t an option on the radar of either parent. These things offend some people and so they need not give them a second thought. However, some people genuinely want these things. Or have more capacity to commit for life. What we need is a way for people to identify which group each person is in, and partner-up with like minded. Sadly I (unknowingly) picked someone from the opposite group and it’s a freaking disaster. I knew which group I belonged to but I don’t think they did - or couldn’t admit it to themselves...

Frankly, I do not care what anybody says, but the Bible, even though it's an old book, if you look at it closely, it actually has a lot of practical guidelines and principles that if people lived by, society would be a hell of a lot better off.

      @thecowboy9698@thecowboy96983 жыл бұрын
    • The Cowboy No, it’s not “enough said.” Your views on what are traditional christian values are not equal to what others view as traditional christian values. Just how traditional is good before we start regressing as a society? I 100% guarantee that someone could agree with you on following traditional christian values but once it comes to actually outlining what those values are, you could both disagree immensely

      @firefox30570@firefox305705 жыл бұрын
    • @@novacorps325 youre quite delusional if you think the whole human population is a potential partner. at best you meet like a thousand ppl who could be in your whole life(probably a lot less). could be more if you go to a date every week with different ppl on tinder or such where basically you dont get a relationship, just a fck buddy. unless youre in a village, you wont go up to ppl to ask them out. onto your question. women most of the time dont want the marriage, just the wedding. its a fact. obviously everyone would deny it cause its like an accusation("did you kill this person?" "no".) both women and men are expecting everything from the other side, without effort on their own. tho i say both men and women, women are obviously a lot more guilty over this. their expectations are retarded. theres no such men that could fill all those requirements they wouldnt compromise about. men cant be picky about who they go out with, cause they dont get many chances, unless youre the kind of guy that is expert at charming women and getting her to bed. they could be picky but they wont care, cause they could get a lot of women anyway, why restrict themselves. in legal terms, women has way too much power, they can literally rape their spouse with the full support of the law, and completely ruin his life. this is a thing that while the "not all women are like that" is true, but "every women has the power to do so", and because of this men get scared to do anything to make a women use her power. and so the men who are the most fit to be a husband, are actually avoiding the whole marriage stuff althogether. in the end, both genders are meeting the worst of the other, and complain why things happen the way they do. i dont care enough to write more than this. youre free to believe whatever you want, i simply shared my thoughts on the matter, from my own research and experience.

  • I'm a 16 year old girl, and I can't ever imagine having sex anytime soon and never have. I've been made fun of by my mom for not being into romance, and thought there was something wrong with me. Ultimately, seeing people around me getting knocked up left and right is alarming. I can't think of anyone I'd trust that much. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Even If the "hottest" person on the planet approached me, I'd still decline. Because I don't know them therefore I don't trust them. A stranger is still a stranger. • I love that he talked about the decimation of marriage and traditional sexual morality. Reducing sex to a matter of simple consent is to devalue it to the point of a transaction. If someone violates consent in a business deal, it’s wrong but probably isn’t going to have long term emotional and psychological repercussions. There is a reason why victims of sexual abuse suffer those long term effects. Sex is not meant to be casual and it’s not meant to be carefree. When someone sexually abuses another person, they’re guilty of more than just violating consent. We have to instill respect for sex within the confines of marriage again if we want to see improvement in our culture.

    • @@joeyalen5212 *And also yes it is about consent, if your husband has sex with you it’s enjoyable, if a stranger breaks in and does it against your will not so much.* If not having consent is what makes rape gravely immoral then if someone pats you on your back without your consent then he too would be doing something gravely immoral. So it can't just be consent which makes the act of rape gravely immoral. So there must be something other than or in addition to consent that makes the act of rape gravely immoral. *Even better, you don’t want to have sex with your husband but he forces you. We can probably agree not a good thing. The only difference is consent in those situations and the fact that your married doesn’t override your consent.* The sexual act needs to be unifying and procreative in nature, and it can only be done in the union of marriage(revealed to us by God). The Christian believes sex is sacred, when a couple gets married they become ONE flesh, and secular people tacitly admit this when they acknowledge that rapists deserve 10+ years in prison. Without invoking sacredness secular people cannot demonstrate why rape is gravely immoral.

The problem with people who are to conservative that they put everything in boxes. While there's a huge grey area. It's like when you had sex that is in his words a consuming product you aren't capable of appreciating sex with someone you love deeply. There is a small majority who believe in equality, but then the rest believe men should not be able to raise their children, women should have all feminine hygiene products free. They continue to fight when there is nothing wrong in their own country, but won't for women in others. 21st Century Feminism is a joke, hopefully it can become better, but right now it's a bunch of dyed hair women screaming about dumb shit.

Even way back when, when they were fighting for the right/privilege of being able to vote, they only wanted the privilege, without the responsbilitiy that went along with it (draft). Even today, in 2020, men in America have to register for draft if they want to vote, if they want student loans, or quite a few other things - women get those things without the responsbility that men have to put up with. But disregarding the 'extent of fulfilment', should the same standard be held (because we've moved on to overcome our primordial urges, for the most part), or should men be expected to be in a relation with more than one woman at a time? You've answered that and that's really the only thing i care about regarding the context of the original question. But here's another one. As men are biologically predisposed to desiring more than one mate (which has kind of been negated by societal expectations causing men to stick to one, but men do still cheat more) should men be treated differently if they have cheated then women are? You know, the whole 'boys will be boys' approach. Should men be excused for their actions and women be punished for the same thing?

      @kevinnelson6070@kevinnelson60705 жыл бұрын
    • @@kevinnelson6070 Honestly I think men and women should be held to the same standards. Mainly because of the emotions that are involved in human relationships. When either a man or woman cheats it affects everyone around them, especially the children. I know from experience because my father cheated on my mother all the time. They would argue, fight, split up and get back together, rinse and repeat. It was HELL for me and my siblings. Cheating is wrong wether it's done by man or woman. Animals don't have the same emotional attachments as us. Animals live a "survival of the fittest" life while we humans live for our families (for the most part).

    • Justin Centers I mean, what you ‘feel’ and your anecdotes aren’t usually representative of the population, but in this case they are. Statistically, women cheat just as much as men. But the original question was referring to how Shapiro said that women are more fulfilled in a committed relationship than in having numerous one night stands. I think it’s because lust eventually runs out, when it gets to the point where you’re only interested in sex and then you eventually lose interest in just sex. If those women you mentioned have any sort of moral compass, they would not be very happy, at least not as happy if they had not.

      @kevinnelson6070@kevinnelson60705 жыл бұрын
    • Yes, men should have the same standards too. Men and women should both only have sex in marriage, both should not get divorced. Also, the fact that Senators as well as our dipshit president wants to take away an institution that helps so many of these rape victims, such as providing abortions for women who would not be able to support their offspring or who would solely relinquish them to foster care (leading to a life of misery, abuse, and identity issues). How many men's bodies are controlled or regulated by the opposite sex? If men were forced to get vasectomies, you'd NEVER hear the end of it. OR maybe you would be aware of the persisting wage gap, in which women on average earn 81 cents of every dollar that a man does---and anti-feminists dismiss this as being a result of the fact that "men just work harder;" even though women are shown to earn higher grades and contribute equally to their respective job fields and environments. OR perhaps you'd be aware of the persisting stigmas in which girls and women are shamed for their sexuality and constantly called "sluts" and "whores" for the same actions for which a guy is praised or called "the man." Interestingly enough, the period during and following the Reconstruction, many white supremacists argued that since technically African Americans had been granted equal political rights, they are treated equally and given the same rights in practice. Your ignorance, complacency, and incomprehension of the effects of many men like yourself's attitudes have caused enough damage throughout history. It's time to let this register in your mind. Sure, you can ignore all the points I've made and respond with an ad hominem fallacy denigrating the fact that I'm a woman or whatever other qualities you deem fit: this only attracts more attention to the prevalent and prevailing diminutive attitudes towards women across the globe. My husband is the breadwinner of the house, I am the faithful housewife, and that's not a bad thing, I'd prefer it to be that way. I may do household chores and cook, but my husband works all day to get a paycheck. No, I'm not forcing roles on my relationship. Ultimately, the decisions are my husbands, since he's the man of the house. Say what you will, but my relationship with my husband is everything to me. We both show each other the respect we both deserve.

  • A gentleman does not exploited women when they are vulnerable. Gentlewoman does not place herself in vulnerable positions. If you are a gentleman, when you see the girl who at the hose party in college has drank to near comatose state you do not exploit her. You make sure she is okay. If you are a gentleman and the drunk girl starts rubbing up on ypu, you walk her home. If she is offended by you not wanting to take advantage of her because she is drunk, she is not a girl you want in your life. If you are a gentlewoman, you do not drink your self into a nearly comatose state thus putting yourself in a vulnerable situation. If you are a gentlewoman, you do not get so drunk that you wander up to some dude you do not know or hardly know. There is a difference between having sex and making love. Sadly so many are confused over this.

Sadly when men and women cannot get along bad things happen for society. Japan has the lowest reproductive rate in the world. Marriage rates are at the lowest ever. The rate of depression and suicide for women have increased significantly. The 27 % of men who will consider women are easily able to exploit women as most women in Japan want to get married. Not uncommon for men to have multiple girlfriends as the competition for a man is cut throat. Motivational speaker zig ziglar used to say, men and women could have better romantic and marriage relationships if both men and women realized they were on the same team.

So now love is cheapened into a quick hit like a drug. Deep love comes from knowing someone well like how well Jesus knows us.

    • @@janhavisingh5826 I agree. It has deviated, but I think in a good way. In urban society, I see marriage more as a joint collaboration between the parents and children. Before that, it was simply the parents and/or elders making the decisions. In terms of chivalry... hm... what I was trying to say in the original comment is that marriage (simply based on elder's choice and society) is stupid. Chivalry was never a part of Indian marriage, even in ancient times. It was about social connection, community, and in times of barter trade system, it was a good method for families to exchange wealth and land. Of course this applies to the west too. I feel that nowadays arranged marriage has lost it's purpose. It is doing nothing more than suppressing the younger gen. I feel like I'm going off tangent and writing too much, plz bear with me. ^^; I agree with you and yes, what's he's saying has nothing to do with Indian traditional marriages today. I'm just saying his concepts and views in marriage only applies to western (specially American) society. I think a little strong feminism would do India good. Constraining sex to just marriage is a terrible idea and as far as I'm aware, Indian men being taught to protect is just another way of saying "women are weak."

In any case the most problematic areas when it comes to unstable families is in the poor black communities; most of them are in the lowest income brackets and would be paying next to zero income tax (apart from payroll/SS taxes) Better solution is getting government out of stuff like benefits. Benefits that keep single mothers afloat have a positive impact on them short term but had the long-run effect of removing the man's responsibility for the child ("Why should I pay, you can bring up that child with taxpayers' money"). Removing the benefits would cause women to, just like the old days, force men to take responsibility as a *precondition* for sex.

This girls can't even code anything in C or even python. They don't know basics of programming or other skills yet they get admission with 99% off. I say really. If you are a girl from minority it's even great. Boys like me have to pay 10000$ or even more while girls get scholarships as well as good amount of support. I visited many colleges and i found out it happens all the time. only 1/20 girl wants to know other than basics which will get them a job. Also the boys that get the admission are also same just because of they from minority they gets the advantage. Even If i travel in train the girls can come in men's couch and blame us for being too close in rush hour. My mother in school where she earns around 140 USD per month. She wanted me to see go to good college and have a good social life. Just because of these minority and girl empowerment bullshit I didn't got admission into a good college. Even after cracking JEE mains which is the one of the hardest exams in world. Even having good scores like 88% and 92% in Computer Science I didn't even make to college i wanted but same girl i knew got admission there with 20000 rs fees per year(hardly 180 USD) while she scored 52%. The college asked me 5000 USD for a year since i am not from minority and these girl who is not even studying there...she just want to enjoy friends circle. *AM I A JOKE* Really. After that I knew that dumbass kids who don't even like studying are killing the opportunities and dreams of students like us. I can't even express my frustration and hatred. Isn't Feminism killing the dreams of a mother wanting her son to have a good job and have a better life than her. I don't have a father, he died. My mother is a woman and she has all hopes on me but isn't feminism killing the hopes of lot of mothers who want their son to succeed. I am a Computer Scientist, An AI engineer and a researcher on my own. I didn't got into college but My programming skills are way superior to 99.5 % of these college folks. These minority rights and Feminist can't kill my dreams but they do a lot of damage by making world hard for people like us. I had to buy a 1000 dollar laptop which cost 70% more in india than USA so 1800 USD. and to get my own set up, Material for IOT and Robotics. Own raspberry Pie and other software necessaries. But working in my Home 8 hours a day studying and getting better in Industry, Pushing my limits I grew a lot of depression coz I didn't have any Social Life anymore like these people go to college have. If I had gotten gift of being in college I might have made lot of friends and also got the stuff I wanted already in the Comp. Lab. But my only crime was that I was born as a man and not in minority. Thanks if you made it to the end. I don't Think anybody will read this cause I just want to my frustration released . • This is one reason I married my wonderful wife, who is from Japan. She came from a culture where it's still okay for a woman to be a woman, but she also recognized something outside of her generation's culture of frivolous sexuality and unrestrained lust. She wanted to save that intimacy for her future husband where it could be tempered and made more meaningful and enjoyable. I feel so guilty and yet motivated because this angel helps me want to overcome my issues and become the kind of man I know I can be for her and other people. I'm not a misogynist for wanting to love, protect, and care for my wife. It just became so important to people in our generation to equate that with meaning women can't do these things themselves or something. A good couple protects EACH OTHER, but our bodies are different. Sometimes one needs more help than the other, but that shouldn't be taken as a sign of weakness from one side, it should be taken as a sign of getting over one's pride and ego to care about someone other than themselves. (Edit 4 years later, I apologize for being dramatic with this comment. I feel I've changed a lot in the last years to not oversimplify this topic, so I apologize if I was being inconsiderate to anyone. We are doing fine though. Welcoming our first little one into the world soon. Whatever your background or identity, I hope you're just trying to be a good person for a loved one.)

    • The problem is the old ways are dead and if you find a decent partner then you're in the minority. People look at relationships like a Disney movie. Romance has never really existed as it's an illusion created by romance novels, TV shows, films to make money and brainwash people. People got.married years ago so they could have stability and have children. Many people were in unhappy marriages but stayed together as divorce was frowned upon. It wasn't all necessarily better years ago but society was much less broken down than it is now.

  • A friend of my wife messaged her after I shared this video on FB. She was asking my wife if she was okay as she believed Ben was saying consent was stupid. Like if I was sexually assaulting my wife. Now I love and respect my wife and at an early age was taught to be respectful towards all walks in life. I'm sure her friend meant well. My wife watched this video and felt concerned for her well being and I had to spend a hour saving face. I asked her to give me the benefit of the doubt and to not let her friend cloud her judgement of me and that she can always come to me for clarification when I share my opinion. We needed a professional marriage counselor to help put this discussion to rest because it was hard to deal with. So long story short....when someone states their opinion and you are in disagreement....seek clarification and get to know the person's heart before accusing them of something they are not

  • As a women in her mid thirties, I can say I hate feminism. Because of the point Ben just made. I have thought this for a long time but haven't heard anyone in media verbalize it til now. Feminism is part of tearing down roles within a healthy marriage. When roles become confused, it creates a perfect breeding ground for chaos and disrespect. Women and men were created different for a reason.

  • When he says that women need to teach men how to act within relationships he lost me. Women shouldn't have to be their spouses parent. Men are adults. Men shouldn't need to be taught how to act in relationships. If men need to be taught by their spouse how to function I think that that suggests parents are doing a lousy job raising compassionate, independent, and cultured boys.

    @mkmoor04@mkmoor045 жыл бұрын
    • @mkmoor04 we as humans learn through experience for the entirety of our life. parents can teach and instill good morals and respect towards others however there is no substitute for experience, it is the responsibility of both partners to extend common human decency. at the same time female characteristics are more nurturing, i suspect Ben is alluding to this idea. women do not have to mother their male partners, just have to posses strong traditional female characteristics for a happy relationship. Nothing more appealing than a strong character woman to a man i can tell you that. when it comes to long term relationships it is the character not the looks that matter to a man. is suspect it is the same for woman. hope i made sense.. :)

    • @Profit Glutton I think from a conservative perspective though that this takes away the agency and accountability of the man though. Conservative rhetoric consistently says that we should hold ourselves accountable. It is not society or the governments job to help us. It is our job to be responsible and useful so to speak. Therefore that same mentally would suggest that men should also be held accountable for not acting barbaric either, not their spouses job to act a certain way in order to teach men how to be. I think the main reason there is such issues in this day and age and things like radical feminism cropping up is more to do with the fact that society is not letting folks evolve. If you implicate someone to a role within society that is not of their choosing, but expected upon them by society at large you will see extremism crop up. Resentment can build, confusion, internal war etc of an individual happens when certain expectations are applied on an individual. This is no where more prevalent then in I would say the transgender community for example. Society and biology is forcing one expectation on someone, but internally their mind is forcing another- that ideological opposition within a person creates confusion, a loss of identity, resentment of society and themselves, and hence why they commit suicide at such staggering rates. People need to be allowed to evolve otherwise when we apply these social expectations or roles on folks it just creates extremism of some form. Men need to be allowed to evolve out of this stereotypical role of breadwinner and protector and same for women being the domestic goddess and nurturer so to speak. Now there is nothing wrong with men and women taking on those stereotypical roles. What is wrong is expecting everyone to fit into that model and not accounting for the fact that men and women are incredibly diverse and a good majority of them might not want to fit into those roles. And I don't think men are inherently more violent than women are. Yes, men show their violence through physical strength mainly because they are stronger, but women can be just as violent from an emotional standpoint. Men and women have a lot more in common than this suggests and I think we should allow ourselves to evolve and at the same time hold ourselves personally accountable to how we act within society on some level.

      @mkmoor04@mkmoor045 жыл бұрын
    • @Profit Glutton I completely agree that men are physically stronger than women and in a previous world yes they would need to be the main providers, but I think the fact that most jobs no longer need brute strength, but intellect instead puts both on equal footing. I think society just needs to adapt to that and look at it as an opportunity as I suggested to evolve versus trying to hold on to the old guard so to speak.
